Abstract

Ashabiyah is the most crucial thing in building integrity in the community's social life, especially in religious life. In Indonesia, various kinds of religions have developed, and differences in ethnicity, race, and language are unique features and challenges for the people of Indonesia. What's more, when talking about religion which is very risky in the history of the world and even in Indonesia, discrimination, violence, intolerance, and violence in the name of religion often become prolonged conflicts. Therefore, this research is presented as a sample form of the polarization of ashabiah from the Tanon community, which has differences in one social unit, even at a more micro level, that's the family. This research is qualitative research with a phenomenological approach as the chosen approach. The design strategy that the researcher uses is to identify the nature of a community phenomenon based on the experiences of individuals who are members of the Tanon Village community, Papar District, Kediri Regency. The theory used is Talcott parson's theory of structural functionalism. The results of this study indicate that the function of the religious elite, abangan, and the Tanon community in the salvation system is one of the forums for building religious harmonization. In addition, the religious elite, in conveying their spiritual teachings from each religion, recognizes religion as a universal truth in Tanon society. The last is a customary ritual, and cultural traditions are a means of latency for the people of Tanon Village in forming a harmonious social life.

Abstract

The rise of theft, robbery, gambling and drug users by the youth of Negorejo Village, Lumbang District, Probolinggo Regency causes mental loss, addiction, and prolonged depression that can affect their peers and minors. The presence of Hadratus Shaykh Habib Ali Bin Muhammad al-Habsyi in 2017 brought solutions and significant changes in overcoming one of these problems by establishing the Pettengan Shalawat Council. The Pettengan Shalawat Assembly is a prayer assembly held at night to instill character values. Since the implementation of Shalawat Pettengan, youths are more civilized and have character; this is evidenced by the low level of drug users by young people, who are starting to realize the true meaning of life and the purpose of life. The implementation of the Pettengan Shalawat aims to grow awareness in shaping the character of youth and society so that they can communicate and establish good relationships with God (hablun min Allah) and others (hablun minannas). In this case, the existence of the Pettengan prayer meeting can direct, guide, and make people moral, dignified, and have a character so that they are helpful to the nation and religion.

Abstract

Bank Indonesia Regulation (22/9/PBI/2020) administers that Sharia Interbank Money Market (PUAS) is based on particular instruments which are SIMA (Mudarabah Interbank Investment Certificate), SiKA (Commodity Murabahah Investment Certificate) and SiPA (Wakalah bil-Istismar or Investment Agency Certificate). Despite the existing fatwas (DSN-MUI 37/X/2002, 38/X/2002, and 78/IX/2010) rule the principles within PUAS in Indonesia, are straightforward and concise. Hence, it is crucial to develop extended fiqh deliberation on the regulation as it can further develop and evaluate the current practice. The research aims mainly at achieving clarity from comparative fiqh views on the practice of conventional and Islamic banks mixed funds within the PUAS. Particularly, it will examine whether the existing Islamic contracts offered within PUAS encounter potential fiqh issues. This study applies a qualitative approach using the content analysis method namely a comparison of jurist views and legal maxims. It summarised: (i) there is no fiqh issue in the use of excess liquidity from conventional banks to be invested in sharia banks with the rationale of Quran (2:274) and Legal Maxim of “it is absolved in dependent events and not so for independent ones”, (ii) the subject-matter of each contract within PUAS, capital and work in Mudharabah, price and goods in commodity Murabaha, and trusted funds in wakalah bil-istismar, has no potential fiqh issue with regarding the mandatory condition of subject-matter that should be sharia-compliant. (iii) However, although utilizing comingled wealth is permissible, nonetheless it stands under detestation. As such, the commodity murabahah contract (SiKA) has fewer fiqh issues because it dissociates sharia banks in PUAS to expose directly to excess liquidity from conventional banks

Abstract

The diffusion of innovation in the context of developing traditional societies has its challenges with the many obstacles in the social system. Previous studies have proven that each social component has a significant role in facilitating the process of innovation diffusion to underprivileged societies. However, they need to discuss how to optimize these components to overcome the barriers of social systems in traditional societies. Meanwhile, M. Yunus created an innovation in the form of microcredit and successfully diffused it to Muslim women who live in poverty in Bangladesh. This study investigates how Yunus optimizes the social system's components to successfully diffuse the program's innovation in the high traditional challenges. The method used in this study is a qualitative approach with a type of case study and analysis based on Rogers' theory of social system components. This study finds that social system barriers can be overcome by 1) optimizing the role of reforming agents in optional decisions through interpersonal relationships; 2) optimizing local communication channels that are homophilous with friendship networks among lower-class Muslim women.

Abstract

This study aims to look again at the existence of cooperation in the digital era in an Islamic economic review. Because in the current contemporary era, cooperation activities have experienced a decline caused by the onslaught of new competitors who utilize digital technology. This condition is, of course, a concern in itself because cooperation is an economic institution initiated by the nation's founding fathers and stipulated in the 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia (UUD 1945) which is in principle in line with Islamic economic values. Therefore, in the current contemporary era, cooperation is expected to be able to adapt in the digital context and the industrial revolution 4.0. Qualitative research with this type of case study reveals the implementation of cooperation systems in the digital era in three different cooperation, both in terms of operating principles and their basis. The findings in this study indicate that the implementation of cooperation in the three objects still needs to be optimally able to adapt to digital technology. The Islamic economic value has been carried out for cooperation that runs it while for others using state rules and regulations.

Abstract

This article examines the arguments for accepting democracy from an Islamic perspective after the conservative turn in Indonesia. The idea of democracy in the Islamic context revolves around several mainstream arguments as theological and sociological justifications. On the other hand, the Muslim community tends to be opposed and allergic to the concept of secularization, which in some ways, is a mandatory requirement for the establishment of a strong democracy. Though some Islamic scholars argue that Islam and democracy are compatible, the role of secularism is important to be emphasized. This research is a descriptive qualitative method included in the library research category. The qualitative description method is used because of its suitability to the topic and focus of the study. This research shows that recent developments in Muslim acceptance of democracy that does not require secularism in Indonesia after the conservative turn provide proof that the tracheotomy can be united. Furthermore, several political events in Indonesia have revealed how both Islamic political parties and Islamic intellectuals have contributed to the development of liberal democracy. So this study implies that whereas Islam, democracy and secularism were originally considered a trichotomy that cannot be harmonized, the political results in Indonesia have disproved it. In particular, the dynamics of Islamic political development in Indonesia decades after the conservative turn shows that liberal democracy will reach peak development in the coming years.

Abstract

The practice of female circumcision or FGM/C (Female Genitalia Mutilation/Cutting) in Indonesia is stated as a purification process by removing najis or dirt in female genital area and it is useful for controlling women's sexual desires so that they are far from evil. Based on this motivation, FGM/C makes women increasingly subordinated by placing the assumption of infertility and being responsible for the satisfaction of sexual relations with their partners. Apart from tradition, this phenomenon is also based on the strong influence of Islamic religious doctrine which generally makes parents feel compelled to fulfill it. Through a qualitative approach with descriptive-analytical methods, this research will compile and explain the data that has been obtained to be analyzed and drawn conclusions. The results of this study indicate that there is no concrete evidence that correlates female circumcision with sexual harmony, female circumcision is purely a tradition and not an Islamic teaching.
