Abstract

This article proposed some important issues relating with teaching English vocabulary. This article also quoted various literature that have a correaltion with teaching English vocabulary for Indonesian students who were not from English Department. Specially, this article discussed about some issues relating with teaching strategy (Metacognitive strategy) and its procedure in teaching English vocabulary to the students. At last, this article might give a recommendation for those students in improving their English vocabulary.  Key Words: metacognitive  strategy, vocabulary learning

Abstract

Goverment will about the implementation of character education needs for appropriateness of ‘Kurikulum Tingkat Satuan Pendidikan’ (KTSP) in form of modification of learning tools at all subjects. Mathematics as one of many general subjects, for example, needs to integrate character values in order to have good characters. Therefore, it is better to explore preparation, implementation, evaluation, and all teachers’ difficulties in implementing character education in teaching Math at junior high school. Through descriptive qualitative research, this study had been successful to show a fact about the information that was relevant with the implementation.Kata kunci: pendidikan karakter, pembelajaran matematika

Abstract

This article was proposed from research result about “Motivasi Belajar Anak-Anak Nelayan di Madrasah Aliyah” that had been done at MAN Sumpur Tanah Datar regency in 2011. This research was descriptive qualitative research. The researcher did obervation and interview to those students. Then, the researcher also interviewed the teacher in order to find out the students’ learning strategies, their part-time job after school, and time duration for working after school. The researcher also observed their daily activities at the school. From these activities, the researcher found that the students’ motivation in learning was still low because of many reasons: having lack of responsibility, always postponing doing the school works, being easy bored in learning, and having no interest to continue their study to the next level if they conduct their study at the school.Kata kunci: motivasi, energi belajar, anak nelayan

Abstract

Evolutionary  course materials in the Biology Department, State University of Padang inadequate to guide students to think critically, giving rise to various problems. One of the problems that arise are student learning outcomes at the course of evolution tend to be low, because the students are not familiar with the assessment instruments developed higher-order thinking skills. Problem thinking skills of students that is low, overcome by applying authentic asessment in the textbook used. Qualitative test goal is to produce an authentic assessment of molecular evolution in the textbook is good, and can improve higher-order thinking skills of students. Qualitative test is one of the stages of research development, adapted from the model of the development of 4D-models Thiagarajan, ie develop stages. Qualitative test conducted on students of the Department of Biology State University of Malang, because the student has more accustomed to using assessment that guide higher-order thinking skills, so the results will be better. Qualitative assessment test showed that there were several assessment instruments that need to be revised, in accordance with the values obtained by the students on the posttest. Based on these results, it can be said that the authentic assessment in the textbook of molecular evolution has reached the category of good and fit for use in the teaching of Evolution in Higher Education.Kata kunci: uji kualitatif, asesmen autentik, buku ajar evolusi molekuler

Abstract

In this article, the researcher tried to discuss the thinking way of Ibnu Sina about Islamic education, especially in teaching behaviour. It was due to teaching behaviour was the basic principle to achieve the target of teaching. For Ibnu Sina, the teaching behaviour could be explored through discussion and socialization among the children of the same age. It was because they had a sense of imitation. In teaching bahaviour, a teacher had to consider the children’s psychology because this might influence the successful of teaching. Meanwhile, as a medium of teaching behaviour, Ibnu Sina had used a poem as a tool to spread the value of good behaviour.Kata kunci: pemikiran, pendidikan, akhlak

Abstract

Teachers’ domination in teaching Mathematics is one of many factors why students disliked to study it. To solve this problem, a good method has to be promoted in order to improve students’ motivation and their ability in Mathematics. This research was an experimental research through Guide Discovery Method.  The subject of the research was the eleventh grade students of Physical Science (IPA) of SMAN 2 Padang who were registered in 2007/2008 academic year. The research result showed that there was different abilities between the students after getting treatment in which the students who were taught through Guide Discovery Method had good abilities rather than the students who were taugh conventionally.Kata kunci: Metode Penemuan Terbimbing, Pembelajaran Matematika

Abstract

Nowadays, lack of responsibility, uninterest of learning and other bad habits among the students had became real problem that was needed to be solved. Reflective Model was one solution to actualize character education where the students could understand and gain the materials given by a teacher. This research was done to the students of State College Islamic Studies (STAIN) Batusangkar who were registered in 2012/2013 academic year. The design of the research was Classroom Action Research. The result of the reseach showed that actualizing character education through Reflective Model tended to be appropriate for students to change their bad habits to be good personality.Kata kunci: aktualisasi, pendidikan karakter, pembelajaran model nreflektif, Al-Qur’an Hadits

Abstract

The problem of this research was that there was a difference expression of anger between the societies who came from mountainous area (Pandeglang and Lebak) and western seashore area (Serang and Cilegon, Serang Regency) in Banten province. This might happened because they had different basic culture. Because of this phenomena, this reseach was aimed to know: 1) How is the basic emotional expression (including the feeling of anger, hate, scare, happy, sad, and surprise) of students in PGSD UPI Serang? 2) Was there any different expression of anger between between the societies who came from mountainous area  and western seashore area? The research design was descriptive qualitative research. The technique of collecting the data used by the researcher was through observing and giving questionnaire. Observing was done to the both groups of students by watching out their expression when watching a film under the title “The Ride”. Then, the questionnaire was distributed to them to know the description of their emotional feeling. From observasion to both groups of students, it was found that there was no different expression of anger between the societies who came from mountainous area (Pandeglang and Lebak) and western seashore area (Serang and Cilegon, Serang Regency) in Banten province, and expression is basicly universal (including the feeling of anger, hate, scare, happy, sad, and surprise).Kata kunci: emosi, ekspresi emosi, budaya, konseling multikultural

Abstract

Spritual aspect is an important component in starting a work because it correlates with work etiquette itself. This research is aimed to describe of how teaching in Islam concept about a work, guidances and councelling carrier, even doing spritual approaching in councelling carrier. Actually, moslem people were very lucky because all guidances have been stated clear. They just translate and apprecite them in daily, weekly, and mothly activities. Whatever and whenever these activies were done, they cannot saparate them from spritual aspect.Kata kunci: konseling, karir, spritual
