Abstract

This essay's first section defines hard and soft power and how they work together to create soft power. Next, various instances of the two principles' application in the formulation of foreign policy are discussed in order to evaluate their efficacy. There are also instances of the application of smart power in this discussion. According to the article, soft power's durability and longevity make it a more effective and efficient notion in modern global politics. Hard power, however, is becoming less valuable as the world order shifts against it. In the modern international system, smart power tactics are just as significant as soft power tactics. Nye proposed the concept of hard power and soft power distinctions almost twenty years ago. He characterizes command or hard power as coercive power used through inducements or threats, and power as the "ability to affect others to get the outcomes one wants" in general. Hard power depends on concrete power resources like armed troops or financial resources and is based on economic sanctions , forceful diplomacy, and military action. Hard power examples include the German invasion of Poland in 1939 and the UN economic sanctions imposed on Iraq in 1991 after the first Gulf War. Because of all of the above, it is important to analyze the types of power and their effectiveness, what is the impact of soft and hard power in modern international relations, both separately and in tandem.

Abstract

This study explores the effectiveness of capacity sharing strategies in the context of the halal industry in Makassar, with a focus on increasing operational efficiency and product innovation. Capacity sharing helps companies reduce operational costs, accelerate time to market, and drive innovation by sharing production, logistics, and R&D facilities. The capability sharing strategy has the potential to optimize the use of resources through cooperation between companies in terms of production, sales, and research and development (R&D) facilities, which can bring significant benefits in increasing the competitiveness of the halal industry.' This research uses a literature research approach that allows collecting and in-depth analysis of case studies, strategic management theory, and relevant literature covering relevant aspects of Islamic economics. This study shows that this strategy can provide significant advantages for companies in meeting stringent halal standards and facing existing operational challenges. However, to ensure the success of this strategy, challenges such as compliance with strict halal standards and collaborative risk management must be taken seriously . Capacity sharing strategies have great potential to bring positive change in the halal industry, but they must be implemented with a careful approach and supported by the right framework. The practical implications of this research include encouraging the business world and regulators to consider capacity sharing strategies as a solution to increase efficiency and innovation to maintain competitive advantage in an increasingly complex and dynamic global market.

Abstract

This study aims to investigate the impact of temperature on the fatigue level of operators in Dyeing Mills within the XYZ company environment in Bandung. The research method used is quantitative, employing a simple linear regression approach. The research sample consists of permanent employees in the production department, selected by purposive sampling. Data is collected by the measurement of ambient temperature at the workplace and the completion of the IFRC Japan questionnaire that measures the level of work fatigue. Data analysis indicates a significant correlation between ambient temperature and operator fatigue levels. The results indicate that employees working in higher temperature conditions tend to experience higher levels of fatigue. The implication of this research is the importance for companies to pay attention to the working environment conditions, particularly ambient temperature, as a factor that might affect the well-being and productivity of employees. This finding contributes to the understanding of the influence of the work environment on employee well-being, and provides a basis for companies to take necessary steps to reduce work fatigue and enhance productivity.
