Abstract

Student outcomes of learning are simply changes in behavior as a learning result. Outcomes in result are the attainment of educational goals for students who participate in the teaching and process of learning. The reality on the ground found that the outcomes of learning mathematics by Class VIII students of MTsN 2 Lima Puluh Kota for the 2022/2023 learning year are still low. The solution that can will be increase outcomes in learning by student in mathematics is to apply the type is model learning in cooperative for student achievement divisions. The research purpose was to give description whether the mathematics learning outcomes of students who studied using the student team achievement divisions cooperative model in learning were better than those who learned by direct learning in class VIII MTsN 2 Lima Puluh Kota. This research type was quasi-experimental with a randomized control-group only design. The research population were students of class VIII MTsN 2 Lima Puluh Kota. The selected for sample was carried out by using technique in random sampling. The instrument used is a mathematics learning achievement test in consist of essay questions. Based on the research in analysis of data results at the real level and P-value = 0.0228 using the U test, we known that the outcomes of learning by students who studied using the type is model learning in cooperative for student achievement divisions were bettermore good than students who studied using the model of learning in direct for class VIII MTsN 2 Lima Puluh Kota.Keywords– Mathematics Learning Outcomes, Student Teams Achievement Divisions, Direct Learning

Abstract

Understanding of mathematical concepts is one of the cognitive abilities that are expected to be possessed by every student in learning mathematics. However, in reality it appears that understanding the mathematical concepts of students in class VIII of SMP 3 Padang is still low, so it needs to be improved. One effort to overcome this is by applying a learning model that can facilitate students in understanding the material and building their own knowledge. The learning model that can be applied is the TPS type cooperative learning model. Based on these problems, a research was conducted to describe whether the understanding of the mathematical concepts of students who learned using the TPS type cooperative learning model was better than the ability to understand the mathematical concepts of students using conventional learning models in class VIII SMP 3 Padang. This type of research is quasi-experimental with static group design. The results of this study indicate that the ability to understand the mathematical concepts of students who learn to apply the TPS model is better than the ability to understand the mathematical concepts of students whose learning implements conventional learning in class VIII SMP Negeri 3 Padang. Keywords – Understanding of mathematical concept,Think Pair Share, Conventional learning.

Abstract

 Purpose of mathematics is one of the things that must be achieved when learning mathematics. To achieve this goal, students are expected to be able to master the direct objects of mathematics, so students understand the topic and do not make any mistakes. But based on the fact, students of X MIPA 4 SMA Negeri 1 Ampek Angkek still do the mistakes in solving mathematics problems and that means, students still not comprehend the topics and the purpose of mathematics still not reached. So, student error analysis is the solution to solve this problem. The research approach is qualitative and the type of research is descriptive. Subject of this research is X MIPA 4 SMA Negeri 1 Ampek Angkek with 9 students were interviewed. The data in this research are data from document analysis, test, and interview. Data analysis techniques in this research are reduction of data, data display, and conclusion. According to the research, there are 81,25% students do conceptual errors because they can’t select the formula well and still didn’t understand the topic, 14,06% students do procedural errors because they aren’t used to solve the variety of question, and 4,69% students do technical errors because of the their careless and time management.Keywords __ Student error analysis, kastolan, conceptual errors, procedural errors, technical errors, vector

Abstract

One measure of success in the learning process is the attainment of learning outcomes. However, grade VIII at SMP Negeri 25 Padang still struggle with maths. This is due to low student learning engagement. The Discovery Learning model combined with digital media was chosen as an effort to overcome this issue. This quasi-experimental research uses a nonequivalent posttest only control group design. The P-value of 0.002, below the significance level α = 0.05, was found after data analysis using the t-test. The Discovery Learning model using digital media is better in improving learning outcomes class VIII SMP Negeri 25 Padang compared to conventional learning.Keywords– Mathematics Learning Outcomes, Discovery Learning, Digital Media

Abstract

Mathematical communication skills are one of the goal of mathematics learning that must be achieved by students. But in the reality at SMAN 2 Padang this ability is still not optimal and do not facilitated yet for improving those skill well. One effort to overcome these problems is to apply the Relating, Experiencing, Applying, Cooperating, Transferring (REACT) strategies. This type of research is quasi-experimental and descriptive research design with Randomized Control Group Only Design. The authentication of the research hypotheses using t-test.Based on the results of data analysis, it was concluded that the mathematical communication skills of students who learn using the REACT strategies is better than the mathematical communication skills of students who learn by direct learning in class XII IPS SMAN 2 Padang. Abstract

One goal of mathematics learnings understanding mathematical concepts that are expected to be owned by students. But the reality is that in Adabiah 2 Senior High School Padang is still not optimal or still low. Learning strategies have not been able to improve the concepts of students. If understanding the concept is low, it will affect other mathematical abilities. The purpose of this research is and to know and describe whether the understanding of the concepts of students who learn with REACT strategies is better than understanding the concepts of students who learn with direct learning models in class XI MIPA SMA Adabiah 2 Padang and to know and describe the improvement in understanding of the concepts of learners who learn with REACT strategy. This type of research is quasy experiment and descriptive research design with Randomized Control Group Design. The population is class XI MIPA Adabiah 2 Padang High School with research samples namely class XI MIPA 1 and XI MIPA 2. Research instruments in the form of quizzes and concept understanding tests. Data on the development of this ability is described through quiz results, while the test results are analyzed by t-test. Based on the quiz results obtained that the development of conceptual understanding increased with the REACT strategy, and based on the results of the test analysis it was found that the real level of α = 0.05 t-test obtained P-value = 0.00 because P-value < α, then H0 was rejected . This means that understanding the concepts of students who learn with REACT strategies is better than understanding the concepts of students who learn by direct learning models in class XI MIPA Adabiah 2 Padang High School in 2019/2020 Academic Year.Keywords – Mathematical Concept Understanding, REACT Strategy.

Abstract

– The ability to solve mathematical problems is one of the skills expected to be owned and developed in mathematics learning. However, in reality the problem solving ability in mathematical of students from class VII SMPN 19 Padang is still not optimal. To respond these problems, solution are made to use the Problem Based Learning model. The research purpose was to look whether the problem solving skills in mathematical of students in class VII SMPN 19 Padang who studied using the model of Problem Based Learning were better than those who studied using conventional learning models. The research type used was quasi-experimental through The Nonequivalent Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design. The population for research was class VII students of SMPN 19 Padang. The instrument for research used was the pretest (pretest) and posttest (posttest) of problem solving ability in mathematical. Based on the final test results of hypothesis test (posttest) mathematical problem solving ability with α = 0.05 obtained P-Value <α, which means ????0 is rejected. We got conclussion that the skills of problem solving in mathematical of students who studied using the model of Problem Based Learning were better than those who studied using conventional learning models.Keywords– Mathematical Problem Solving Ability, Problem Based Learning Models, Conventional Learning Models.

Abstract

Understanding of mathematical concepts was one of a bilities that must be known by students. Based on the observation, understanding of mathematical concepts and learning activities of students in grade VII SMPN 12 Padang were still low and needed to be improved again, so that students could understand concepts well. Purpose of this study were to describe learning activities of students and to know whether student’s understanding ofmathematical conceptswho learned by using cooperative learning modelTTW type was better than those who learned by using conventional learning in grade VII SMPN 12 Padang. This study was a combination between descriptive study and quasi-experimental with static group design. Sampling was done by simple random sampling. Based on result of data analysis, it can be concluded that student’s understanding of mathematical concepts using cooperative learning model TTW type is better than those using conventional learning.Keywords –mathematical concepts, learning activities,think talk write.

Abstract

The aims this research is to develop learning media in the form of animated videos with a contextual approach to valid and practical curved side space material. The type of this research.is development.research.by.the Plomp rnodel which is grouped in the prelirnrinary research phase, prototyping phase, and assessrnent stage. Preliminary research stage includes analysis of needs, analysis of student, analysis of curriculum, and analysis of material. Prototyping phase is the stage for developing CTL-based learning videos with the application of powtoon on curved side-space materials. The prototype must go through evaluation with several stage in the form of self-evaluation and”expert”reviews to obtain a valid prototype. Results demonstrate that the CTL-based learning video with the application of powtoon on curved side space’’has a validity’’ level of 86.11% with.a.very.valid category and.the.practicality level with a very practical category is 87.15% by students and 94.37% by educators. Keywords– Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL), video powtoon application, video teaching learning.

Abstract

The problen in this research is the low ability of mathematical communication that belongs to grade VIII students of SMP N 21 Padang. Teacher based learning is the cause of low learners mathematical skill. One of the many solutions that can improve the mathematical communication skill of the students is the implementation of Think Talk Write (TTW) cooperative learning modell. The reason of Think Talk Write (TTW) type learning modell is chosen to facilitate students to practice speaking both orally and writing. The purpose of this the study is to knowing and describe whether mathematical communication skills learned to use a Think Talk Write cooperative learning modell is better than the mathematical communication skills of the learners that to use direct learning modell in class VIII SMPN 21 Padang Year lesson 2018/2019. This research is conducted with the type of Quasy experiment research by using the modell design Randomized Control-Group  Only Design. The sample of this research is the student of VIII. Final tests and quizzers are the instruments used to collect data in this study. The result is the mathematical communication skill of learness who use a Think Talk Write modell of cooperative learning can improve.
