Abstract

The research objectives are to 1) analyse the competitive advantage of robusta coffee farm in Rejang Lebong Regency, 2) analyse the comparative advantage of robusta coffee farm in Rejang Lebong Regency, 3) analyse the impact of government policy toward competitive robusta coffee in Rejang Lebong Regency, 4) analyse the sensitivity of competitive of robusta coffee toward the changing of input-output. The areas of the research are selected by purposive method. It considered that Rejang Lebong is one of regency in Bengkulu that is have been planted robusta coffee from one generation to others and makes coffee become superior commodity. Selecting sample is done by using stratified random sampling method. The sample is 32 respondents. The result analysis is using Policy Analysis Matrix (PAM). The research result shows that robusta coffee in Rejang Lebong has high competition (competitive advantage and comparative advantage). It is known that DRCR value is smaller than one, about 0,37 and 0,23. The impact of government policy toward input of the result analysis using PAM method is IT value is negative Rp.1.197.108/ha/year. Input Transfer (IT) value describes the policy (subsidy or tax) happened in tradable input production. IT value is negative for robusta coffee farm. It indicates that there is a policy subsidy toward tradable (anorganic fertilizer) input production in coffee farm. That is an advantage for coffee farmer. For output, IT value factor is positive 10.296. It indicates that there is a government policy toward domestic input such as tax. The input-output policy doesn’t work effectively or support or protect the coffee farmer in Rejang Lebong. The government policy is applied in coffee trade, so it causes coffee farmer doesn’t accept the price of coffee as social price. The sensitivity analysis result shows that robusta coffee farm has good competitive (competitive advantages and comparative). The factor assumption is constant with PCR and DRCR value less than one. Combination sensitivity analysis shows that input and output changing is caused by the decreasing of robusta coffee farmer competitive in Rejang Lebong. It is shown in competitive advantage with the PCR value more than one, about 2,43 and comparative advantage with DRCR value smaller than one, about 0,44.

Traditional foods processed by recipes taught for generations. The material used is derived from the local area, therefore the food produced is also palatable to the local community. The purpose of this study was to obtain deployment of “Lemea”, the traditional food of Bengkulu Province as a basis for the agro-industry design of traditional food standardized (raw materials and processes) of the Rejang tribe, to produce a consistent product quality, hygienic and attractive, so it can compete with other package food products as well as preserving traditional foods. The research method used is the method of direct survey taken in nine districts in the Bengkulu province through interviews. The data obtained are plotted into the map of the area and are associated with secondary data. Survey result shows that the Lemea home industry only found in five districts of the Bengkulu province, i.e. district of Central Bengkulu, district of Northern Bengkulu, district of Kepahiang, district Rejang Lebong and district of South Lebong. The main raw materials used in each district are varied on types and tastes. Additional material (fish) and spices used also varies according to local conditions. The length of time of fermentation conducted also varies and there are differences a source of glucose (addition and without addition of rice porridge ) in the fermentation.

The study was conducted in Seginim, South Bengkulu, with consideration that Seginim is an area of aquaculture centers in South Bengkulu. Samples have been taken as many as 50 tilapia farmers. Data analysis was using quantitative and qualitative models. Approach starts from the calculation of operating cost, revenue, and income, and then the study of risk analysis approached by variance analysis. The results show that the income of freshwater fish farming, tilapia in particular, is Rp 59,512,743.75 per period of production per farming unit, and the level of business risk is quite high with the number of CV more than 50% (>0,5) and it has opportunity losing of income as much as minus Rp 7,127,386.37 per period of production.

Abstract

This paper aimed to determine the handling system receiving TBS in PT.Bio Nusantara Teknologi to three supplier of partners supplier, plasma supplier and general supplier and how opportunities for improvement that can be done. This study used decriptive analysis and F test to examined wether there is discrimination in handling treatment and price of TBS among suppliers. The results showed that there are several steps that must be passed TBS suppliers to sell it to the POM: 1) taking a queue number, 2) The calling queue number, 3) Weighing, and 4) Sorting and loading and unloading. There was no difference in the treatment of the company against a third supplier, but the difference is the quality of fruit that would affect the price. The price difference was tested using the Tukey’s test or BNJ. From the results of the research sequence starting price of the highest rates of plasma suppliers, partners supplier and then general supplier.
