Abstract

This study is descriptive research that aimed to find out the fish species which capture by fishermen in Limboto lakes, index of diversity and fish nutrition status. This study using survey method and was done in 6 month, from February to July 2007. Sampling was done in 3 stations, those are, 1st station in Batudaa, 2nd station in Limboto, and 3rd station in Telaga. Sampling based on the type of the capture equipment with 6 replications. The captured fish was identified by determination key, the index of diversity determined using Shannon-wiener diversity index. The fish nutrition index determined using Foultons formula about the coefficient of fish nutrition value. The result showed, there are 12 species fish that captured by fisherman in Limboto lake, those are, Oreochromis niloticus (Ikan Nila), Oreochromis mossambicus (Ikan Mujair), Glossogobius giurus (Ikan Manggabai), Ophiochara sp (Ikan Belosoh), Ophiochara porocephala (payangga), Trichogaste trichopterus (Ikan Sepat), Clarias batrachus (Ikan Lele), Trichogaster pectoralis (Ikan Sepat Siam), Clarias striata (Ikan Gabus), Anabas testudineus (Ikan Betok), Berbodes gonionotus (Ikan Tawes) dan Angguilla marmorata (Ikan Sidat). Index diversity value (H) is 6,48 and the coefficient of fish nutrition (NVC) of Oreochromis niloticus is 1,92, Oreochromos mosambicus is 1,57, Glossogobius giurus is 0,70, Ophiochara sp is 0,91, Ophiochara porocephala is 0,97, Trichagaster trichopterus is 1,42, Clarias batrachus is 1,27, Trichogaster pectroralis 1,37, Channa striata 2,16, Anabas testudineus is 1,55, Barbodes gonionotus is 1,3 and Anguilla marmorata is 1,95

Abstract

Eugenol has been isolated and identified from oil of lawang (Cinnamomum cullilawan, BL). Before conducting isolation lawang oil was characterized. The eugenol was separated from the oil by fractional distillation under reduced pressure. The purities of all products were tested with gas liquid chromatography and determination of physical constants, such as refractive index and density. The structures were identified with infrared spectrophotometry, 1H nuclear magnetic resonance spectrometry, and mass spectrometry. The experimental result showed that the percentage yield of eugenol obtained from oil of lawang was 25,51 %.

Abstract

Abstract

The objectives of this study were to count the microbial biomass on sediment and water of Limboto lake and to determinate the microbial diversity on sediment and water based on their metabolic activity through the enrichment ex-situ microcosmos technique. The study done in 2 steps were sampling of sediment and water on Limboto lake and laboratorium observation. pH and temperature were physical indicator of sample and laboratory observation was microbial count (bacteria) based on plate count method. The microbial diversity determinated by the enrichment ex-situ microcosmos technique (winogradky colomn). The microbial diversity observed in 21 days base on the physical and chemistry changing. The study was succesfully counting microbial biomass on sediment and water Limboto lake. The count of microbial biomass was 6.45x107 CFUgr-1 (in sediment) and 2.18x106 CFUml-1 (the water). The enrichment ex-situ microcosmos technique with winogradsky colomn was succesfully determinate microbial diversity based on microbial metabolic activity. The microbial metaolic activity was show through physical, chemistry and biological change on sediment and water sample. That means was aquatic ecosystem on Limboto lake contain some microbial metabolic groups (guilds). The guilds were show microbial activity in the ecosystem, especially on sediment colomn, microaerophylic and water colomn.

Abstract

Trimetyltin-1,1,2,3,3- pentacyanopropenid compound is the stable organometall complex, which is macromolecules compound. This compound is synthesized from trimetyltinchlorid, (CH3)3SnCl, and silver pentacyanopropenid, AgC8N5, in water. This compound crystallized in orthorombic and in space group Pnnm. Crystal data show that: a = 7.794(1) , b = 10.821(1) , c = 11.462(1) pm; a = b = 90, g =103.84o; cell volume = 966.80 (16) 3. Compound structure arranged in two ion, namely [C3(CN)5]- anion and [(CH3)3]+ cation.

Abstract

Sulawesi is a priceless island for biology conservation due to the fact that it has high level of endemic. This is not only the proud for Sulawesi, but also the huge responsibility to bear. Sulawesi is supposed to manage it so that it will benefit future life. Yet, the irresponsible deed has ended up in the rapid extinction of flora and fauna in Sulawesi and other islands in Indonesia. Since 1931 the endemic fauna in Sulawesi has been classified into scarce protected fauna. We have no rights to catch, hurt, kill, store, possess, keep, carry, and sell live or dead fauna. Although there have been a lot of activities for preserving the continuity of this wildlife and laws that rule the preservation, but extinction still threatens. Therefore, these laws must be implemented well. Besides, it is necessary to set a sustainable well organized effort that involve government and people in order to keep this wildlife since the variety of flora and fauna is part of our priceless natural resources.
