Abstract

Association rule mining searches for interesting relationship among items in a large data set. Market basket analysis, a typical example of association rule mining, analyzes buying habit of customers by finding association between the different items that customers put in their shopping cart (basket). Apriori algorithm is an influential algorithm for mining frequent itemset for generating association rules. For some reasons, Apriori algorithm is not based on human intuitive. To provide a more human-based concept, this paper proposes an alternative algorithm for generating the association rule by utilizing fuzzy sets in the market basket analysis.

Abstract

At this time the use of search engine on the Internet still does not reach maximum result. Users need to browse every web page list as the result of the search that fit with the topic one by one. We need an application that has a capability to look and to save web pages with their links fit with the topic without browsing, so that the result can be accessed offline. This application is called Web Grabber. Web Grabber application uses inputs such as keyword and searching depth. The input will be processed to obtain the appropriate web pages with the keyword and the searching depth, which is automatically saved. Firstly a keyword is needed to be search in the available search engine to get the search lists, which can be picked by the user. Every pick list will be used as the first search page. This application results are web pages that contain the keyword. This application also has a facility to browse the results. This application was succeed to automatically save web pages that appropriate with the input keyword and the depth, that previously search in AltaVista or Google. Web pages that contain with the keyword saved in the computer so that it can be browsed offline. Abstract in Bahasa Indonesia : Saat ini penggunaan search engine pada internet masih belum memperoleh hasil yang maksimal. Pengguna masih harus browsing halaman-halaman web hasil pencarian untuk mencari topik yang diinginkan satu-persatu. Untuk itu perlu dibuatkan aplikasi yang dapat mencari dan menyimpan halaman-halaman web dengan link-link-nya sesuai topik tanpa harus melalui proses browsing, sehingga hasilnya dapat dilihat secara offline. Aplikasi ini biasa disebut Web Grabber. Program aplikasi Web Grabber ini mendapatkan inputan berupa keyword dan kedalaman pencarian. Inputan ini akan diproses untuk memperoleh hasil berupa halaman - halaman web yang disimpan secara otomatis sesuai dengan keyword yang diberikan dan tingkat kedalaman pencariannya. Proses didahului dengan pencarian keyword pada search engine yang tersedia menjadi sebuah list yang dapat dipilih oleh pengguna. Hasil aplikasi ini berupa halaman - halaman web yang mengandung keyword. Aplikasi juga menyediakan fasilitas untuk browsing hasil yang didapat. Program yang dibuat berhasil melakukan penyimpanan halaman-halaman web sesuai dengan keyword yang diberikan dengan tingkat kedalaman tertentu, yang sebelumnya dicari melalui search engine Altavista atau Google. Halaman-halaman web yang mengandung keyword dapat diambil dan disimpan pada komputer sehingga dapat di-browse secara offline. Kata kunci: web grabber, keyword, kedalaman, search engine, internet.

Abstract

The relational data model approach is still used broadly in developing of data and information storage of the most application systems. The main restricted of using the relational model data das not support dynamically in storing information in which much more semantically of the knowledge must be kept on that data. On other hand, if information intend to be considered more formally concrete knowledge as in reality, it's difficult to retrieve the persistent data or information on the various ways of the user need. This paper has researched, analysed, and discussed of data modelling by using an ontology model based approached on constructing the data bank of flight schedule information as knowledge bases model. A protégé ontology software is used to arrange a model of flight schedule information in form of classes hierarchical, slots, and instances. The flight ontology model that has built can indicate much more semantics of flight schedule information. Additionally, the model can be used easily in form of many way of user perception need in order to make queries and results. Abstract in Bahasa Indonesia : Pendekatan model data relasional masih banyak dimanfaatkan untuk menyimpan data dan informasi terhadap banyak sistem aplikasi. Namun kendala utama menggunakan model relasional yang masih dirasakan hingga saat ini, adalah model data relasional kurang dinamis untuk mendukung penyimpanan informasi yang lebih bermakna secara semantis. Atau jika informasi yang disimpan dapat dipandang sebagai pengetahuan-pengetahuan yang lebih kongkrit, maka untuk melakukan pencarian dengan berbagai variasi pengetahuan terhadap data dan informasi akan menjadi sangat terbatas. Pada makalah telah diteliti, dianalisis, dan dibahas pemanfaatan sebuah pendekatan model data berbasis ontologi untuk menyimpan suatu basis data pengetahuan jadwal penerbangan. Dengan menggunakan protégé, model pengetahuan jadwal penerbangan disusun kedalam bentuk ontologi secara hirarki kelas, slot, dan instant. Model ontologi yang disusun mampu mendeskripsikan informasi jadwal penerbangan secara lebih semantis. Dan disamping itu, dari model yang telah dikembangkan menunjukan bahwa berbagai cara pengguna (menurut persepsi masing-masing) untuk melakukan pencarian informasi penerbangan ataupun hasil query dapat dibentuk secara lebih mudah. Kata kunci: semantis ontologi, manajemen pengetahuan, informasi cerdas, proses pengembangan ontologi.

Abstract

Technological growth has made a strong friction to the market. Customer becomes an important factor which must be paid attention to. Information which is easy to get increases customer's bargaining power. Customer always wants to get what they desire easily, cheaper, and of good quality. This structural change obliges a company to develop an e-Business strategy which is innovative, by focusing on the market. This structural change also requires a change in the business process on a large scale. At the same time, company has to develop an e-Business infrastructure that is oriented toward continuous service improvement and innovation. PT. V faces this structural change by developing an e-Business system for a VCD rental service. Using the system, which administers VCD rental with delivery system and SMS facility, customers can, by themselves, loan VCDs, return loaned VCDs, browse newest films, and perform other activities, just by sending SMS, without having to visit the rental place. For this reason, the customers will save time and money, become more efficient and effective. The use of SMS as a facility in e-Business has various advantages such as omitting problems with location and time for doing business, and omitting the errors of manual processing. In the end, e-Business is expected to raise market share and to adapt the company's business process according to customer's needs. Abstract in Bahasa Indonesia : Perkembangan teknologi telah membuat adanya pergeseran kekuatan kepada pelanggan atau pasar. Pelanggan menjadi faktor penting yang harus diperhatikan. Informasi yang semakin mudah diperoleh, membuat daya tawar pelanggan semakin tinggi dan pelanggan selalu ingin mendapat yang diinginkan dengan mudah, murah, berkualitas dan sesuai dengan kebutuhannya. Perubahan struktural ini mengharuskan sebuah perusahaan untuk mengembangkan sebuah strategi e-Bisnis yang inovatif, dengan memusatkan perhatian kepada pasar. Perubahan struktural ini juga membutuhkan proses perubahan secara besar-besaran. Pada waktu yang sama, perusahaan harus membangun sebuah infrastruktur e-Bisnis yang berorientasi pada perbaikan layanan secara kontinu dan inovatif. PT. V menyikapi perubahan struktural ini dengan membangun suatu sistem e-Bisnis untuk layanan persewaan VCD. Dengan sistem yang dibangun ini, yaitu sewa VCD dengan sistem antar dan SMS, pelanggan dapat melakukan sendiri proses peminjaman, pengembalian, melihat film terbaru, dan lain-lain dengan hanya mengirim SMS, tanpa perlu datang ke tempat persewaan. Untuk itu pelanggan akan menghemat waktu, uang, serta lebih efektif dan efisien. Penggunaan SMS sebagai fasilitas dalam e-Bisnis mempunyai berbagai keuntungan, seperti menghilangkan permasalahan jarak dan waktu, menghilangkan faktor kesalahan akibat adanya proses manual. Pemanfaatan e-Bisnis ini pada akhirnya diharapkan dapat menambah pangsa pasar dan dapat mengubah proses bisnis perusahaan sesuai dengan kebutuhan pelanggan. Abstract

In this paper, a light-weight MVC framework for smart device application is designed and implemented. The primary goal of the work is to provide a MVC framework for a commercial smart device product development. To this end, the developed framework presents integration between the classic design patterns, MVC and state-of-the-art technology XAML by adapting a MVC framework of an open source XAML efforts, MyXaml into .NET Compact Framework. As the compact framework only comprises 12% of .NET Framework library, some design and architectural changes of the existing framework need to be done to achieve the same abstraction level. The adapted framework enables to reduce the complexity of the smart device application development, reuse each component of the MVC separately in different project and provide a more manageable source code as the system architecture is more apparent from the source code itself as well as provide a commonality of the development pattern. A prototype of simple database interface application was built to show these benefits.

Abstract

Original ray tracing method can be used to create picture of objects that are very similar to photographic. However for simplicity, the method mimics a pinhole camera in its model. In pinhole camera all objects visualized in the image generated will be seen sharp. In some cases, this kind of image is acceptable but in other cases it is not. For example, in the movie industry, sometimes it is preferable to get the image that can be focused to a certain object and not to all objects. This effect occurs due to the usage of a lens in a camera. In order to get the same effect to the real camera, then it is necessary to modify the original ray tracing method to use lens in its model. The research performed here has successfully simulating the effect of lens in camera. Therefore only objects that are placed in the lens focus will be seen sharp while the others will become blurry.

Abstract

Production planning process often changed in schedule, process, or material quantity. Therefore, Production Planning Control (PPC) needs interactive application to help arrange the production scheduling to manage it easier and see the changed schedule immediately. The material requirement, process and schedule are calculated from customer's order. After that, the production scheduling is transform into Gantt chart which can manage it interactively. The schedule managing done by doing changing the process sequence, erasing the process, move the process, and break down the process. With this interactive scheduling, PPC can manage the production scheduling as the existing system changing. Abstract in Bahasa Indonesia : Penjadwalan proses produksi sering kali mengalami perubahan baik jadwal, proses, maupun jumlah bahan baku. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan pembuatan aplikasi yang interaktif sehingga bagian Production Planning Control (PPC) dapat mengatur jadwal produksi dengan mudah dan dapat langsung melihat perubahan jadwal yang dilakukan. Pesanan dari pelanggan akan dihitung kebutuhan bahan baku dan ditentukan proses serta penjadwalannya. Kemudian dibuat jadwal produksi dalam bentuk Gantt chart yang dapat diatur secara interaktif. Pengaturan jadwal dapat dilakukan dengan melakukan perubahan terhadap urutan proses, menghapus salah satu proses, menggeser proses, dan memecah proses. Dengan adanya penjadwalan yang interaktif ini, PPC dapat mengubah jadwal produksi sesuai dengan perubahan yang terjadi pada sistem yang sedang berjalan. Abstract

Currently, there are three methods for a student to obtain student academic data in Petra Christian University, that is via the ASIT terminal, PRS-ASIT website and telephone. Technological advancements today have made using the SMS feature in cell phones easier. And, with the use of SMS to serve academic data, those data can quickly be provided for students wherever and whenever they need them. To fully utilize this opportunity, an SMS service system will be designed to provide students with academic data is developed together with Petra Christian University's Academic Administration Firm. The system is developed using PHP 4.3.8 with MySQL 3.23.49 as the database server, and Apache2 as the web server. For the SMS hardware, an Itegno 3000 GSM Modem is used. And for the SMS gateway, Now SMS is used. From implementation and test results, it can be concluded that the SMS service system using an Itegno 3000 GSM Modem is capable of providing academic data in a clear and easily understandable format. The administrator website also functions well, providing administrators with an easy way to do maintenance tasks to the system. Abstract in Bahasa Indonesia : Pada saat ini di Universitas Kristen Petra telah tersedia tiga metode untuk mengakses data akademik mahasiswa, yaitu terminal ASIT, web PRS-ASIT serta telepon. Kemajuan teknologi yang ada sekarang telah memungkinkan penggunaan fasilitas SMS pada handphone semakin mudah, dan penggunaan SMS untuk layanan data akademik mahasiswa akan memungkinkan penyediaan data akademik kepada mahasiswa secara cepat, kapanpun dan dimanapun mereka membutuhkannya. Oleh karena itu, akan dirancang sebuah sistem layanan data akademik mahasiswa melalui SMS yang dikembangkan dengan bekerja sama dengan Biro Administrasi Akademik Universitas Kristen Petra. Pemrograman dilakukan dengan menggunakan bahasa pemrograman PHP 4.3.8, database server MySQL 3.23.49, serta web server Apache2. Untuk SMS hardware digunakan modem GSM Itegno 3000 dan untuk SMS gateway digunakan Now SMS. Dari hasil implementasi sistem dan uji coba, disimpulkan bahwa sistem layanan data akademik melalui SMS dengan menggunakan modem GSM Itegno 3000 ini telah berhasil memberikan layanan data akademik dengan format yang jelas dan mudah dimengerti. Administrator website juga berfungsi dengan baik sehingga memudahkan administrator untuk melakukan maintenance pada sistem. Kata kunci: layanan data akademik, modem GSM, SMS.

Abstract

In this paper, we will describe an algorithm for geodesic distance calculation that applied at the surface of triangular mesh object, to analyze its efficiency and accuracy. We applied the Fast Marching Method on Triangulated Domain (FMM On TD) with O(n lg n) time complexity, where n is the number of point/triangle vertex that represent the surface. The main task of this algorithm is to do the front propagation step from the starting point to all possible direction to obtained the final point. Every step of this algorithm, will calculate the distance from the current point to the starting point. After the calculation of the geodesic distance finished, the next process is to build the geodesic path. The main task of this step is to do the back propagation step at the object surface from the final point to the starting point. Based on the experimental result, the accuracy of the FMM on TD algorithm is more than 95%. This accuracy depend on the number of the triangles that represent the surface. The accuracy of the geodesic path and the computational times are depends on the number of the triangles that used to represent the surface Abstract in Bahasa Indonesia : Dalam makalah ini akan dibahas penerapan algoritma perhitungan geodesic distance pada permukaan obyek triangular mesh untuk dibuktikan tingkat keakuratan dan efisiensinya. Algoritma yang diterapkan adalah Fast Marching Method on Triangulated Domain (FMM on TD) yang berjalan dengan kompleksitas waktu O(n lg n), dimana n adalah jumlah titik pada permukaan. Inti dari algoritma ini adalah melakukan front propagation dari titik awal ke segala arah yang mungkin sampai diperoleh titik akhir. Setiap bergerak maju algoritma ini selalu menghitung nilai jarak suatu titik terhadap titik awal. Setelah proses perhitungan geodesic distance selesai, dilakukan proses pembuatan geodesic path. Inti dari proses ini adalah melakukan back propagation pada permukaan dari titik akhir sampai diperoleh titik awal. Berdasarkan uji coba, tingkat keakuratan algoritma FMM on TD adalah lebih dari 95%. Keakuratan ini dipengaruhi oleh jumlah segitiga pembentuk permukaan. Semakin banyak segitiga semakin akurat geodesic distance yang dihasilkan, tetapi waktu yang dibutuhkan untuk melakukan proses perhitungan menjadi semakin lama.
