Abstract

Tulisan ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan penerjemahan istilah budaya bahasa Indonesia ke dalam bahasa Inggris. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif dengan teknik analisis isi yang dilakukan dengan menempuh model alir, yaitu reduksi data, penyajian data, dan menarik kesimpulan. Sumber data penelitian adalah novel Ronggeng Dukuh Paruk karya Ahmad Tohari dan terjemahannya dalam bahasa Inggris dengan judul The Dancer, oleh Rene T.A. Lylsloff. Analisis data dilakukan dengan pendekatan semantik dan teori penerjemahan Newmark. Hasil penelitian adalah sebagai berikut. Pertama, istilah budaya dalam novel Ronggeng Dukuh Paruk dapat diklasifikasikan menjadi beberapa kategori yaitu alat musik, pakaian, asesoris, pekerjaan, dan aktivitas. Kedua, ditemukan tiga istilah alat musik, empat pakaian, dua asesoris, empat pekerjaan, dan dua aktivitas.

Abstract

Gandhi’s non-violance movement has basically been based on moral and religious force. The values that Gandhi promotes include fighting against use of hard force, of weapon; fighting for truth by way of self-purification. His movement is transformative in nature and puts humanity over varied basis of violence in terms culture, language and act. Gandhi’s major ideas are Ahimsa, Stayagrha, Swadeshi, Swaraj, and Sarvodaya—with which Gandhi struggles for the independence and de-colonizing his country, India.

Abstract

The research aims to analyze the influence of emotional intelligence and achievement motivation to achievement in learning of students in Akparnas–Universitas Nasional Jakarta. The Research is descriptive research with used regression analusis and correlation with data os questionnaire collected from the all students at Akparnas – Universitas Nasional Jakarta. The result of research showed that Emotional Intelligence and achievement motivation have a positive and significant effect to achievement in learning. The variable achievement motivation is the most dominant variable to influence achievement in learning with almost powerful dimension is the dimension of need of achievement.

Abstract

Globalization is an expansion, deepening, and acceleration which connect to all aspects of socio-contemporary life around the world. Globalization promotes the development of digital democracy in Indonesia in the form of public sphere channels through cyberspace characterrized by the expansion of global communication and the widespread of institutions and democratic norms demands. Digital democracy brings impact to the emergence of public sphere which becomes the mediation between society and government where the puclic can manage and organize independently as the owners of public opinion in function to advocate and control the government policy through public spheres; one of them is through Change.Org.

Abstract

This article discusses the president-parliament relations, especially its main legislative and executive in a presidential system who often get caught up in the conflict between institution. This article argues, that is the originial of UUD 1945 amendment aim that, Indonesia adheres to a presidential system, but its also contain elements of a parliamentary system, the result is a system of government that is not unusual. The study discover that the Presidential not run optimally, not only from the construction of the constitution and legislation but is also affected by the combination of multiparty, and the President-Parliament relations in practice. Underlying theory perspective is the theoritical limitation of power and the presidential system; to comprehend the concept of a presidential system and its implications.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of teaching technique and language attitude towards students’ speaking skill. The research was conducted through the technique of experiment with a sample size of 96 people in a cluster sampling consisting of two states school students are among 58 students of SMAN 2 Purwakarta, and 58 students of SMAN 3 Purwakarta. Both of them are in class XI. Then they were divided into four groups. The data was collected by carrying out the test results speaking skills for measuring speaking skill and the provision of a questionnaire data were collected and processes through the rules of descriptive statistics and inferential analysis with 2 pathways ANOVA. From the analysis concluded there is a significant effect of teaching technique towards students’ speaking skill. That is proved by value of F0 = 21.324 and Sig. = 0.000 < 0.05. In other words, the average speaking skill of students who are taught by using role-play technique and conventional has significant differences. But there is no significant effect of attitude towards languagespeaking skill. That is proved by the value of F0 = 0.724 and Sig. = 0.397 > 0.05. It means that the difference (Mean) of respondents who have a high attitude with students who have low language attitude is not a significant difference. And there is no significant effect between teaching technique and language attitude towards language speaking skill. That is proved by the value of F0 = 2.894 and Sig. = 0.092 > 0.05
