Abstract

This study is a quasi-experimental research (Quasi Experiment) that aims to determine the effect of guided inquiry learning model to the problem-solving ability of students Class XI SMAN 11 Makassar. The study design used was "posttest-Only Control Group Design ".The study population was the students of class XI MIA SMA Negeri 11 Makassar consisting of six classes, while the sample is a class XI MIA 4 as an experimental class and class XI MIA 6 as the control class with the number of students each 34 people. The experimental class was studied by guided inquiry model. While the control class was with conventional learning models.The independent variable in this study was guided inquirí learning model and conventional learning model. The dependent variable is the ability to solving problem.Data retrieval problem solving skills performed by administering the test problem solving abilities. Problem-solving abilities data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and inferential statistics. The results of inferential statistical analysis of the data prerequisite troubleshooting capabilities indicate that the data on the class experimental and control classes were not normally distributed, but had a homogeneous variance. Hypothesis testing was done by using a non-parametric test of Mann-Whitney test with α = 0.05 was obtained Zcalculated> Ztable (2:02> 1.64). The effect of guided inquiry learning model to the problem-solving ability of students in class XI MIA SMAN 11 Makassar studies on the subject matter of the reaction rate.

Abstract

This study is a quasi-experimental study that aims to determine the effect of giving quiz at the beginning of a meeting in a guided inquiry learning model towards the students outcomes of Class XI MIA SMA Negeri 10 Gowa. The population of this study was students of class XI MIA SMA Negeri 10 Gowa consisting of 4 XI MIA classes totaling 128 people. The sampling technique used a random sampling technique. The data obtained from the research results provided by the test of learning outcomes which were obtained on average in the experimental class were 81.10 and the control class was 70.63. The results of inferential statistical analysis obtained tcount (4.03)> t table (3.10) at α ═ 0.05. Quiz at the beginning of the meeting in the guided inquiry learning model affect the student outcomes of Class XI MIA SMA Negeri 10 Gowa study of basic acid base material.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the effect of the snowball throwing method on the discovery learning model of students learning outcomes in the subject matter of the Periodic System of Elements. The Research Population of all students in X MIA MAN 1 SIDRAP, period 2018/2019. The sample of 29 people in class X MIA 2 as an experimental group was taught by the snowball throwing method in the discovery learning model and 29 people in class X MIA 1 as a group control that was learned by the discovery learning model without the snowball throwing method. Data collection through student learning outcomes and questionnaire responses to research design posttest control group design. The results of the descriptive analysis showed that the average value of the experimental group using the snowball throwing method on the discovery learning model, it was higher at 73.05 compared to the control group which only used the discovery learning model without the snowball throwing method which was 69.74. The results of hypothesis testing on inferential statistics using the Mannwhitney test obtained a Zhitung value of 3.62 and at the confidence level (α) of 0.05 obtained Ztable 1.65. Therefore, Zhitung> Ztable then H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted, it shows that there is a significant effect of using the snowball throwing method on the discovery learning model on the learning outcomes of class X MIA MAN 1 SIDRAP in the subject matter of the periodic system element.

Abstract

This study is a quasi-experimental research that aimed to know the effect of mobile learning “ChemOnDro” android based media in discovery learning to student achievement of class X SMA Negeri 8 Bone on subject matter of electrolyte and nonelectrolyte solution. The study design used is "pretest-posttest control group design". The population was all the student of class X MIPA SMA Negeri 8 Bone which is consists of six classes. The sampling technique is random sampling, that the sample are a class X MIPA 1 as an experimental class and class X MIPA 2 as a control class. The independent variable is mobile learning “ChemOnDro” android based media in discovery learning model and discovery learning model without mobile learning “ChemOnDro” android based media, and the dependent variable is student achievement. Result of analysis prerequirement of inferential statistic toward n-gain result, show that the data in experiment class and control class didn’t distributed normaly, but it has homogen varians. The hypothesis test done using with parametric test by Man-Withney with ∝=0.05 was done with zcalculated > ztable (2.07>1,64). Based on these data, it can be concluded that there is an effect of mobile learning “ChemOnDro” android based in discovery learning to student achievement of class X SMA Negeri 8 Bone with subject matter of electrolyte and nonelectrolyte solution.

Abstract

Penelitian ini adalah penelitian Eksperimen Semu yang bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh integarasi metode diskusi Toulmin argumentation pada model pembelajaran Learning cycle 5E terhadap keterampilan berpikir kritis peserta didik. Desain penelitian adalah “Pretest Posttest Control Design”. Variabel bebas adalah integrasi Toulmin argumentation pada model pembelajaran Learning cycle 5E dan model pembelajaran Learning cycle 5E, dan variabel terikat adalah keterampilan berpikir kritis. Populasi adalah seluruh kelas VIII SMP Negeri 8 Makassar yang bukan kelas akselerasi yang berjumlah 6 kelas. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengan menggunakan teknik purpossive random sampling. Sampel penelitian ada dua kelas yaitu kelas VIII A sebagai kelas eksperimen dan kelas VIII E sebagai kelas kontrol dengan jumlah peserta didik masing-masing 33 orang. Instrumen penelitian berupa tes keterampilan berpikir kritis. Data keterampilan berpikir kritis yang diperoleh dianalisis dengan menggunakan statistik deskriptif dan inferensial. Hasil analisis menunjukkan nilai rata-rata pretest dan posttest berturut-turut pada kelas eksperimen adalah 23,48 dan 73,95 dengan rata-rata N-gain 0,655 (sedang). Sedangkan kelas kontrol 21,23 dan 59,85 dengan rata-rata N-Gain 0,507 (Sedang). Ketuntasan pada kelas eksperimen sebesar 39,39% sedangkan pada kelas kontrol sebesar 0% dengan nilai KKM adalah 79. Hasil pengujian hipotesis menggunakan uji-t diperoleh nilai thitung = 5,6212 dan pada taraf signifikan α = 0,05 dengan dk = 64 diperoleh ttabel = 2,0369. Oleh karana thitung > ttabel, maka H1 diterima dan H0 ditolak. Hal ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa integrasi metode Toulmin argumentation pada model pembelajaran Learning cycle 5E berpengaruh positif terhadap keterampilan berpikir kritis peserta didik kelas VIII SMP Negeri 8 Makassar pada materi pokok zat aditif, zat adiktif, dan psikotropika.

Abstract

The research is quasi experiments that aim to know the influence of pre-quiz giving using NHT type cooperative learning model towards motivation and achievement of X grade student of SMAN 11 Makassar. The independent variable are NHT type cooperative learning model with pre-quiz and without pre-quiz giving in cooperative learning model, and dependent variable are students’ motivation and achievement in chemical bonding main subject of learning. The population is whole student of X Grade SMAN 11 Makassar. The samples include two classes such as X2 as an experiment class with 36 students and X1 class as a control class with 34 students. The result of the research is obtained by giving motivation questionnaire and learning achievement test in chemical bonding subject which from as post-test and analyzed by using t-test. The result of inferential statistic analysis for learning motivation shows tcount (1,48) > ttable (1,828) at α= 0,05. And the result of inferential statistic for achievement test shows tcount (2,625) > ttable (1,674) at α= 0,05. According to the result of data analysis shows that pre-quiz in NHT type of cooperative learning model influences motivation and achievement of X grade student of SMAN 11 Makassar in main subject of chemical bonding.

Abstract

This descriptive study aims to determine how much ability of think creative of students on every aspect of the creative thinking skills (CTS) in terms of process and product. The subjects of this study were the students of class XI IPA 3 SMAN 5 Bulukumba. The class were taught using STAD Type of Cooperative Learning model with mind mapping. The instrument used in this study was observation sheet to measure the CTS of process and achievement test to measure CTS of product. The indicators achievement of CTS on application STAD type of Cooperative Learning model and mind mapping are: (1) fluency aspect reached 64.69 % belonging to high category, (2) flexibility aspect achieved 52.50 % belonging to low category, (3) originality aspect achieved 40.00 % belonging to lower category, and (4) elaboration aspect achieved 63.44 % belonging to medium category. Whereas the indicators achievement of CTS for the manufacture of mind mapping result are: (1) fluency aspect reached 74.22 % belonging to high category, (2) flexibility aspect achieved 66.41 % belonging to high category, (3) originality aspect achieved 53.13 % belonging to low category, and (4) elaboration aspect achieved 73.44 % belonging to high category. The Data were obtained by providing achievement test to measures the CTS of students during the learning process takes place. Values of achievement test were analysed using descriptive statistical analysis and is obtained the indicators of achievement for each aspect of that is to aspects of fluency reached 98.1% belonging to very high category, flexibility aspects achieved 91.5% belonging to very high category, and elaboration aspect reached 58.6% belonging to medium category. It was concluded that the aspects of fluency is an indicator that reach the highest percentage from other aspects of indicator of the creative thinking skills.

Abstract

This research was quasi experiment research that aimed to know the influence of discovery learning model to learning’s motivation and outcome student’s in class X MIPA SMAN 3 Bantaeng on subject matter of atomic structure. Research design was posttest only control group. Population was student in class X MIPA SMAN 3 Bantaeng that consist of five classes. Sample was taken randomly, experiment class was X MIPA 1 that though discovery learning model and control class was X MIPA 4 that though konvensional model. Data removal with motivation questionnaire and give posttest 20 numbers. Analysis data value learning’s motivation and outcome with statistic diferential and inferential. Result of analysis prerequirement of inferential statistic to learning motivation, show that for data motivation in experiment class and control class was normally distributed and it has homogen varians. In hypothesis test, with tcount> ttable which means that there is an the influence discovery learning model to student learning motivation of class X MIPA SMAN 3 Bantaeng. Than for data learning outcome in experiment dan control class was not normally distributed and it has homogen varians so, parametric test by Man-Withney with zcalculated > ztable which means that there is an the influence of discovery learning model to student learning outcome of class X MIPA SMAN 3 Bantaeng with subject matter of atomic structure.

Abstract

This research aimed to students misconceptions on the concepts of acids and bases. The research method used is descriptive quantitative method. The instrument used is a Two-Tier diagnostic instrument with a total of 20 items. Based on the results of research that has been done, the percentage of students 'conceptual understanding is 24.2%, students' misconceptions are 39.5%, do not understand the concept of students by 36.6%. Teachers and students are one of the causes of misconceptions in class XI MIA 1 of SMA Negeri 7 Makassar on the subject matter of Acid Basa. The process of assimilation of the concept of students is not successful, the low interest in learning of students, the teacher does not provide a detailed explanation of the concept, the teacher only uses conventional learning models (lectures) ,. Based on the data and causes of misconceptions above, it can be concluded that students in class XI MIA 1 Makassar 7 State High School experienced misconceptions on the concept of acids and bases.

Abstract

This research is descriptive research that aims to analyze the student’s critical thinking skills on acids and bases titration using practical work method. The subjects of this research are 26 students of SMA Negeri 1 Anggeraja class XI IPA3 choosed using random sampling technique. The data was collected by critical thinking test that refers to the five critical thinking indicators of Glaser such as knowing the problem, finding the ways that can be used to solve the problem, gathering and arranging information, analyzing data, and recognizing the connection between the problems. The data was analyzed by descriptive statistic method. The result of this research shows the percentages of student’s critical thinking skills for 5 indicators are; 1) knowing the problem is 85,19% with very high category; 2) finding the ways that can be used to solve the problem is 76,73% with high category; 3) gathering and arranging information is 69,81% with high category; 4) analyzing data is 61,22% with high category; and 5) recognizing the connection between the problems is 45,19% with medium category. In generally, the average of student’s critical thinking skills of SMA Negeri 1 Anggeraja class XI IPA3 on acid bases titration topic using practical work method percentation is 67,63% with high category.
