Abstract

The production system is a system found in the company to change a physical product from the input to the output. PT. Sinar Mayang Lestari is an arabica coffee producer which is experiencing an increase in demand every year. Increasing demand on green bean arabica in 2017, will affect the production system undertaken by PT Sinar Mayang Lestari. This research aims to find out the production system in PT. Sinar Mayang Lestari for coffee processing. This research used qualitative research and descriptive analysis. The results of the study showed that production system in PT Sinar Mayang Lestari consists of input, process, output, and feed back for the company. However, the production system is not optimal yet because the utilization of processing machines does not match the installed capacity. The company needs to set aproduction planning to overcome the increased demand, so that the production system can be done optimally.

Abstract

This study aims to analyse and estimate farmers income derived from inside and outside the oil palm estate to the land conversion activities of palm oil. This research was conducted in Taba Gemantung village, sub-district of Merigi Sakti, Bengkulu Tengah. Sample of 37 farmers selected randomly. The analyse method used is descriptive kuantitatif. Farm income estimated by substacting total revenue with total cost. The result show that (1). Two sources f oil palm income from agriculture sectors namely, paddy field and farm labors if they do not have palm estate, (2). non agriculture income sources are builder, employees, self employed and business stalls, (3). average farm income Rp 49.641.081 per year, and (4). average off-farm income average was equal to Rp 59.954.000 years.

Abstract

Cooperative is a business entity that based on kinship and provides services to its members. Service quality of a cooperative affects the members' satisfaction. The existence of service quality is one of the reasons for members to join and contribute to cooperative. KPKM (Cooperative Producer of Coffee Margamulya) as one of the producer cooperative in Bandung Regency provides services to its member who were coffee producers in Margamulya Village. The purpose of this researched (1) to analyze the influence of KPKM service quality toward its member satisfaction (2) to analyze the influence of each service quality dimension to satisfaction of KPKM members. This research uses quantitative method by using multiple linear regression analysis. The result of analysis shows that there was positive influence between service quality of the cooperative and satisfaction of the members. Members' satisfaction can be explained by the service quality as much as 74.9 percent. Based on each quality dimension, the satisfaction of the members was not influenced by the dimensions of responsiveness.

Abstract

TThe value added is the value of a product that occurs due to different stages of activity conducted on the product. Cooperative Of Coffee Producers Margamulya (CCPM) is one of the producers of java preanger arabica coffee which performs the stages of activity causing transformation of product form, start from cherry to green bean with PT Taman Delta Indonesia as marketing channel. Therefore interesting to be studied a) coffee supply chain of PKPM; and b) The difference of value added that occurs between the farmers who do and do not do the processing of horn skin. The method used in this research was qualitative method by using value added analysis. The result show that in KPKM’s supply chain, with PT Taman Delta Indonesia as marketing channel, KPKM’s source of raw material are members that supply cherry and processer members that supply horn skin. The value added that obtained by members that sell cherry to KPKM’s are Rp4.558,00. The value added that obtained by processer members that sell horn skin to KPKM’s are Rp5.036,74. Members who do the processing of horn skin before selling to KPKM get higher profits because in addition to profit that gained from selling cherry, processer members get value added due to product transformation

Abstract

The purpose of this research is firstly to measure the company performance of Ground Coffee Sahabat viewed from the perspective of finance, customers, internal business processes, learning and growth. Second to recommend strategies that should be applied in the future. The method used is Balanced Scorecard (BSC), by measuring equally financially and non-financially, divided into four perspectives: financial, customer, internal business processes, learning and growth. The results showed that the company performance of Ground Coffee Sahabat based on financial perspective is good with the number of score 4, the perspective of the customer category good with the number of score 1, internal business process perspective in the category of good with a score of 5, and learning and growth perspective also in good category with score 1. Overall the performance of this company can be said good with the overall weighting value of 0.7 and is on the scale of business "good". In the future strategy recommendations, the company further improves financial performance in generating profits, increasing sales, providing better service to customers, expanding the marketing area, expanding the form of cooperation with suppliers, increasing production numbers, better able to retain employees, and improve employee productivity.

Abstract

The presence of modern market in Bengkulu city indirectly affect the shopping pattern of Bengkulu city community which in turn will affect the performance of traders in traditional markets. This research is conducted to investigate the impact of modern market presence on traditional market with parameter observed including turnover amount of merchants, merchandise turnover, number of traders, number of trader hours, profit margins of traditional traders in Bengkulu city before and after the establishment of modern market. The population in this study are oil, sugar and durable goods traders and fruit traders in traditional markets, which are still actively trading before and after the establishment of modern traditional markets. Twenty fife durable good traders and 15 fruit traders are selected randomly. Data is analyzed using Paired t-test method. The results show that there are differences in turnover, opening hours, and profit margins of traditional traders in Bengkulu city before and after the establishment of modern market. Suggestion in this research is to enforce discipline and control of officer routinely to the illegal traders not to trade along the road and sidewalk.

Abstract

The research are aimed at exploring farmers’ local knowledges on upstream of Ketahun Watershed area (Lebong District) to manage natural resources (forest, wet rice field, and plantation field). An analytical descriptive method is used analyze data gathered from interview to 80 farmers selected by purposive sampling. The reserach indicates that sources of farmers’ local knowledge on natural resources management come from internal and external social system. Farmers’ local knowledge can be analyzed by description of pragmatic and supranatural local knowledges. Characteristics of pragmatic local knowledges among others (1) reforestation, (2) social participation to guard forest function, (3) conservation of forest by durian fruit, tree similar to jackfruit and tree that produces beans with pungent odor, (4) applicaton of green revolution although has not yet appropriate with the package of technology recommendation, (5) maintaining of planting inserted, (6) maintaining of agroforestry on plantation area, and (7) perpetuating trees all along rivers. While, characteristics of supranatural local knowledges such as: (1) prohibited to spit, to urinate, to speak any old, fell of trees, and to take firewood on the areas that are consider sacred, (2) ngepoa means the process of good forest burn, (3) kiyeu setimbang alam means trees on along of watershed that prohibited to fell, and (4) mundang biniak means ritual of rice planting season for honoring Dewi Sri until rice plants can grow rapidly and can produce rice highly. Implication of the research are (1) involvement of local institutions to help farmers for maintaining natural resources based on local knowledges adn (2) increasing of farmers ability to select agricultural innovation for sustainability of natural resources.

Abstract

A study in addresing the resilience of the family structure of fishermen to the impacts of climate change was necessary in the context survival strategy of fishermen family. This research was conducted in the beach of Pasar Bawah, Pasar Manna South Bengkulu by using the case study strategy. Primary data was collected by in-deepth interviewing some key informant and participant observation some specific location.The research found that the impact of climate change experienced by fishermen were a tidal wave, a change in wind direction, extreme weather, the shifting seasons and shifting fishing area. The vulnerability of fishermen community were seen from the level of exposure, the sensitivity and adaptability. This vulnerability affected the family structure of fishermen so that they have to take action in order to survive and able to achieve resilience family. But the impact of climate change did not affected the family structure became disturb. The structure of family such as differentiation of roles, allocation of economic, political allocation, allocation allocation solidarity and integration were functional.

Abstract

Perception is the ability of a person to organize an observation, was one may have different perceptions even with the same object. In this research will analyze how the perception of fisherman society toward fishery policy in Bengkulu city. The study was conducted in Bengkulu City, namely Pasar Bengkulu, Pondok Besi and Malabro. The number of samples in this study were 114 respondents. Data analysis using linkert scale with 5 criteria. The result shows that the perception of fishermen community on the provision of aid in the form of fish catching infrastructure is 14.91% stated very good, 42.98% good, 25.44% good enough, 8.77% not good and 7.89% very bad. The perception of fishermen community on the provision of aid in the form of fish catching processing facilities as much as 6.14% is very good, 27.19% good, 39.47% good enough, 20.18% is not good and 7.02% is not very good and the last perception of fishermen community on the training and Marketing of fish catch shows that 20.18% states very good, 18.42% good, 26.32% good enough, 27.93% is not good and 13.15% is not very good.If the overall conclusion of average fisherman's perception on policy is 13.73% fisherman society is very perceived Good, 29.53% good perception, 30.41% good enough, 16.96% is not good and 9.35% fisherman society perceived is not very good. It can be concluded that most people perceive to agree on fishery policy in Bengkulu City.

Abstract

The research aims to identify patterns of relationships patron-client in Tambak RejoVillage, to analyze internal and exsternal factors which is an aspect of theopportunities, threats, strengths and weaknesses in the development Gapokdakan in Tambak Rejo Village, Formulating alternative development strategies Gapokdakan in Tambak Rejo Village. The type of data used are primary and secondary data. Primary data were obtained by direct observation and interviews in depth about gapokdakan  and secondary data from the literature books, articles, court documentation etc. The analytical method used is descriptive analysis to determine the pattern of patronclient, a SWOT analysis to look at the search for and review of internal and external factors to determine a good decision, whereas for determining the position of developmental conditions Gapokdakan that the formulation matrix IFE (Internal Factor Evaluation ) and matrix EFE (External Factor Evaluation). The results of this research is the patron-client that occurred in the Tambak Rejo village is lending system capital provided by middlemen to farmers in the form of fish feed, but this kind of relationship there are times when farmers in disadvantaged because of the incompatibility of fish price per kilogram, and the price increase feed if borrowed from brokers, on the other hand the benefits that the convenience of farmers to capital, marketing is assured, and farmers can continue farming fish. SWOT analysis for the IFE and EFE matrix is internal factor the highest strength is the availability of the fish pond, the highest weaknesses are internal factors that are difficult or capital financing farmers, the results of internal factors evaluation matrix, internal factor of gapokdakan is good. External factors greatest opportunities, namely the potential of tilapia hatchery in the Tambak Rejo village, as well as external factors are the biggest threat is the virus tilapia. There are two alternative development strategies Gapokdakan in Tambak Rejo, one of the strategic alternatives that Increase production with facilities and infrastructure and maintain the quality so that production can always meet existing market. Keywords: Patron-Klien, Swot, strategic alternative, Gapokdakan
