Abstract

To advance China's language and culture and improve China's foreign image, since 2004, China has constructed over 700 Confucius Classrooms and Institutes. Despite the vast number of Confucius Institutes, very little has been known about operating or what they accomplish inside institutions. Using a variety of media sources, including the government policy, newspaper reports from the internet, Confucius institutes themselves, individual blogs are written by Chinese language teachers, and the observations of university academics, it begins by discussing the concepts of cultural and public diplomacy, cultural associations as a conceptual framework for assessing Confucius Institutes. One of the most effective ways to change people's views of other countries and cultures is direct public diplomacy. In the community of national cultural institutions, the Confucius Institutes are a standout member because of their connection to China's development. China's foreign policy goals are now boosting the availability of Chinese language training across the world. Since 2013, the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) has opened up a new avenue for Chinese language instruction abroad. They recognize that showing their cultural background is a way to illustrate who they are while also portraying a positive image, which enables them to accomplish their political aims. This article examines the relevance of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and its influence on Pakistani culture and language using the Pakistan Confucius Institutes as a case study. The study emphasizes the need for more vital bilateral collaboration between two nations to construct a community of cultural enterprises and linguistic centers that both countries can share. In Pakistan, the CPEC is causing a linguistic shift. Both nations' cultures may be openly shared. As a result, CPEC's efficacy as a language changer cannot be denied.

Abstract

Human resources become an important "support" in the survival of the company's "life". The company is able to move due to the existence of a workforce that is "owned" by the company. This study describes the important role of employees as one of the "capital" of the company. Postmodernists are used to see the social reality of employees. This research is a qualitative research with the interview method as the main data collection. The informant selected was the head of the company's Human Resources Development (HRD). The location of the research was a sugar company in Makassar City, Indonesia. The epistemological approach chosen is the knowledge-power of Michel Foucault with his three “surgical” tools, namely sharing, generating, and using knowledge, unlimited interpretation is used to parse the research results. The results show that employee capital is a cycle of human capital. This capital has two important things attached to it, namely producing and generating value. Then these two things make it the company's highest asset. Employees and their knowledge as inherent so that when employees "go" leave the company, the knowledge goes with it. Companies must be able to transfer knowledge between employees and the company, although there are certain skills that may be "difficult" to "transfer".

Abstract

Export activities carried out by small and medium-sized businesses have the potential to become a foreign exchange earner for the country as proclaimed. Often there are obstacles experienced by small and medium-sized businesses in carrying out these international trade activities. Extracted from several interviews with small and medium business owners, it was revealed that the obstacles faced were from the product itself, regarding quality and quantity. Both of these things often did not meet the mutually agreed standards. Another thing that becomes an obstacle is the difficulty of providing a container which is a vital aspect of the process of sending goods that are ready. Judging from the aspect of the theory of comparative advantage, the international trade activity should have a very bright potential to be developed so that it becomes a foreign exchange earner to be recommended with.

Abstract

In the digital age, freelancing has had a huge impact and as an alternate job option, has grown more popular. In this field, studies have been scarce. The link between freelancing and economic growth is investigated in this study. A total of 100 freelancers were interviewed using a Google form. The current administration has set aside and given special attention to assisting freelancers, with the goal of allowing them to play an important role in their families as a whole. Anyone with particular skills can work as a freelancer without getting a graduate degree. However, in Pakistan, a freelancer's life is already difficult due to poor working conditions, a lack of affordable internet, and the exorbitant cost of technical peripherals. Furthermore, the social components are more difficult because many people here are discouraged from seeking demanding work rather than a government job. Hence, because of developing countries, online freelancing can create employment.

Abstract

Between 2020 to mid-2022,the world economy was severely affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. Maintaining operations during a global crisis was extremely difficult for small and medium enterprises, especially in handicraft sectors. Entrepreneurs who do not have crisis management strategies in place, risk having their businesses shut down unexpectedly. Hence, the researchers aimed to understand and analyze the determinants of microenterprises (Handicraft sector) shutdown and exit strategies during the pandemic. This study utilized a descriptive research design, and registered microenterprises in India were purposively selected in the areas of Cavite. The findings of the study revealed that the majority of the microenterprises were sole proprietors that had been in operation for 2 to 5 years and had a capitalization of less than INR 500,000.00. Consequently, the respondents' most common problems in managing the enterprise were limitations on direct marketing which also involved bill payments, adoption of the online platform, and work-from-home setup. Most of the determinants of problems that led to business failure during the pandemic were obstacles in the realignment of their respective goals owing to the pandemic, their ability to pay operational expenses, difficulties in product innovation, and their failure to react to the changes in the business environment. Exit strategies used by microenterprises included declaring bankruptcy, refinancing, and selling the business to family or friends. Finally, the researchers recommended crisis-sensitive interventions among the small industries (Handicraft sector) entrepreneurs which involve national government provisions of financial safety nets, retooling, and training of pandemic-sensitive enterprise strategies for micro-entrepreneurs, especially in the handicraft sector and also study the impact of lockdown on MSME.
