Abstract

Motivation and inspiration are two words that cannot be separated from student success. By this motivation, students will try to learn hard to achieve the achievement while students who are inspired by something they heard, seen, or felt, will usually be motivated to do creative things.  This is very important for students as agent of change in the world of education. The motivation and inspiration for students can be obtained through the morning briefing activities; the information sharing activities from lecturers to students. This study is what the author did at Politeknik Enjinering Indorama as one of campuses that carried out the morning briefing. The results showed that the morning briefing had an influence on student learning motivation, as evidenced by the chi-square test found no value because the motivation variable showed the same value, not different at all. All respondents in assessing the motivation questionnaire showed the value of AGREE all. The results of statistical analysis show that the morning briefing does not inspire students. This is shown by Asymp. Sig. (2-sided > 0.05, it can be concluded that the morning briefing variable is not related to inspiration. Morning briefings conducted at the Electrical Engineering has an influence on learning motivation, students agree with the morning briefing because it can motivate their learning, but not for the inspiration variable. Morning briefing cannot inspire students of Electrical Engineering students.morning briefing

Abstract

Background : Maternal deaths in Lebak district in 2016 were 38 cases from 21,292 live births. One cause is the help of birth by paraji (not nakes). Coverage coverage of Nakes at Puskesmas Cibadak in 2016 is only reached (71,6%) from target should (90%). While coverage in Panancangan village in 2016 (46.2%). Every year the delivery by health personnel in Panancangan village is always low and has never reached the target set. Objectives : Knowledge “Factors Associated With Selection of Labor Helpers in Panancangan Village, Cibadak Sub-district, Lebak District, Banten Province, 2017”. Methodology: using Cross Sectional design. The population of this study were all maternal mothers from October to December 2017, a total sample of 58 people. The research instrument used questionnaires. Results of analysis: Most (55.17%) of respondents chose labor on non-Nakes, (53.45%) respondents had good knowledge, 56.90% of housewives were close to Faskes, 58.62% health insurance, (53.45%) mother get support from husband / family, (55,17%) mother get support of health worker. Conclusions and suggestions: There is a relationship between the selection of auxiliary maternity helpers (p-palue 0,000), health insurance ownership (p value = 0,000; OR = 18,000), husband / family support (ppalue 0,000), and nakes support value = 0,000; OR = 42,857). While there is no significant relationship is the distance to health facilities (p value = 0.149). Suggestion: Health worker in Panancangan Village further increase counseling, increase pregnant mother class, socialization of P4K, partnership of midwife and paraji shaman to all deliveries safe and assisted by health personnel.

Abstract

The  aim of this research is to reveal the gender violence reflected in patriarchal culture. Gender violence is a global phenomenon and mostly women become the victims. This research is focussing on gender violence towards American women reflected in an American literary work. As a literary research, the data source of this research is an American novel, Journey written by an American woman writer, Danielle Steel. This descriptive qualitative research applied content analysis technique that is performed by taking a flow models, namely data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The findings are as follows. First, the novel Journey written by Danielle Steel reveals three types of gender violence, they are physical, psychological, and sexual abuse. Second, as a literary theory, sociology of literature can be applied to portray gender violence as a social phenomenon in patriarchal culture  through a literary work.

Abstract

The international relations study has experienced a lot of movement in the dinamic, looking at patterns in an increasingly of the dynamic of dipomacy, then it is considered to give the influence into the development of the science of international relations. This paper deals with how the theory or concept of Polilateral Gastrodiplomacy describes the movement patterns of diploamcy. The authors trying to see the interactions between actors in diplomacy, especially in an effort to develop Indonesia's culinary business in Los Angeles. Interactions between these actors and then encourage the presence of a development that can be mutually beneficial but depending on the aspect of what being a concentration. The authors also assume that the interaction that is formed into a new style in running the diplomatic mission of Indonesia.

Abstract

Historicallly, Aceh was and is still part of Indonesia, accrding the proclamation of independent promulgated in 1945. At the infant stage the declared Republic of Unity was transformed into a United Republic of Indonesia. The uncertainty of political situation inspired the Dutch imperial to reoccupied Indonesia. Controntation by the people and the Indonesian government against the Dutch imperial ended on a round table negotiation in Den Haag where the Dutch serendered the sovereign back to Indonesia United Republic. Since Aceh were not part of the Dutch Imperial, and therefore not subjected to this sovereign, Aceh tried to claim an independent territory from Indonesia. Moreover, feel disappointed by unfair and enequal treatment by the Central Government Jakarta, Aceh with GAM proclaims independent. Under the MOU Helsinky, a peace settlement could be reached. An analysis of what is the future of Aceh after this MOU is presented.

Abstract

The phenomenon of Cyber Public Relations in Non-Ministerial Governance Institutions is an interesting thing to be studied. This study raises case studies at one of these institutions, the Agency for the Assessment and Application of Technologies (BPPT), which was awarded as Top IT Institution in 2017. The purpose of this research is to see how far the IT-based institutions perform Cyber Public Relations activities to publish performance and enhance corporate image in the eyes of the public. This research uses qualitative research approach and descriptive research type. Data collection was obtained through observation, interview, and documentation. The findings of research that the dissemination of information conducted public relations BPPT has been using Internet-based media such as websites and utilize social media such as twitter, facebook, instagram, and youtube to publicize. Despite having many advantages, Cyber Public Relations activity is still constrained internet access problems, human resources and also bureaucratic policy.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the role of translation methods in translating idiomatic words from English into Indonesian. The research is focussing on the idiomatic words in English film subtitles into the Indonesian version. It employed qualitative descriptive method. The data sources were English film subtitles “Eurotrip” directed by Jeff Schaffer and its translation in Indonesian version. The data analysis was content analysis using interactive model consisting of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings are as follows. First, there are 92 items of idioms found in the film subtitles, namely substitute (7), proper namen (42),  abbreviation (4), English phrasal compound (7), figures of speech (11), and slang (21). Second, the translator employs four translation methods, there are literal (36), faithful (24), semantic (13) and communicative (19). Third, the translator tends to employ methods oriented to source language and culture. In general, the orientation to the source language and culture can result in a translation which is accurate, acceptable, and highly readable.
