Abstract

Hajj and Umrah are included in the main worship in Islam. Although the ritual is more prominent, there is no doubt that the Hajj and Umrah pilgrimages to Makkah and trips to Medina are commonly accepted as religious events as well as the most important halal tourism in the life of a Muslim. When viewed from the time that has been running for centuries and the total number of participants and the countries of the world that are involved, it is not an exaggeration if Hajj and Umrah can be called as one of largest travel and event in the world. The Covid-19 Pandemic that lasted from the end of 2019 until 2022, has caused a far-reaching impact. There are restrictions everywhere on gathering activities as a result of health and safety protocol policies. No exception for the Hajj and Umrah. Indonesia as a country with the most Muslim population in the world is certainly significantly affected, namely by the cancellation of the delivery of Pilgrims in 2020 and 2021. Likewise, the delivery of Umrah pilgrims had been in a vacuum for months. This article describes what happened starting from the reasons for the cancellation, chronology, the impact and strategic solutions carried out by the Indonesian government and the responses by stakeholder of Hajj and Umrah in Indonesia.

Abstract

This research seeks to answer how the Nurcu movement's proselytizing strategy as a counterhegemony of secularism in Turkey with the perspective of hegemony theory and authority conflict theory. Research questions were answered by using literature studies, with a close historical and sociological analysis of the preaching strategy undertaken by the Nurcu movement in Turkey through research by other relevant sources. The study results show that the Nurcu Movement’s proselytizing strategy is an effective proselytizing strategy to counter Attaturk’s secular hegemony in Turkey. This is because the Nurcu movement implemented a "position war" and a "maneuver war" to carry out resistance to secularism in Turkey. In addition, Nursi and his followers can change the situation with the necessary understanding of religion and are able to turn conflict into consensus. The Nurcu movement preached culturally and persuasively with the civilizational dialogue method. In addition, this movement utilizes the fields of education, journalists, media and economics to utilize its da'wa

Abstract

Jamaah Ansharut Daulah (JAD) is one of the extreme Islamic groups that has a strong influence in the spread of takfiriism in Indonesia. This group has proven to be strongly affiliated with ISIS (Islamic State of Iraq and Syria), which is an extreme transnational Islamic group. JAD is one of the extreme groups in Indonesia that has the most followers and is spread throughout Indonesia. This is based on the large number of Indonesian people, especially Muslims who are exposed to JAD ideology. JAD has a different character from its predecessor group which also carried out acts of terrorism. JAD's character is like targeting a near enemy, disbelieving all those who serve the country, carrying out lone wolf actions, involving one family in its jihad, and involving women. Thus, this research leads to a form of counter-narrative/preventive effort as a form of self-defense to dispel such dangerous narratives. The study in this study uses a descriptive analysis model based on library research by taking data sourced from primary data, as well as secondary data. The findings in this study provide a new way of anticipating extreme narratives taught by JAD (Jamaah Ansharut Daulah), namely through the analysis of Ludwig Wittgenstein's language games. Through this analysis it can be found that there is a structure of propaganda language games, inciting, praying, and orders that are delivered religiously and in the form of justifications. Therefore, the analysis of language games provides a way, namely by paying attention to words according to their use in sentences, paying attention to the meaning of sentences according to their use in language, and paying attention to the meaning of language according to their use in life.

Abstract

Pancasila, Indonesia's fundamental ideology, was declared during the presidency of Soekarno and subsequently solidified by Soeharto, continuing to influence the administrations of Habibie, Gus Dur, Megawati, Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, and Joko Widodo. Throughout its history, Pancasila has evolved into both a moral and practical basis for the nation's development. In the era of the New Order, Indonesia implemented the Garis-Garis Besar Haluan Negara (GBHN) as a comprehensive development plan with short--, medium--, and long-term goals aimed at achieving national welfare. This plan laid the groundwork for subsequent administrations, such as Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono and Joko Widodo, to execute the Plan of National Development Medium Term (RPJMN) for the periods of 2010-2014 and 2014-2019. Looking ahead, Indonesia will soon adopt the New National Development Plan (2019-2024) with ambitious goals, including eradicating poverty, eliminating hunger, improving healthcare, and enhancing the quality of education. All these development plans are firmly rooted in Pancasila as the foundational ideology of the Indonesian state. Both Pancasila and the National Development Plan serve as the cornerstone for formulating and constructing public policies in Indonesia. From an Islamic perspective, public policy aligns with the concept of maslahah al-ammah, which refers to the general benefit or welfare of the people. This overarching concept encompasses principles such as legal certainty, equal rights, balanced rights and obligations, professionalism, fair treatment, transparency, accountability, targeted support for vulnerable groups, efficiency, speed, and affordability. These principles are inherently guided by Islamic teachings, ensuring that public policies are in harmony with the values of justice and social welfare.

Abstract

long with the passage of time, the repertory of Islamic thinking evolves and changes. As a result, the notion of Islamic thinking must necessarily adapt to the times as a solution to ensure that Islamic thought does not fall behind. Muhammad Abid al-Jabiri is a Moroccan modern Islamic thinker who has also replied to the Arab nation's decadence and backwardness in science. It was done because he wished to restore logic and resuscitate long-dormant Islamic philosophy. The purpose of this study is to discover the notion of Muhammad Abid A-Jabiri's philosophy and his contribution to Islamic education. This study makes use of library research. Using the content analysis technique. The information comes from books, journals, and documents related to Muhammad Abid al-Jabiri. According to the findings of this study, bayani thinking is a way of thinking that is founded on the text of the Qur'an as well as the works of scholars. Bayani is the most basic idea of thinking in Islamic education, where an educator instills Islamic principles in students based on the Qur'an and hadith. Irfani, on the other hand, is a way of thinking based on direct experience through soul absorption. Burhani, on the other hand, is a way of thinking that is centered on rational reasoning or optimizing the intellect to gather information. An educator is merely a facilitator in Islamic education, and it is up to the students to study and comprehend an idea or occurrence that occurs.

Abstract

This article seeks to identify the ideas of Fazlur Rahman, a classical thinker who is also ultramodern and advances neo modernism. Muslims are required to have a critical understanding of the Western world. One of his contributions is the Double Movement hermeneutic technique. This technique has distinct properties that can be used to understand legal and social texts. To identify Fazlur Rahman's views, the literature research approach is performed. According to the findings, Rahman emphasized the need of knowing the socio-historical backdrop in the field of law. Rahman was crucial in the development of a more methodical interpretive building. Even though his method is not wholly novel, he made an important contribution by emphasizing socio-historical factors and the Double Movement approach. However, problems and flaws in his technique are still being contested among Muslim academics. This article discusses the benefits and drawbacks of this strategy, presenting a fair picture of Rahman's contribution to ultramodern Islamic thinking.
