Abstract

The increasing prevalence of central obesity in adolescents is accompanied by an increase in risk factors for cardiovascular disease. The study aims to analyze the relationship between central obesity and the risk of hypertension in obese adolescents, including both male and female subjects. This study was undertaken to provide opportunities for further exploration of the relationship between central obesity and hypertension in adolescents. The study was a retrospective observational study that utilized medical record data from a previous research project entitled "Polimorfisme Gen Adiponectin ADIPOQ +45 T>G, ADIPOQ – 11377 C>G dengan Kadar Adiponektin Pada Remaja Obesitas dan Resiko Sindrom Metabolik." This data was obtained from research conducted on obese adolescents aged 13-18 years in junior and senior high schools in Surabaya and Sidoarjo who met the criteria. The sample comprised 140 obese adolescents, who were then categorized into two groups: those without central obesity and those with central obesity. Statistical data were analyzed using SPSS with the Chi Square test. There is a very strong and significant relationship between central obesity and the risk of hypertension in obese adolescents (p = 0.000; r = 0.373); central obesity and the risk of hypertension in obese male adolescents (p = 0.001; r = 0.587); and central obesity and the risk of hypertension in obese female adolescents (p = 0.003; r = 0.300). The study found a significant relationship between central obesity and hypertension risk in obese adolescents. Adolescents with central obesity were 3.6 times more likely to develop hypertension than those without. Male adolescents with central obesity were 6.5 times more likely to develop hypertension than those without. Female adolescents with central obesity were 2.9 times more likely to develop hypertension

Abstract

Demang is a customary leader who serves as the chief of customary region (kedemangan). The research method used in this research is based on empirical legal research on primary and secondary data. The data was qualitatively processed and analyzed. The overall results of the analysis are descriptively presented, that is describing the problems fully combined with critical commentaries. The theory used in this thesis is the theory of the Legal System Theory by Lawrence M. Friedman and some teachings on traditional case handling by Moh. Koesnoe. Both these theories are used as a analysis knife to dissect and analyze the issues being studied. The discussion and the conclusion of this thesis, can be described as follows: (1).The existence of the position of Demang as a Peace Judge of indigenous communities judicially recognized in the legislation in force and still adhered to by the Dayak people in Palangkaraya, (2).In performing its functions, Demang as a Peace Judge of indigenous communities, always prioritizes the ways of peace settlement based on the principle of harmony, mutual grindstones, mutual love, mutual care, so as to solve the problem completely and the results can satisfy all parties, (3).In fact, the Dayak community legal culture in Palangkaraya strongly supports the effective execution of tasks of Demang as a Judge of Peace, from the cases that came to kedemangan, none of the cases has been brought to the level above kedemangan or appeal to local courts, (4).In current conditions, the role of Demang as a Judge of Peace needs to be enhanced in order to remain effective and not lose its function. Steps of empowerment can be done internally and externally, internally more on improving human resources and ways to resolve cases of indigenous peoples. Then externally rather the provision of facilities and infrastructure supporting the Demang duties performance as a Indigenous Judge of Peace

Abstract

Obesity is a condition where excessive fat is accumulated, which poses a health risk. Several treatments for obesity have been carried out, ranging from lifestyle adjustments to medication to surgery. Corrosolic acid (CA) is a natural compound that has the potential to act as an obesity agent through many mechanisms, including through reactive oxygen species (ROS). This study aims to prove that CA can reduce MDA levels and HMG-CoA reductase levels and increase leptin levels and GLP-1 levels in male Wistar rats with obesity. Wistar obese rats were orally treated with CA compound induction at a dose of 10 mg/Kg BW. MDA, HMG-CoA reductase, leptin and GLP-1 levels were examined using serum and plasma from mice in both groups of mice before and after treatment, using the ELISA method. CA to the treatment group can reduce the body weight of rat MDA levels significantly at p<0.0001, HMG-CoA reductase levels significantly at p<0.0001 and increase leptin and GLP-1 levels significantly at p<0.0001. CA's mechanism for treating obesity is through the ROS mechanism because CA has antioxidant levels that can capture free radicals in the body.CA has been proven to be an alternative drug in treating obesity by reducing body weight, MDA, and HMG-CoA levels and increasing leptin and GLP-1 levels in obese Wistar rats.
