Abstract

The environmental issues that usually arise from mining activities are ex-coal mining lands in the form of mine pits (void) and land (non void) which are not managed properly. The company has an obligation to manage ex-coal mining land so that the environment remains sustainable and benefits the community by carrying out reclamation activities. Reclamation of ex-coal mining land by planting oil palm provides benefits in the form of incomes and as a carbon assimilator. This study aims to analyze the economics value of the ex-coal mining land use as a carbon assimilator by using the extended NPV analysis method. The result of analysis revealed a positive extended NPV value of IDR. 1,961,057,020,-, which means that ex-coal mining land can provide positive benefits as a carbon assimilator.

Abstract

Pillar is a part of the deposition of excavated material that is left behind to sustain the rock weight above it. The aim of this study was to determine the effect of height and diameter ratio on the strength of the pillar obtained from uniaxial compressive strength testing and numerical modeling. Laboratory test results showed that pillars with a ratio of 1.5 H/D did not show an increase in strength of 1.83%, while pillars with a ratio of 1 H/D gave a more significant increase in strength, which was 32.99%. The numerical modeling simulation with RS2 9.0 software showed that the strength factor values for pillars with an H/D ratio of 1.5, 2 and 1 having values below 1 at the same pressure as laboratory test results. Therefore, the most appropriate pillar design used in underground mining using the room and pillars method was a pillar with a ratio of H/D = 1.

Abstract

Indonesia economic development cannot be separated from the role of natural resources, one of the natural resources that currently supports the Indonesian economy is coal. This research was conducted in order to see the prospects for coal mining activities at PT. Cipta Kridatama, site PT. Kuansing Inti Makmur (PT KIM), Bungo Regency, Jambi province through an analysis of management strategies in the form of investment feasibility. The research methodology used is descriptive qualitative in nature referring to quantitative studies, comparative studies (comparisons), and correlational studies. Data collection techniques are carried out by: field research, literature study and secondary data collection such as RKAB of the company. Based on field research, the data obtained included cropline roofs and M4 floor seam, coal strike and dip, overall highwall slope and outcrop area (section). The results of the investment feasibility study were obtained from coal resources based on a stripping ratio (SR) of 1:4.56. From the calculation results, the net present value (NPV) is greater than 0, which is 16,169,241,885, so it can be concluded that this project is considered economical and feasible to mine. The internal rate of return (IRR) is 19.807%, means that PT. Cipta Kridatama was able to return the invested capital with an increase in interest rates reaching 19.807%. Meanwhile, based on the payback period (PBP) calculation, it shows that the time needed for the investment capital to return is 5.6 years, this shows that the payback period is smaller than the project implementation period. The project ratio value (PI)>1 is 3.9537 which means the project is feasible to operate. The calculation has adjusted the discount rate, so the present value (PV) of coal mining PT. Cipta Kridatama of IDR 17,981,921,072.4 according to the discount level. Benefit cost ratio (BCR) value from PT. Cipta Kridatama is 24.66, which means the project is feasible to operate with the profits from the project are greater than the expenses so that the project is acceptable or feasible to continue.

Abstract

Tailings Storage Facility (TSF) has environmental impacts and risks arising from the tailings storage. Water balance is an important component in TSF management. In this study, the water balance was analyzed to determine the method of handling TSF during mine closure, to reduce the risk of environmental pollution. Analysis of the rainfall and potential evaporation parameters was used to calculate the water discharge that must be managed in mine closure. The method of selecting daily maximum rainfall data was used to analyze the need for TSF facilities. Meanwhile, for mine closure TSF filling, scenarios for extreme climate conditions were made for the rainfall and potential evaporation parameters which were then analyzed to determine the water balance. Based on the daily data analysis, the maximum amount of water discharge that must be managed at the TSF was 1.511 m3/s. Meanwhile, for TSF charging, it was found that the fastest charging scenario took 31.8 months and for the longest charging it took 110.4 months. To determine the method of handling TSF during mine closure, the results of water balance analysis for several scenarios of climatic conditions resulted in the minimum thickness of the water column ranging from 6 - 8 m. Based on the analysis of several scenarios of climatic conditions, the mine closure method for handling TSF was water cover.

Abstract

PT. Zlaw Group Boyolali is a company of andesite mining located in Wates Hamlet, Seboto Village, Gladagsari District, Boyolali Regency, Central Java Province. The potential of andesite in the area is encouraging and the absence of supporting data about the distribution and resources of andesite brings PT. Zlaw Group Boyolali to conducting exploration. The objective of this study is to analyze the interpretation of geoelectric measurements of the dipole-dipole configuration and calculate the volume of andesite resources based on geostatistics optimization at the research location and compare the estimation results with previous studies. The research activity was carried out by measuring 2-dimensional geoelectrical resistivity using a dipole-dipole configuration of 12 passes, which covered 100% of the research area. Based on the results of geostatistics optimization, parameters obtained include: nugget 0.224053, sill 0.641390, range 67.749, major/semi-major 1.188, and major/minor 2.073. Soil volume is 1,245,750 m3 with a tonnage of 3,238,950 tons, a weathered andesite volume of 999,656 m3 with a tonnage of 2,599,106 tons, and fresh andesite volume of 1,437,925 m3 with a tonnage of 3,738,605 tons.
