Abstract

Stories about saints are generally found in various historiographical texts or constitute local history. However, the correctness of the text is still questionable. Babad Bakalan is a text that as a whole reveals matters of a historiographical or local history, and the manuscript is reliable. Abstract

Lwah inalih haken is a sentence contained in the Ciwagreha inscription, which means the river is moved. The transfer of the river flow is carried out because the place through which the river will pass will be built a sacred building complex (temple). The sacred building referred to in the Ciwagreha inscription is associated with the Rara Jonggrang temple complex in Prambanan. Indeed, the one that best fits the cluster of temples as described in the inscription is Candi Rara Jonggrang. If this is true, it means that the river that has been displaced is the Opak River which is located west of the temple. The problem is whether in reality the Opak River. Have you experienced a river flow change? The title above appears due to the fact that the third page of the Rara Jonggrang Temple complex is not as concentric as the other two pages, but is slightly inclined as if to. avoid streams. So that the question arises whether the river was moved or the third page?

Abstract

In the course of ancient Balinese history which lasted for nearly seven centuries, there have been twenty-one changes of leadership in government. All of these kings, not all of them can be known about the place of residence. Several inscriptions indicate that after the death of a king a temple was built as his place of residence called bedharman. For example, the king of Ugrasena after his death was dharma in Air Madatu; King Gunapriyadharmapatni was dharma in Burwan, king Udayana was dharma in Banuwka, Marakata in Camara Anakwungsu in Jalu, and Jayapangus was dharma in Dharmahanyar.

Abstract

For Javanese people, the empirical realm is considered closely related to the metemperis realm (the supernatural). It is their view that reality is not divided into separate and unrelated fields, but that reality is seen as a whole. Even clearly, Franz Magnis Suseno said that in essence the Javanese do not differentiate between religious attitudes, and social interactions are at the same time an attitude towards nature, as well as attitudes towards nature at the same time have social relevance.

Abstract

Literature (philology) is one of the important textual data. Apart from containing historical information, it also contains information about the king, the government, life in the palace, and the life of the people. It also contains the information about iconography of both gods and goddesses in Hinduism. This means with certain treatment of literary works, the life aspects of Old Javanese people can be understood. In this regard, this short article is intended to describe the figure of Dewa Indra, based on a study of several Old Javanese literary works. Dewa Indra known as one of the Loka Pala gods as inscribed on the Civa Temple, Prambanan. It is hoped that a picture from the other side of Dewa Indra can be revealed, which in turn can also reveal the tendency of the poets to present the figure of Dewa Indra.

Abstract

The study of inscriptions related to the rights and obligations in Old Javanese society is only a small part of sociological aspects. There are still many other aspects of sociology still untouched, both from the ancient society of Javanese, Balinese, Sundanese, and another part of Archipelago. The right of sima landlord is stated in the inscription, while the obligations sima landlord is not always stated in the description of the inscription. This makes the study of sima quite difficult because the elements associated with this kind of obligation are often disguised.
