Abstract

The role of the population in driving economic growth and development is fundamental, functioning as an active consumer and contributor. An important foundation for informed policymaking and fostering smart citizens lies in the quality of human resources and the availability of accurate population data. The study addresses specific challenges within Jakarta's densely populated Buffer Area, particularly the urgent need for an updated population database. To address this problem, we propose a comprehensive Population Information System that integrates data from three provinces and nine districts/cities in the Greater Jakarta area, which includes geographic and demographic information. This integrated approach ensures the availability of real-time data for quick responses to population-related matters. The significance of our study is rooted in the constitutional mandate to regulate matters concerning Citizens and Residents, emphasizing the state's role in protecting human rights and providing legal certainty in Population Administration. We also emphasize important laws, including Law Number 24 of 2013 concerning Population Administration, protecting personal and legal status while facilitating data collection and utilization. Examining the various challenges facing population services in Jakarta's buffer city districts, focusing on local government initiatives and the Population and Civil Registration Office, is essential. Understanding these challenges and proposed solutions is critical to improving population services and promoting informed policymaking in this critical region. In addition, our findings underscore the urgent need for comprehensive reforms in Disdukcapil services, including addressing issues such as bribery and using the services of brokers who persist in administrative practices.

Abstract

This research delves into the complex issues surrounding the implementation of public policy aimed at organizing street vendors in Bandung City. The presence of street vendors has become intertwined with concerns related to public order and security, frequently culminating in conflicts between these vendors and government authorities seeking to regulate their presence in prohibited public areas. Motivated to resolve disputes without violence, the Bandung City Government has called for immediate measures to manage street vendors effectively. This study seeks to understand the factors hindering the effective implementation of the policy on street vendor arrangement, exploring whether the policy execution aligns with the planned actions and its subsequent impact on both individuals and groups within society. Utilizing qualitative research methods, including observation, in-depth interviews, and document studies, this research engages key informants such as executing officials, beneficiaries, affected groups, and relevant stakeholders involved in the Local Regulation on Structuring of Street Vendors in Bandung City. Employing the implementation theory and model from Grindle (2017), examining policy implementation considers the nuances contributing to its ineffectiveness. The findings reveal many challenges, including conflicting interests, ongoing debate on policy benefits, overlapping goals, limited decision-making authority, inadequate resources, and contextual conflicts between governmental and non-governmental entities. The study concludes that a comprehensive strategy is required to address these challenges and foster stakeholder collaboration to enhance the policy's effectiveness.

Abstract

Indonesia plays an important role in global maritime dynamics. The maritime sector is critical to international trade and regional security. The concept of the World Maritime Axis has been introduced as the basis for Indonesia's maritime development. The Golden Indonesia Vision 2045 is Indonesia's long-term roadmap to become a major economic power. It focuses on the optimal use of the maritime sector, with maritime diplomacy playing an important role in achieving this vision. This article examines the research objectives to answer the main question: "How do the projections and strategies of maritime diplomacy contribute to the achievement of Indonesia's Golden Vision 2045 through the World Maritime Axis Concept?". This study uses a qualitative approach to examine the projected achievement of the Golden Indonesia Vision 2045 through the concept of the World Maritime Axis. The data collection technique is a comprehensive literature review, including government policy documents, international reports, and relevant academic publications. Data analysis was conducted using content analysis techniques to identify, analyze and report patterns (themes) in the data. The research findings show that Indonesia must navigate shifts in global power competition. Indonesia's maritime diplomacy will play an important role in optimizing maritime resources for national and international interests. To strengthen these efforts, a strong defense and security posture is needed amidst regional dynamics.

Abstract

Stunting prevalence in Indonesia has exhibited a relatively consistent trend, with rates of 36.8% in 2007, 35.6% in 2010, and a slight increase to 37.2% in 2013, though showing a decline to 30.8% in 2018. Despite this decrease, Indonesia's stunting rates remain higher than the global prevalence of 22.2%, indicating a significant public health concern. Stunting poses long-term health risks, and early prevention is crucial. This article review aims to identify factors contributing to child stunting in Indonesia, utilizing the WHO's conceptual framework. Employing various study designs and extensive literature search, the review identified 15 relevant articles, highlighting factors like exclusive breastfeeding, household economic status, maternal education, and environmental conditions as key determinants of child stunting.
