ENDLESS : International Journal of Future Studies
Focus & Scope ENDLESS: International Journal of Futures Studies is a globally-oriented, trans-disciplinary refereed journal. Its mission is to develop high-quality, future-oriented research and thinking, based on the evolving knowledge base of Futures Studies / Foresight. The Journal’s approach is: - Trans-disciplinary; - Epistemologically diverse, seeking articles from empirical, interpretative, critical and action learning research traditions, and; - Multi-methods based, including, for example, methods such as emerging issues analysis, scenario and alternative futures development and analysis, age-cohort analysis, causal layered analysis, visioning and backcasting. As well as refereed articles, the Journal publishes essays, book reviews, symposia, and art on the following topics: - Epistemologically focused futures studies on the construction of possible, probable and preferable futures; - Methodological innovation in futures studies, including not only integrated, layered, and critical approaches, but also empirical, interpretive, or action-learning based approaches; - Applied Futures (for example, case studies in using and practicing futures thinking for organizational change, development, and transformation); - Alternative futures on a variety of subjects (see topic categories below). ENDLESS: International Journal of Futures Studies, Futures, Foresight, Technological Forecasting, and Social Change, The European Journal of Futures Research, World Future Review, On the Horizon) as well as futures material contained in books, monographs, other field related journals, including visual resources and web resources. <![CDATA[The indigenous population of Papua consists of various tribes, cultures, and languages, and they inhabit the coast, riverbanks, valleys and mountains, with the majority adhering to Christianity. As Christians, most Papuans believe in the Bible as their source of teaching and guidance. Unfortunately, until now, the Papuan people have experienced various limitations in teaching the Holy Bible. Tribal languages are one of the causes of the obstacles in question, so it is related to teaching and faith formation in several places that use local languages. This encourages local people called to the ministry to equip themselves with Bible knowledge and skills that will hopefully enable them to develop themselves to serve the people in the area in question. Researchers conducted a study of students at the Indonesia Cross-Cultural Institute. They found that literacy became the main obstacle for local missionaries in the interior of Papua in interpreting the contents of the Bible. The process of fostering students at Indonesia Cross-Cultural Institute includes three essential things: the Stage of Knowledge of God, the Stage of Character Building, and the Stage of Knowledge and Skills. The method used in writing this article is qualitative research conducted through interviews and literature studies. Finally, this article proposes steps churches and education providers can take for prospective church service workers in Papua.]]>

<![CDATA[The Covid-19 pandemic has changed the process of teaching and learning activities that are carried out offline (offline) to online (online), students must adapt and transform to new habits with online learning methods which are closely related to the existence of an internet network. This study aims to determine and analyze the effect of online learning and learning motivation during the Covid-19 pandemic on the academic achievement of students of the Management Study Program, Faculty of Economics and Business, University of Muhammadiyah Jakarta. The research method used is descriptive method with a survey method with a quantitative approach. Data collection used primary data and secondary data. Population of 1546 active students according to LLDikti data, while samples were taken using the Slovin formula calculation of 341 respondents. The results of this study are that online learning and learning motivation together (simultaneously) have a positive effect on student achievement variables. That is, the better the value of online learning and learning motivation, the greater the achievement of students at the Faculty of Economics and Business at Muhammadiyah University Jakarta]]>

<![CDATA[This research began with an interest in leadership studies in the implementation of public administration that occurred during the era of Sultan Mahmud Badaruddin II. The aim is to comprehensively explain religious charismatic leadership in the implementation of the power system of the Palembang Darussalam kingdom during the era of Sultan Mahmud Badaruddin II (1803 – 1821) through a study of the Menteng War manuscript, its transliteration along with analysis. The theories used are Leadership, Legitimacy, Bureaucracy, Public Administration, Public Policy, and Public Management. This research, which is located in the city of Palembang, is library research with a qualitative historical method approach. The primary data in this research is the Menteng War Poetry manuscript and several books published during the reign of Sultan Mahmud Badaruddin II. There is also secondary data in the form of journals, articles, and data from interviews using purposive snowball techniques as support for this research. The analysis techniques used by historical methods are Heuristics (source search process), Verification (source criticism), and Interpretation (analysis in data systems). The results of the research obtained are that in the poetry the use of sentences or words that are shouted during the war such as the Gift of Allah Subhani, the Gift of God the Almighty, La illahailla'llah, Allahu Akbar the help of Maliku'l Jabbar, the use of the words martyrdom, heaven, angel, castor oil, hell, devil, charm, Sultan is like a warrior, Palembang people are like eagles, words that show that the Sultan is intelligent, a war strategist, motivating transmits positive energy, very wise, has compassion and forgives (forgives), which is very strong as a value in religious charismatic leadership. Also, various decrees of the Sultan show the existence of public policy, legitimacy, and bureaucracy that had occurred at that time.]]>

<![CDATA[The non-class service implemented in the inpatient installation of Tangerang General Hospital causes all BPJS insurance participants to receive class 3 services and facilities. This raises the question of whether BPJS class 1 participants are satisfied with the services they receive and what innovations need to be implemented by Tangerang General Hospital. This study uses a quantitative method that aims to determine the effect of service quality and facilities on hospital image so that it affects the satisfaction of class 1 patients in the non-class inpatient installation of Tangerang General Hospital. The research sample taken was class 1 BPJS patients who were admitted to the inpatient installation of Tangerang General Hospital in August - September 2023, with a total sample of 85 respondents. Data were obtained through questionnaires distributed according to the inclusion and exclusion criteria. The analysis technique used was SEM-PLS (Structural Equation Model-Partial Least Square). The results show that all hypotheses are supported by existing data, where it is proven that the quality of service and facilities each has a significant positive effect on patient satisfaction. The results also show that hospital image mediates the positive effect of service quality on patient satisfaction and mediates the positive effect of facilities on patient satisfaction]]>

<![CDATA[This study aims to (1) identify internal factors, which include strengths and weaknesses in the marketing aspects run by CV Berkah Bersama Sejahtera company; (2) Identify external factors, which include threats and opportunities in the marketing aspect carried out by the CV Berkah Bersama Sejahtera company; and (3) Formulating a relevant and effective marketing strategy for CV Berkah Bersama Sejahtera. The method used in this research is a case or field research method. Information and data related to the internal and external environment evaluation are processed using SWOT analysis to determine which strategy is chosen, and then QSPM analysis is used. The results show the mapping of IFE and EFE matrices: directing alternative strategies in the growth and development section. Alternative strategies in the growing section include integration strategies (backwards, forward, and horizontal), and alternative strategies in the building section are intensive strategies are (a) conducting managerial development and independent business development planning efforts to develop feeder cattle cultivation and approaches to local communities in supporting business sustainability and development; (b) utilising the facilitation of government and local government policies, to develop good farming practices (GFP) and capital for business development. The other three strategies based on STAS in QSPM are part of the proposed marketing mix strategy.]]>

<![CDATA[The East Timor region, encompassing Timor-Leste and adjacent territories, has been marked by the presence of significant oil resources, exerting profound influences on regional politics, economics, and societal dynamics. This paper delves into the historical backdrop, contemporary status, and prospective trajectories of oil within the East Timor region. Through an intricate analysis, it scrutinizes the multifaceted challenges and opportunities intertwined with oil extraction, production, and distribution, illuminating the socio-economic ramifications for local communities and the broader geopolitical framework. The historical narrative of oil exploration and exploitation in the East Timor region traces back to the colonial era, characterized by limited endeavors during Portuguese rule. However, the Indonesian annexation of East Timor in 1975 marked a pivotal juncture, igniting disputes over oil rights amidst resistance movements. Subsequent to the independence referendum in 1999, the issue of oil resources gained international prominence, culminating in Timor-Leste's independence in 2002 and subsequent negotiations with Australia over maritime boundaries and resource allocations in the Timor Sea. Oil production stands as a cornerstone of Timor-Leste's economy, furnishing the lion's share of government revenue. Key oil fields such as Bayu-Undan and Greater Sunrise serve as primary sources, yet the equitable distribution of oil revenue remains contentious, fueling protracted negotiations and legal battles between Timor-Leste and Australia. Despite its oil wealth, Timor-Leste confronts challenges in fostering economic diversification, grappling with overreliance on oil revenues and susceptibility to global market fluctuations. Endeavors to establish a sovereign wealth fund and bolster investments in infrastructure and human capital are underway to mitigate risks and foster long-term economic resilience.]]>

<![CDATA[In the digital era, the influence of technology is increasingly pervasive in family life, posing new challenges for Christian religious education. This article examines the dynamics of integrating technology into the model of family Christian religious education as a response to the changing times. Families, as the center of shaping Christian values and faith, face significant challenges and disruptions due to technological advancements. The problem-solving approach advocated in this article promotes the integration of technology as a means to deepen understanding and experience of Christian faith within the family environment. Focusing on relevant learning models in the digital age, this research explores how technology can be utilized to uphold Christian religious values and enhance family participation in the religious education process. Previous studies have highlighted the benefits of technology in education, but this research specifically emphasizes the potential integration of technology in family Christian religious education. Literature analysis supports the idea that technology can offer solutions to overcome challenges in delivering Christian religious teachings amidst rapid technological advancements. By addressing literature gaps, this research offers concrete solutions to reconcile the dilemma between religious tradition and digital trends. Additionally, it provides practical guidance for parents, educators, and policymakers to wisely utilize technology in supporting family Christian religious education in the digital age. The value of the information referring to quotidian life in this village is extraordinary and among the multiple practices described as crime we have selected the card games for the interest of the interrelation norm-practice-representations, the participation of all social groups, the exhibition in public and private spaces, etc. The result is a polyhedral mosaic in which fun, transgressions and quotidian resistances are intertwined in a town in movement, and in which the illustrated reformist dispositions become blurred by the pulse between leisure and legislation.]]>
