Journal of Nusantara Oral Tradition aims to publish high-quality researches and outstanding creative works combining the broad fields of literature and linguistics on the same intellectual platform. Article contains field study, case study, library research, and others. The article must be relevant with current issues in the scope of oral tradition. Those different segments that will be featured in each issue of Journal of Nusantara Oral Tradition are: (i) critical writings on literary, (ii) cultural and linguistics studies, and (iii) creative writings that include works of prose fiction and selections of poetry related to the oral tradition. Journal of Nusantara Oral Tradition invites scholars and writers to submit high-quality written works presenting original researches with profound ideas and insightful thoughts that could potentially inaugurate avenues to new perspectives in the fields of language, literature and culture.

Abstract

Abstract: Dayak Ma'anyan culture (mindset, behavior patterns, and lifestyle) is reflected in the language used and the proverbs that appear in acts of communication. Proverbs have the power/power to educate, move the soul, shape attitudes, character and human character, to obtain what is revealed and radiated within oneself, and have the power as social control. The data for this study are utterances in Dayak contained in the texts of the Ma'anyan Dayak proverbs. The next analysis is the classification of data based on the form of structural aspects based on its constituent elements, the functional relationships between its constituent elements. Analysis of the proverbs in the Maanyan Dayak language contains advice, satire, praise, and diplomatic language which is often used in traditional ceremonies. The proverbs of the Dayak Ma'anyan in this study reveal many things about the behavior of the people. Among these are the behavior of the Dayak people towards the universe, towards their fellow human beings, and the attitudes and personalities of the people.

Abstract

This study aims to find out how the process of carrying out Tiba Pinah, which is a ritual of rejecting reinforcements for the Bajau people in Tojo Una-Una Regency, Central Sulawesi. The research was conducted in two villages, namely Labuan Village, Ratolindo District and Kabalutan Village, Talatako District. This research uses qualitative methods by conducting interviews, observations and documentation. The results of the study show that the ritual performance of the Bajau people is an integral part of their belief in the ruler of the sea. The Tiba Pinah ritual that is still maintained and carried out by the Bajau people in Tojo Una-Una aims for treatment, search for missing persons, and ease of sustenance. Arriving Pinah is not only carried out at sea, but also on land. Sandro (shaman) is the person who leads the ritual by preparing ingredients such as areca nut, betel leaf, betel nut, gambir, tobacco, cigarettes and rice as offerings to be anchored (sea) or placed on the ground (land) in the morning while recite prayers, incantations.

Abstract

AbstrakLamut adalah seni tradisi tutur tunggal masyarakat Banjar di Kalimantan Selatan yang menjadikan tokoh lamut sebagai sentral ceritanya. Lamut telah tumbuh dan berkembang bersama masyarakat pendukungnya. Akan tetapi, seni tradisi tutur ini mulai mengalami ancaman kepunahan. Oleh sebab itu, tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui tentang kesenian lamut dan faktor-faktor yang menjadikan ancaman kepunahannya serta untuk menjabarkan pelestarian kesenian ini.  Adapun masalah dalam penelitian ini adalah apakah yang dimaksud dengan kesenian lamut, faktor-faktor yang menjadi ancaman bagi kepunahannya serta bagaimanakah cara pelestariannya. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian deskriptif kualitatif dengan teknik studi pustaka. Berdasarkan hasil analisis dapat diketahui bahwa kesenian ini awalnya berasal dari Cina dan telah terintergrasi kedalam kesenian masyarakat Banjar. Faktor-faktor yang menjadi penyebab ancaman bagi kepunahan kesenian ini terdiri atas faktor internal dan faktor eksternal dan cara melestarikannya adalah dengan mengadakan pelatihan kesenian ini kepada generasi muda masyarakat Banjar. Kata kunci: Lamut, Banjar, pelestarian

Abstract

Abstrak: Dalam penelitian ini memiliki tujuan untuk mendiskripsikan struktur dalam cerita rakyat Dukuh Tuksongo di Desa Geneng Kecamatan Batealit Kabupaten Jepara. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu metode penelitian terstruktur dalam cerita rakyat dengan pendekatan metode etnografi. Data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini, didapatkan dengan menggunakan teknik observasi, perekaman, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Nilai-nilai yang terkandung dalam cerita rakyat Dukuh Tuksongo di Desa Geneng Kecamatan Batealit Kabupaten jepara terdiri dari nilai sosial atau kemasyarakatan, nilai kesusilaan dan budi pekerti serta nilai moral. Selain itu, perlu adanya kesesuaian memilih cerita rakyat kepada anak yang harus diperhatikan dan disesuaikan dengan kondisi anak. Kesesuaian tersebut meliputi kesesuaian literal dan moral anak. Kata kunci: Struktur, dan Cerita Rakyat

Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to: (1) describe the physical structure of the mantra poem "Jampe Nyeuri Beuteung" in Sundanese culture, (2) describe the inner structure of the mantra poem "Jampe Nyeuri Beuteung" in Sundanese culture. The method of analyzing the research data is descriptive qualitative. The results show that in the Jampe Nyeuri Beuteung mantra poetry there is a physical and mental structure. The physical structure of the mantra includes word choice (diction), figurative language, imagery, rhyme, rhythm, typography. The inner structure of the mantra is the theme of healing, having a weak feeling due to pain, spoken in a tense tone, aiming to treat stomachaches, and the message contains that the person who casts the mantra hopes that he will be given a cure for illness. Poetry as learning material in Indonesian subjects can provide added value in the student learning process.
