Abstract

Abstract The main problems of this research are the women leader profile on their leadership in the social organization and how is the Woman Leadership EQ on doing their leadership. The objective of the research is to explore how the woman leaders implement their leadership and to explore their ability to organize: 1) personal awareness; 2) self-management 3) personal motivation; 4) empathy; 5) and how the educational level related to leadership EQ. in this research population is defined as sum and the typical individual who has similarities and to them the result will be suitable. Population on this research is women leader who involve on League of Woman Organization Coordination (BKOW) DIY they are representative of each organization member of BKOW DIY, in total of 47 persons. The technique of the sample taking is with purposing sampling. The data will be analyzed by using analysis percentage descriptive and cross tabulation. Overall the leadership EQ of the respondent shows that those who has  high EQ is 8.6%, the medium level is 87.2% and the low level is 4.2%.it shows that more than 95% of the leadership EQ on women leader who are become  respondent of the research is medium and high and the low level is less than 5%. There is no relation between education and leadership EQ. it means that those who have higher education don’t always have high leadership EQ. This might be caused whether he acts as a shelter or not. Abstract

Abstract The purpose of this research is to develop sport nutrients subject absorbent to the students of Sport Coach Education (SCE) Sport Science Faculty (SSF) at Yogyakarta State University. The raising of comprehended hoping measured by getting point from this subject itself, than totally it will improve the average of GPA (Grade Point Average). Research Design is classroom action through some cycle of activities: planning, acting, observing, and reflecting. Research Subject is Study Program of SCE of SSF Yogyakarta State University students in fifth grade who take sport nutrients subject about 51 students. For monitoring and noting in class is done through observation by two observers using observation sheet. The action of evaluating and reflecting is done through analyzing the result of observation. To evaluate the research result is by comparing between the points for this subject before using laboratory instruction method (period 2001, 2002, and 2003) and after using this method period 2004. The research result shows that laboratory instruction can raise the comprehended of sport nutrients subject to the students of SCE in Yogyakarta State University. The rise of comprehension consists of: point A increases 5.8%, point A- increases 8.2%, point B+ increases 1.9 %, point B increases 30%, point B- increases 4.8%, point C+ increases 2.8 %, point C decrease 43.3%, point D decrease 6.1%. Abstract

Abstract This research is intended to find out (1) scavengers’ needs for self-development based indirectly on the fulfillment of physical needs, the needs for security, social needs, and the needs for self-esteem; (2) the relationship between scavengers’ knowledge about garbage and their needs for self-developments. This is a descriptive research using a causal study method with a sample of 200 persons taken randomly. The subjects of the research were scavengers, i.e. people whose work is to search useful materials among discarded or refused materials/ garbage living in the municipality of Surakarta. Two kinds of instruments were used in this research ; an instrument to reveal the needs for self-development consisting of 40 items (r=0.765), and one to reveal scavengers’ knowledge about garbage consisting of 36 items (r=0.773) and some other supplementary items. The data analyses used were path analysis and simple correlation technique. The results of the research remarked that (1) The needs for self-development was indirectly affected by the fulfillment of physiological needs, the needs of security, social needs, and the needs of self-esteem. This can be seen from the results of path analysis which showed that to reach the needs of self-development, the scavengers have to take some steps hierarchically, i.e. physically needs, the for security, social needs, and the needs of self-esteem. The results of path analysis showed that the coefficients resulted from their paths respectively were higher than those resulted from other paths: X1àX2 = 0.236, X2àX3 0.517, X3àX4= 0.437, and X4àY 0.363 (2)The relationship between  scavengers’ knowledge of garbage and their needs of self-development revealed by using a simple correlation showed the coefficient of correlation of 0.468 at the level of significance of 0.1 Keywords: scavengers’, self-development, self-concept

Abstract

Abstract The high entrepreneurship spirit was the greatest capital in creating the field of job that was more and more limited because of this existence of long-term economic crisis. This research was aimed to find out the entrepreneurship spirit of university students according to gender, the school they came from, their parent’s education and job, and their study program. This research would be performed at the Faculty of Social Science, State University of Yogyakarta (UNY). The population of this program was the university students totaled 1,058 persons for the Education of Business World at the Faculty of Social Science, while the sample taken as many as 105 students and its sampling technique used the proportional random sampling. The technique of collecting data used in this research was the technique of questionnaire. The test of validity was performed by using the technique of Part Whole Correlation and the test of its reliability was used the technique of Alpha. The technique of statistical analysis used was descriptive one, t-test, and Analysis of Variance (ANOVA). This research resulted that (1) the entrepreneurship index of the university students for the Education of Business World was included the enough category, (2) the entrepreneurship index of them was higher in male compared with the female, (3) the students came from senior high school and vocational one had the same entrepreneurship index, (4) there was not a difference in the entrepreneurship index of them looked from their parent’s education, (5) there was not a difference in the entrepreneurship index of them looked from their parent’s job, and (6) their study program for the Education of Economic Cooperation had the highest entrepreneurship index, followed by their ones of Study Program for Accounting and the Education of Office Administration. Abstract

Abstract This action research aims to: (1) generally to improve learning quality of the Engineering Mechanics I Subject for the Building Engineering Education in the Building Engineering Education Department, Faculty of Engineering, the State University of Yogyakarta, for graduated quality improvement, (2) specifically to observe the learning strategy effectiveness of the Engineering Mechanics I Subject through intensity and effectiveness improvement of quiz form practices. The research is a classroom action research. The observation tools use: (1) lecture attendance sheets, (2) observation sheets, and (3) score sheet to note quiz score. The evaluation was conducted using a form-form test. The data analysis uses descriptive statistics to figure out the data condition of interval and transferred data. The research result indicates that: (1) By conducting lectures accompanied by quiz tests for the Engineering Mechanics Subject, the learning achievement will increase, (2) some test-test treatments indicate  that the score achievement tends to increase, (3) Viewed from motivation and student interrelation aspects, the learning activity which always conduct test-tests indicates a dynamic learning atmosphere and inducing a high learning motivation, (4) the learning activity which always conduct tests-tests impacts the students always being ready to participate (more intense) on the delivered lectures, and (5) the faced handicap is it requires a subject problem-bank.
