Abstract

Spiritual tourism has been recognized as an integral part of the global tourism industry because it offers profound spiritual experiences and meanings for tourists. This research aims to analyze the response of the local community, supporting and inhibiting factors to formulate a model for the development of storynomics based spiritual tourism. This study employs a qualitative method with a phenomenological approach. The results show that there is a positive response from the local community towards the development of storynomics based spiritual tourism. However, there are obstacles such as limited local human resources, lack of policies for development, funding for attraction development, and minimal partnerships with external parties. Therefore, modeling is needed to emphasize the importance of building a strong and authentic narrative that involves and motivates stakeholders to actively participate in the development of spiritual tourism. The implications of this research provide valuable insights for tourism practitioners, researchers, and policymakers to enhance the management of storynomics based spiritual tourism by strengthening stakeholder engagement in the development agenda. This model can serve as a foundation for developing sustainable policies and implementation strategies in an effort to achieve holistic and competitive spiritual tourism development.

Abstract

This study aims to investigate the effect of individual factors, mood, and promotion on e-impulse buying behavior; or simply spontaneous and unreflective online purchases. Quantitative - A survey of 196 online consumers was deployed. Smart PLS software will be used to analyze the obtained data of partial least squares (PLS) based Structural Equation Model (SEM). The emotion factor also has a significant impact on individual factors, and promotion realized e-impulsive buying. Positive moods are inclined to proactivity and optimism - also in shopping, whereby attractive, appropriate promotions could even be responsible of a spurious purchase. The remaining four hypotheses did not demonstrate any relationship significantly. The personal factors of an individual have no direct effect on decisions to engage in online impulse purchasing and mood while affecting the personal factors, does not significantly affect e-impulsive buying. Also, the individual aspects do not reveal a clear signal as to whether marketing promotions have enough muscle on their own in changing consumer characteristics. Besides, the five indirect relationship hypotheses were not well supported so that each mediating variable had no significant influence on impulse shopping behavior online. In other words, because most online shoppers think before they buy and will need a clear reason to act in the moment. More investigation should be done, looking at other variables that in conjunction with the predictors of this research can improve our understanding about what influences click bait behavior so as to create more effective marketing strategies when it comes sharing content on e-commerce platforms.

Abstract

Poverty is a human condition that has difficulty meeting the needs of life and is an unsolved problem in Indonesia. East Java Province has the highest poverty compared to other provinces and has a moderate to high risk of natural disasters. The purpose of this study is to determine the influence of natural disaster risk factors on poverty in addition to socio-demographic factors of districts and cities in East Java Province in 2015-2022. This research method uses panel data regression analysis with data sources from the Central Statistics Agency and the National Disaster Management Agency. The results of the analysis with the Random Effect Model show that the risk of natural disasters is positively significant to poverty. Meanwhile, socio-demographic factors consisting of open unemployment rate and population number have a significant positive effect on poverty. However, the human development index and gross regional domestic product have a significant negative effect on poverty.
