Abstract

Febrile seizures are seizures that occur in children aged 6 months to 5 years who experience an increase in body temperature (temperature above 38° C). Batanghari Regency is the district with the highest cases of febrile seizures in children. The health center with the highest incidence of febrile convulsions in children is Penerokan Community Health Center. The aim of the research was to determine the relationship between the level of parental knowledge about febrile seizures and the incidence of febrile seizures in children aged 1-5 years at the UPTD Penerokan Community Health Center. This research is a quantitative study, cross sectional design. Data collection was carried out on 24 July 2023 – 30 July 2023 at the UPTD Penerokan Community Health Center. The sample consisted of 87 respondents. The sampling technique is accidental sampling. The analysis carried out was univariate and bivariate analysis. The statistical test used is the chi square test. The research results showed that more than half of the children experienced febrile convulsions (62.1%), most of the parents' knowledge was lacking (37.9%), there was a relationship between the level of parental knowledge about febrile convulsions and the incidence of febrile convulsions (p value = 0.000). . Nurses try to increase parents' understanding regarding the management of children who experience febrile convulsions by providing flip sheets or posters that parents can display at home, which can be easily read so that when a febrile convulsion occurs, parents are prepared to deal with the problem of febrile convulsions in children.

Abstract

Hypertension and its complications are the number one cause of death globally. Diabetes mellitus is one of the contributing factors to hypertension. Diabetes mellitus can occur due to pancreatic disorders that do not produce enough insulin. Diabetes mellitus can occur along with hypertension as a result of pathological psoses from the clinical course of diabetes. This study was conducted on 28 August to 16 September 2023. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between the duration of DM and the incidence of hypertension in type II DM patients. The type of research used is correlational analytic with a cross sectional approach. The number of samples in this study were 52 respondents using purposive sampling technique by collecting data, namely Total Samplig and statistical tests using Chi Squere. The results of the research obtained from respondents who suffered from DM> 5 years were 32 (61.5%) respondents and respondents who suffered from DM < 5 years were 20 (38.5%) respondents. The results showed a relationship between the length of time suffering from DM and the incidence of hypertension in type II DM patients with a value (p Value = 0.004), with the majority of sufferers being women. Respondents should always routinely control blood sugar levels and blood pressure in order to maintain their health, and nurses need to measure the length of time suffering from DM with the incidence of hypertension in type II DM patients to prevent more severe complications.

The results of the research obtained from Kaya Pangur Village, Deleng Pokhkisen District, Aceh Tenggara Regency can be seen that river water user factors are factors related to skin complaints because the p-value is ≤ 0.05. This research still requires further study on solutions to prevent skin diseases, especially in river water users in the Kaya Pangur Village area, Deleng Pokhkisen District, Southeast Aceh Regency. So that the level of public health will continue to increase.

Abstract

Stunting is a serious nutritional problem that is evident from shorter body length or height in children under five compared to children of the same age. The prevalence of stunting in Indonesia increased from 2010 to 2013, from 35.6% to 37.2%. The factors that influence the incidence of stunting in children are maternal age, pregnancy distance, maternal history of disease, nutritional status during pregnancy, and LBW. The purpose of this study was to determine the factors associated with the incidence of stunting in the Siulak Mukai Health Centre Working Area, Kerinci Regency in 2023. This type of research is descriptive analytic with cross sectional design. This research was conducted in April-August 2023. The population is the mother of infants 0-2 years as many as 192 people and a sample of 66 people taken by Systematic Random Sampling. Data analysis consisted of univariate analysis and bivariate analysis using the chi-square statistical test. The results showed that a small proportion (19.7%) of toddlers were stunted, the age of mothers at risk was only 5 people (7.6%), less than half (21.2%) of respondents with risky pregnancy distance, more than half (54.5%) of respondents with a history of disease during pregnancy, less than half (24.2%) of respondents with nutritional status during pregnancy were not appropriate, and respondents with LBW children were only 6 people (9.1%). There was a significant association between maternal age (0.048), maternal history of disease (0.034), nutritional status during pregnancy (0.001), and LBW (0.012) with the incidence of stunting and there was no significant association between gestational distance (1.000) with the incidence of stunting. Therefore, there is a significant relationship between maternal age, maternal history of disease, nutritional status during pregnancy, and LBW with the incidence of stunting and there is no significant relationship between pregnancy spacing and the incidence of stunting in the working area of Puskesmas Siulak Mukai, Kerinci Regency in 2023.

Abstract

According to the World Health Organization, in 2018 there were an estimated 214 million cases of malaria, and there were 438,000 deaths worldwide due to suffering from malaria. Most malaria cases are in Africa, 88% of which result in death. The aim of this research is to determine the relationship between family support and prevention of malaria transmission at the Mapaddegat Community Health Center. This type of research is quantitative using a cross sectional design with a total sample of 63 respondents, with the sampling technique using Total Sampling. Data measurement tools used questionnaires and checklists, and were analyzed using univariate and bivariate data analysis. The results showed that more than half of the respondents (57.1%) had poor family support and more than half of the respondents (52.4%) had poor prevention of malaria transmission. Based on the bivariate analysis, the results showed that there was a relationship between family support and the prevention of malaria transmission at the Mapaddegat Health Center with a P Value = 0.004. It was concluded that there is a relationship between family support and prevention of malaria transmission. It is hoped that this research can be used as a source of information for health workers to pay more attention to family support for malaria prevention so that the incidence of malaria can be controlled.
