Abstract

This study was aimed at determining the knowledge, attitudes, and skills of women in Belu, barriers to women's political participation and efforts to increase women's political participation in Belu. The aspects used in this research method are the type of research, the research approach, research setting, research schedule, the subject of research, data collection techniques, data analysis techniques, and data validity. The results show that the low participation of women in politics Belu was in luenced by the internal and external factors. The internal factor is the poor quality of women's resources in terms of knowledge, attitude and skills of practical political technique. While the external factors include: political and institutional barriers, cultural barriers patriarchy, socio-economic barriers, and so forth

Abstract

This study was aimed at: (1) generating a guide model of the empowerment of women victims of Merapi eruption through independent businesses literacy education in permanent housing, Glagaharjo, Cangkringan Sleman, (2) improving the women's knowledge, skills and awareness of environmental management for sustainable and productive . The research method used was modi ied Borg and Gall research and development (R D) model . This early stage research generated: (1) issues and potential environmental research, (2) instructional guides in print form and CD learning. The guide has been validated and the result was excellent, so it is feasible. The next stage of the research will be conducting trainings on waste management, fertilizer manufacture, business management and mentoring

Abstract

This study aimed to describe the characteristics of the types of the dinner menu and entertainments that are served to tourists in restaurants, at cultural tourism area of Yogyakarta Kingdom. This study used qualitative methods, and ethnocultural theory approach. The results show that Javanese ethnic (in this case represented by Yogyakarta Kingdom cultural tourism entrepreneurs) presents dishes and typical dance heritage that are 'market table'. The dishes are sega golong, sekul ijo, singgang panggang, bebek suwir, semur piyik, urip-urip gulung, sanggar, sup timlo, pandekuk, prawan kenes, randha tapa, tapak kucing, manuk nom, burdedeg, and bendul with typical drink like Javanese beer and wedang secang. The entertainments showed are Kakung dance and Putri dance

Abstract

This study was aimed at exploring the dynamics of wisdom in managing forest ecosystems as the basis for ecological behavior and preservation of the environment  on Benuaq Society in East Kalimantan through indigenous perspective. This study used qualitative descriptive-Explorative method. Data of this study were obtained through interviews and observations. The results show that the use of forests is based on the maintenance of balance and sustainability of forest resources as a form of harmonious relations and human responsibility to the natural environment. The local wisdom is re lected in the habits of life and the social values that lasted a long time . The value of self-transcendence, social-altruistic, and biospheric become reinforcement in ecological behavior intention to care for the forest. A form of environmental wisdom is emonstrated in the oral arts. Farming knowledge and technologies used do not harm the environment. Land use like Umaq, Simpuk, and the swelling are developed by the Benuaq conservation behavior. Customs regulations role as controller in the system of ecologically sustainable behavior in forest management

Abstract

This study was aimed at expressing commands and prohibitions contained in Serat Wulang Reh. The object of this study was Serat Wulang Reh manuscript. The data of this study were lingual units that can be gatra (arranged) or the combination of gatra containing marker (symbol). The markers were analyzed based on the form of the basis word or derivatives of the basic words that contain af ixes and can be interpreted as a command or prohibition. The result shows that the use of markers to express commands from human to another human in Serat Wulang Reh are more varied than that are used to express prohibitions. The marker that is used to express a command has a different intensity; that are irm until fewer irms. The marker that is used to express prohibition must be avoided regarding the relationship between human with God and human’s relationship with each other has the same meaning. This is apparent on the lingual unit used by the following: aja jangan’, aywa ‘jangan’, dan nora kena ‘tidak boleh'

Abstract

The study was aimed at examining the use of polite language (language use) in Kupang Malay speech community. There are two basic theories of this research; speech act and linguistic politeness theory. The politeness theory was combined with speech act theory, because the speech act theory investigates what to choose, while the theory of politeness investigate whether the utterances are polite or not. In speech, the BMK speaker also uses the six the principles of politeness toward the listeners. These principles are tact maxim, generosity maxim, approbation maxim, modesty maxim, agreement maxim, and sympathy maxim
