Abstract

The "nyabis" or "silaturahmi" culture is part of Indonesian people's social and religious culture, especially by the santri or Islamic boarding school students. Nyabis activities are carried out to show respect and respect for fellow students who are more senior, scholars or teachers at Islamic boarding schools, as well as community leaders visiting Islamic boarding schools. Nyabis culture in Islamic boarding schools has an essential role in the life of students. Nyabis activities can strengthen social relations between students and scholars or teachers at Islamic boarding schools to create a harmonious and conducive atmosphere within the Islamic boarding school. In addition, nyabis are also a means for sharing knowledge and experiences among students. Nyabis activities are usually carried out at certain times, such as when guests visit Islamic boarding schools or on certain days, such as holidays or important Islamic commemorations. In some pesantren, nyabis activities are carried out on a scheduled or routine basis on certain days of the week. The nyabis culture in Islamic boarding schools shows the importance of social and religious values in the life of santri. Nyabis activities can also be a means to strengthen social and cultural networks in society, as well as to enhance brotherhood among Muslims. Therefore, Nyabis culture must be preserved as part of local wisdom and Indonesian cultural values. Thus, in this study, the researchers tried to unravel the problem of "nyabis" cultural integration with governance carried out by the kiai in the Salafiyah Islamic Boarding School Raudlatul Ulum Sumberwringin Jember. This study uses a research method with a qualitative approach to phenomenology. The results of this study indicate that "nyabis" in the world of Islamic boarding schools has an essential role in the life of santri. Nyabis activities are carried out to show respect and respect for fellow students who are more senior, scholars or teachers at Islamic boarding schools, as well as community leaders visiting Islamic boarding schools.

Abstract

Education and pesantren are two parts that cannot be separated for the survival of the students. One of the bad stigmas among society is that a woman is marginalized by men, so there are many cases of harassment or even violence against a woman. With the existence of islamic boarding schools in Indonesia, it turns out that it has a change in the order of society to raise the degree of women in Indonesia. That men are now also activists to maintain the existence of a woman. The existence of this islamic boarding school provides a solution to raise the degree of a woman because in pesantren today it has taught several skills and education based on gender equality education. Thus, female students can grow and develop with confidence to defend themselves to be able to compete with a man. In this study, researchers used a qualitative field approach with a type of case study research. While the method in collecting data, researchers use three methods, namely observation, interview and documentation. Meanwhile, the data analysis technique is through data reduction, data exposure and data verification. The form of implementation of gender equality education management applied in tarbiyatul mu'allimat al-islamiyah is leadership and management training, worksop improvement of group leaders and organizational skills among female students while the advantage of this implementation is the confidence of each student to be able to compete with a man and have a trustworthy and honest leadership spirit. Meanwhile, the drawback is that there are some students who are indifferent in carrying out and implementing the discipline of islamic boarding schools that have been mutually agreed upon, both kyai, teachers and students.

Abstract

Research refutes the opinion of Francis Fukuyama, in his book The End of History and the Last Man (2006) which states that nationalism is dead and does not need to be taught. This thesis was written to strengthen previous research which also questioned the existence of nationalism in the world of education such as Coulby and Zambeta (2007) which stated that the old ideology of nationalism which in certain aspects was universalistic, humanistic conceptualized by intellectuals, lost "truth" and the power to captivated many people in the west. A new concept is needed to strengthen nationalism education which strengthens 'national stability' in areas transitioning towards industrial culture. Dewey ( 2010 ) stated that nationalism education for students forms the characteristics of a democratic life that cannot be separated from learning. Maksu>d (2008) states that nationalism education is an effort to raise national personality and pride in the homeland. Efforts to strengthen these values cannot be denied through teaching at all levels of education. This research shows that (1 ) the ideology of nationalism needs to be taught in formal education because it is considered dead; (2) Nationalism education is the basis for strengthening the spirit of unity and nationality; (3) Strengthening nationalism through formal education (schools and Islamic boarding schools) is one of the effective steps to suppress national disintegration. The main sources of this thesis are various research results and documentation relating to the dynamics of the pesantren in Manokwari which are synonymous with Islamic studies and traditionalism, with a pluralistic society adhering to the majority Christian religion and the strength of the Free Papua Organization movement. the dealektics of the educational tradition of nationalism in the Darussalam Islamic Boarding School and the cultural traditions of the local community which are implemented in behavior and attitudes within the people of West Papua. To obtain these data, observations, interviews and documentation were carried out which were analyzed through qualitative research with a phenomenological approach.
