Abstract

The transition from the 2013 curriculum (K-13) to the Independent Curriculum in Indonesia represents an evaluative measure aimed at enhancing the overall educational standards in the country. Homeschooling Kak Seto Surabaya is a non-formal educational institution program that incorporates an independent curriculum. The establishment of a strong and effective partnership between students and parents plays a pivotal role in the attainment of learning objectives within distance learning programs. Hence, the purpose of this study was to examine the implementation of the independent learning curriculum in the context of distance learning programs, specifically focusing on its impact on enhancing the parent-child relationship within the Homeschooling Kak Seto Surabaya. The employed methodology is a qualitative approach utilizing a case study design. The employed methodology for data collection encompassed participatory observation as well as semi-structured interviews conducted with both managers and parents of students. The data analysis model utilized in this study is the Miles and Huberman model, which encompasses the sequential stages of data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The findings of this study indicate that the implementation of an independent curriculum has a significant impact on enhancing the relationship between children and parents during the learning process.

Abstract

The curriculum is present as a guide used by educators where the curriculum has undergone several changes as a form of adaptation to a dynamic era. One of them is by implementing an independent learning curriculum. Thus every school that has implemented an independent learning curriculum that emphasizes learning according to the characteristics of students. Because this curriculum tends to be considered new and is still being implemented in stages. Therefore, this study aims to find out how the implementation of the independent learning curriculum is carried out, find out the obstacles encountered in implementing the independent learning curriculum, and find out how the form of independent curriculum-based learning assessment at SD IT Islamic Center Deli Serdang in 21st century learning. This research is a field research using descriptive qualitative method. Collecting data in this study using interviews, observation and documentation. The results of this study indicate that: 1) there are four policies in the implementation of the independent learning curriculum, namely the National Examination is replaced by a Minimum Competency Assessment and character survey, the National Standardized School Examination is handed over to schools, the simplification of the Lesson Implementation Plan is only one page, and the expansion acceptance of new students. 2) The implementation of the independent learning curriculum in learning is composed of several designs, starting from the introduction, core activities, elaboration, communication and confirmation and finally closing. 3) The learning assessment process at SD IT Islamic Center Deli Serdang carries out several forms of assessment, such as daily assessments in the form of questions or written notes at the end of the semester.

Abstract

The Batak’ tribe is famous for its customs that are thick with a wealth of life philosophies. Batak’ people uphold the noble values that become these traditions. One of the philosophies taught for generations by parents to their children is: "Naso matanggak di Hata, naso matahut di bohi". The sentence has the meaning of daring to say right and wrong. The aims of this research are to describe the philosophy of Toba Batak’ culture Naso Matanggak Di Bohi, Naso Matahut Di Hata, towards the character education of children as the next generation. The Method used in this research is descriptive with a literature study approach. The Result of this research is the person will dare to appear different and firm with principles. With the philosophy that has been passed down from Batak’ ancestors, children as the next generation of the nation can understand the meaning implied in it and learn a good lesson. This paper can be a useful contribution for anthropologists as a reference in exploring and understanding the philosophy of Toba Batak’ culture in character education for organization, society and socializing with others.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the development of the ChatGPT topic in the context of its utilization and the challenges in supporting 21st-century education and learning programs that require the development of learning media as well as mapping the risks associated with the presence of AI (Artificial Intelligence) phenomenon, specifically ChatGPT. This requires the development of learning media as well as the mapping of risks associated with the presence of AI phenomenon, specifically ChatGPT. The method used in this study is a literature review related to ChatGPT, gathered from the Google database using the Google Advanced search strategy. The keywords "ChatGPT," "education," and "learning" were used to access various publications, particularly national and international scholarly articles that discuss relevant topics. The research findings generally indicate that ChatGPT is currently popular and dynamic, and it is predicted to continue growing in the future. However, discussions specifically related to ChatGPT in the field of education and learning are still the subject of debate, with both supporters and dissenters presenting rational arguments. Several examples demonstrate the significant positive benefits of ChatGPT's presence. To avoid confusion, it is crucial to establish policies formulated by authorized entities and implement them nationally with various supporting regulations.

Abstract

This writing discusses multicultural education in Indonesian diaspora families in Türkiye. It aims to reveal the application of multicultural education in the Gelin community in Turkey as an attempt to present the identity as Indonesian and measure the understanding of Nationalism and tolerance in the families of the Gelincommunity in Turkey. This writing method uses qualitative research methods with sources Indonesian gelinwho are married to Turks and living in Turkey. The ups and downs of the application of multicultural education are passed in mixed marriages, gelins in Turkey have their own pattern regarding the application of multicultural educaion which they teach to their children. Although there are no official rules for the use of multicultural education, multicultural education is a way to help children from mixed marriages find their identities without being forced to side with two different nationalities.

Abstract

Language has a close relationship with culture, so that language learning often uses cultural content as a learning medium. Therefore this study aims to analyze the cultural content in textbooks for learning Turkish and its relation as a medium of learning between Turkish languages. This study is qualitative research with a literature study approach. The source of the data in this study was the textbook for learning Turkish, namely "Istanbul Yabancılar İçin Türkçe Ders Kitabı". Data were collected by observing the content in the book. The data obtained were then analyzed using the Miles and Huberman qualitative analysis model: data reduction, data display, and conclusion. The findings in this study lead to the conclusion that cultural content is a crucial and inseparable part of the substance of the book "Istanbul Yabancılar İçin Türkçe Ders Kitabı" as a Turkish language textbook. At this level, the cultural content has two functions at once: bridging understanding related to Turkish grammar and representing the cultural identity of the Turkish people to international students.
