Maternal Mortality Rate (MMR) is one indicator in describing the welfare of society in a country. MMR in Indonesia in 2020 has increased compared to 2019. In 2019, MMR in East Java Province reached 89.81 per 100,000 live births. This figure will increase in 2020 to 98.39 per 100,000 live births. An important issue in Malang Regency related to maternal and child health is the high MMR. Preeclampsia is the 3rd largest case along with cases of infection and postpartum bleeding. The purpose of this research was to see a description of the determinants associated with the incidence of preeclampsia and to find the most dominant determinants causing preeclampsia in Kanjuruhan Hospital, Malang Regency. The type of the research was descriptive with a documentation study approach from the medical records of RSUD Kanjuruhan Malang. The analysis technique used descriptive analysis. The results of the research showed that the age data of most of the pregnant women were in high risk age (more than 35 years) as many as 28 mothers (56%), the distance between pregnancies in pregnant women with preeclampsia was mostly more than 2 years (64%), the highest parity of women with preeclampsia was multipara (68%), most of the women had never had an abortion (72%) and the gestational age of most women with preeclampsia was term (76%). Factors that determine the incidence of preeclampsia are age, gestation interval, parity and gestational age. Further research is needed to determine other factors that cause preeclampsia.

Abstract

Biological changes in the elderly are one of the triggers for the emergence of hypertension which can cause changes in cognitive function. The purpose was to analyze the correlation between hypertension and cognitive function in the elderly. The design was correlation descriptive research design with the cross-sectional approach. The sampling technique was purposive sampling, the number of samples of respondents was 56 people. The research was conducted at Integrated Healthcare Center Elderly, Malang City. The instrument used to while the cognitive function in the elderly uses the MMSE. Analysis used the Spearman rank test with an alpha value of 0.05 (95% CI). The results showed that there was a significant correlation between hypertension and cognitive function in the elderly (r=0.532 and p=0.000). The direction of the correlation is positive, meaning that the more severe hypertension suffered by the elderly, the more severe they will tend to experience more severe cognitive function impairments. Based on the results of this study, it is recommended for people with hypertension do blood pressure screening and undergo hypertension treatment regularly. This is very important so that prevention and treatment can be carried out earlier to prevent more severe cognitive impairment.

Abstract

Stroke is a medical emergency. Post-stroke patients generally experience muscle weakness in the limbs, postural disturbances and muscle atrophy. The purpose of this study was to prove the effect of ROM Spherical Grip exercise on post-stroke patients. The type of the study was pre-experimental with one group pre-test-post-test design. The independent variable was Range Of Motion (ROM) Spherical Grip. The dependent variable was the degree of upper extremity muscle strength in post-stroke infarct patients who had hemiparesi. The sampling technique used a consecutive sampling technique. The sample was 33 respondents. The data were taken by measuring the muscle strength before and after being given the intervention. The instrument used an observation sheet for assessing muscle strength and manual muscle testing (MMT) physical examinations in post-stroke patients. The results of this study showed that most of the muscle strength before giving the Spherical Grip ROM exercise was Poor (there was movement but could not fight gravity) as many as 14 respondents (42.4%). After the intervention of the Spherical Grip ROM exercise, the muscle strength was mostly Fair (can move against gravity) as many as 19 respondents (57.6%). There is an increase in upper extremity muscle strength before and after being given ROM Spherical Grip exercise in post-stroke patients who experience hemiparesis. This showed that the Spherical Grip could improve the tone of those who experience weakness and if done continuously could increase muscle strength in post-stroke patients. It is hoped that with this research Spherical grip exercises can be used as one of the treatments for stroke patients who experience decreased upper extremity muscle strength and collaborate with physiotherapy also assisted by taking drugs according to doctor's advice.

Abstract

Elderly is a process of life's journey of getting old. Physiological changes in the cardiovascular system experienced by the elderly are hypertension which occurs due to decreased elasticity of the arteries in the aging process. The purpose of this research was to analyze the effect of progressive muscle relaxation on reducing blood pressure in hypertensive elderly in Banjarejo Village. Pre-experimental research design with One group Pre-Post Test Design approach. The research sample is 30 elderly hypertension people with Quota Sampling. Research variables are progressive muscle relaxation therapy and blood pressure. Collecting data using observation sheets, using the Wilcoxon statistical test. The results showed that there were changes in blood pressure before and after therapy, namely systolic blood pressure -7.82 mmHg and diastolic blood pressure -5.54 mmHg. Wilcoxon statistical test showed p value = 0.000 which means there is a change in blood pressure in the elderly after doing progressive muscle relaxation therapy. The conclusion of this research shows that progressive muscle relaxation is a therapy that can be used to lower blood pressure in hypertensive patients.

Abstract

Exclusive breastfeeding for 6 months is one of the global strategies to improve infant growth, development, health and survival. One of the efforts that support the success of breastfeeding is by providing additional food in the form of local plants as functional food ingredients to increase breast milk supply and avoid less than optimal milk production. This research was conducted to explain the content of local plants as functional food ingredients that can help increasing breast milk supply. This literature study research used secondary data from the Google Scholar, Pubmed, Science Direct database with the last 5 years published, and then the journals obtained are identified according to the inclusion and exclusion criteria set by the researcher. The results of a review of 12 journals stated that local plants Moringa leaf, katuk leaf, mung beans, and soybeans as functional food ingredients that can increase breast milk supply because the four plants contain laktagogum effects that can stimulate, maintain and increase breast milk. Local plants Moringa leaf, katuk leaf, mung beans and soybeans as functional food ingredients to increase breast milk supply because they have a laktagogum effect which are consumed in varying doses and ways of consumption, but have the same efficacy, namely increasing the rate of secretion and production of breast milk.
