Abstract

A new paradigm in social studies education needs to be implemented as an effort to enhance the quality of the educational process and meet the evolving societal demands for education. Consequently, innovations in social studies education can be effectively carried out when guided by the results of evaluations and research in the field of social studies education. Learning can be conducted within collaborative study groups, emphasizing group-based learning. Until now, this approach has not been intentionally developed within the instructional process, hence presenting a challenge and a demand for educational innovation. Once implemented, it will be capable of addressing the shortcomings of the instructional methods that have been applied in educational institutions.

Abstract

The main competence of social studies learning is inseparable from the mastery of social knowledge and social skills in preparing students to become good citizens of society and the nation. This research aims to describe the strategies for developing social knowledge and social skills in social studies learning at SMPN 1 Monta. The research method used is qualitative descriptive. Data were obtained from interviews and observations at SMPN 1 Monta with both teachers and students. The data analysis involved a stepwise data verification process and used three approaches to qualitative data analysis: Data Display, Data Interpretation, and Drawing Conclusions. The results of this research show that teachers use strategies to transform social knowledge correlated with daily life content in the surrounding environment, making the material understanding directly meaningful to students. Meanwhile, to enhance students' social skills, guidance and reinforcement of local social values and national character values are conducted, enabling students to internalize these values and become moral benchmarks for behavior in the school and community where they reside.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the contribution of parenting school to students' learning outcomes in the Civic Education subject at SDN No. 25 Panaikang, Bissappu Sub-District, Bantaeng Regency. This study is of quantitative nature, utilizing a survey method with correlational techniques. Data collection was carried out through observation, documentation, and questionnaires. The results of this study indicate: (1) The applied Parenting School to students at SDN No. 25 Panaikang, Bissappu Sub-District, Bantaeng Regency, based on student data, categorized 62 students (95.4%); (2) The learning outcomes of students at SDN No. 25 Panaikang, Bissappu Sub-District, Bantaeng Regency, are categorized as high for 13 students (20%), medium for 41 students (63.1%), and low for 11 students (16.9%), resulting in an overall medium learning outcome; (3) There is a contribution of parenting school to students' learning outcomes at SDN No. 25 Panaikang, Bissappu Sub-District, Bantaeng Regency. This can be observed from the research results regarding parenting school's influence on learning outcomes, where the calculated r value is greater than the tabled r value (0.375 > 0.244) and the coefficient of determination is 0.141, indicating a positive and significant contribution of 51.1%.

Abstract

The purpose of this research are; (1) Analyze the Civics Teacher's ability to design learning models; (2) Describe the Civics Teacher's ability to implement the learning model; (3) Analyze the factors that influence the Civics Teacher's ability to apply the learning model. Qualitative research methods. Data collection techniques were carried out by interviews, observation and documentation. Meanwhile, the data analysis technique uses data reduction, data presentation and conclusion drawing stages. The research results show that; (1) Civics Teachers' ability to plan learning models, namely; (a) consider learning objectives, so that they can be easily implemented in a structured manner; (b) Considering the suitability between the model selection and the material being taught in order to facilitate the students' understanding process; (2) The teacher's ability to use learning models, namely; (a) Discovery learning model, as a Civics learning strategy; (b) The teacher's ability to use the discovery learning model, seen in the syntax, is appropriate; (c) the discovery learning learning model is very mastered by the teacher and supported by resources; (3) The factors that influence the teacher's ability to use learning models, namely; (a) The ability of the teacher himself to use the learning model; (b) Learning objectives to be achieved; (c) Differences in students in utilizing their knowledge.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to produce social studies teaching materials based on a contextual approach for class VII students of SMPN. Teaching materials contain material on economic activities related to natural resources and other potentials in the region. This research method, namely research and development (R&D) this research involved class VII students of SMPN 1 Jaya Pura. This study used questionnaires, observations, and interviews through the stages of expert trials, one-on-one evaluations, small group evaluations, and field tests. The results showed that the development of social studies teaching materials based on contextual learning could achieve very good learning outcomes.
