Pada Bulan Agustus 2020, Jurnal Ilmu Kesehatan Masyarakat (IKESMA) memulai kolaborasi dengan Perhimpunan Sarjana dan Profesional Kesehatan Masyarakat Indonesia (PERSAKMI) untuk penerbitan jurnal. Sejak tahun 2022, Jurnal Ilmu Kesehatan Masyarakat (IKESMA) meningkatkan frekuensi terbitan menjadi 4 kali dalam satu tahun (Maret, Juni, September, dan Desember).

Abstract

The main problem at Surabaya city is waste problem. By 2.160 ton/ day, pile of waste was produced at Surabaya, so that an effort of community based waste management are needs to be done. Type of research is an observational by comparing between assisted and unassisted areas. Sample on research is 1000 people. Analyze technique used are descriptive and analytical. The results showed that respondents in assisted areas who have committed on waste management are 66.6% (range 5.1 – 91.5%). The amount is higher than in the control/ unassisted areas, which only 4.6% respondents who did the same things (range 1.7 – 6.4%). Chi-square test result demonstrated the value of P = 0,000 which is smaller than α = 0.05. According to the result of study, it is suggested to increasing motivation about the importance of sorting and processing waste at waste point source by continuity assistance to communities about periodically waste reducing program at neighborhood, village, sub district and city levels.   Keywords: behavior, waste management.

Abstract

Street children are vulnarable to the risk of sexuality transmitted diseaase as well as HIV and AIDS infections. This study aims to analyze personal and social factors influencing street children’s sexual behavior and its risk to Sexually Transmitted Disease and HIV-AIDS. The study is kuantitative research with cross sectional approach, involved a total of 62  samples derived from 178 Children On the Street population, aged 5-21 years old. Data were collected using questionnaires and were analysed using logistic regression statistical method. Social learning theory was applied as a base of the conceptual framework of the study so personal and environment factor are independent variable within dependent variable. The findings showed that the sexual behavior in children on the street is risk (51,6%), which was partly related to characteristics of sample are age, activity in the street, long time of children in the street, usage of addiktive substance, type of children on the street and attitude of heath reproductive, PMS and HIV/AIDS. The findings also showed that attitude of health reproductive, PMS and HIV/AIDS and support of leader group in count of probability 65,8%. The study suggested that construction children on the street to the fore it expected require to improve ugly knowledge and the attitude which are positive about health reproductive, PMS And HIV/AIDS, and approach to leader groups of children in the street. Abstract

Diphtheria is a reemerging disease. In Jember Regency, diphtheria cases have increased from the year 2009 with 2 cases and 2010 up to 6 cases. Positive contact of diphtheria is a potential source of infection. The objective of this research was to analyze the factors that influence the positive contacts of diphtheria. This research used cross sectional design. This research was conducted in 6 working areas of public health centers in Jember Regency. Subjects were all positive and negative contact cases based on the laboratory results in 2010  from Jember District Health Office. The sampling techniques used were proportional random sampling. The samples involved were 61 people. Data analysis used was logistic regression test with α = 0.05. The research results showed that the significant factors influencing the occurrence of positive contacts of diphtheria were age (0.042) and the closeness of contacts (0.001). Meanwhile, the factors that mostly affected the occurrence of positive contacts of diphtheria were the closeness of contacts with the risk of 12.4 times higher in one-home close contacts than those in neighborhood, school friends and playmates. The recommendations that can be given are to provide prophylaxis on all contacts of diphtheria, to use a mask at the positive contacts of diphtheria, to employ a drug-taking supervisor in the delivery of prophylactic medication, to provide additional immunization of diphtheria toxoids to the age of adolescence and adulthood, and to socialize health-record card keeping ​​. Abstract

The high prevalence of HIV-AIDS can lead to a decrease of productive age number in Indonesia. This problem can be attributed to the risk to high school adolescent, as one of the risk group for HIV-AIDS infection. This infection risk can be declined by health education. Quantum learning is the appropriate education method for adolescent. This study aims to identify the attitude of high school teenager in preventing HIV-AIDS before and after quantum learning intervention. The research method was pre-experimental research using one group pre and post test design. Sample was selected using probability sampling method and stratified random sampling technique. The sample were 39 students. The Data analyzed usedwilcoxon test with α< 0,05. The result showed were the attitude in preventing HIV-AIDS before intervention was 21 person (53,8%) positive attitude and 18 person (46,2%) negative attitude while the attitude in preventing HIV-AIDS after intervention was 31 person (79,5%) positive attitude and 8 person (20,5%) negative attitude. There was a significant attitude in preventing HIV-AIDS of adolescent at Miftahul Ulum Suren Islamic senior High School change (p=0,004, 95% CI) after quantum learning intervention. Based on the findings, it is imperative to improve attitude on HIV-AIDS prevention factors of senior high school teenager. It is also important to improve guided supervision and conseling ability from teacher. Keywords : to prevent HIV/AIDS, attitude, adolescent, quantum learning.

Abstract

The realization of Case Detection Rate (CDR) per primary health center was still below the target, namely 55 % of the total 49 Primary Health Center. Although there was a positif trend of increase of realization of the CDR target, however the increase was relatively slow, only 2 % per annum. The realization of CDR in Primary Health Center was very much affected by; first, the active participation of the community (passive case detection); second, the participation of private health services nearby the primary health centers; third, the human resource available at the Primary Health Centers (Performance of the TB officer. The objective of this research was to analyze the factors ( age, knowledge, motivation, incentives), which were dominantly assosiated to performance of the TB officers at the Primary Health Centers in Jember District in 2010. The  research used an observational analytical method with cross sectional appoach. The population of the study was all the TB officers  at the primary health centers in Jember District. The total samples were 49 persons (total population). The data were collected by using questionnaires and structure interviews. The methods of data analysis were univariate and bivariate. The results of bivariate analysis based on the value of prevalence ratio for each variable were : knowledge (3,112), motivation (2,832), age (2,668) and incentive (1,558). The conculsion of this research, that dominant variables affecting the performance of the TB officers respectively were knowledge, motivatoin, age and incentives. Abstract

Nursing services in the hospital for 24 hours a day, that have constant contact with the patient. Therefore, the nursing services at the hospital is an integral part of health care and contribute highly to determine the quality of hospital services. Based on patient data visit of Inpatient Installation of RSD Dr. Soebandi Jember which have increased from year to year, especially the highest number at interna unit. So that the necessary studies to calculate the optimal needs of nurses in the internal ward inpatient installation by the WISN (Workload Indicator Staffing Need) method . This study aims to determine the optimal number of nursing staff requirements in Section Inpatient Unit Interna of RSD. Dr. Soebandi based on real workload with WISN method. This study is a descriptive study with quantitative data analysis by the method of work sampling. The data was collecting used work sampling form. Samples were chosen activities every ten minutes which done by staff in 24 hours. Primary data collected by observation of worker activity pattern in six days. Secondary data source collected from medical record and human resources unit in Dr. Soebandi Hospital Jember. The results showed that the use of productive time of the total available working time is 76.5%. With details of the productive activity of 26.16% direct, indirect productive by 37.19% and 13.12% of nonfunctional. Based on WISN calculation method, the number of personel that needed is 25 people. So with the result that concludes, this time Interna Ward requires one more personel. Key Words : WISN, work load, nurse

Abstract

By increasing human population, the problem of waste is become a serious problem in urban communities. Surabaya is the second largest city produce waste as much as 8,700 m3/day. Alternative solutions in dealing with municipal waste are waste management based on community’s participation. The purpose of this study was to determine the public perception in community-based waste management. Type of research is an observational by comparing between assisted and unassisted areas. Sample on research is 1000 people. Analyze technique used are descriptive and analytical. The results showed that respondents in assisted areas who have perception suggest in a way to handling municipal waste is sorting and processing at point of source (household/ neighborhood) are 72.6% (range 52.9 – 89.0%). The amount is higher than in the control/ unassisted areas, which only 43.9% respondents (34.8 – 76.2%) who have the same perception. Chi-square test result demonstrated the value of P = 0,000 which is smaller than α = 0.05. According to the result, it is suggested to assisting enhancement at communities by intensive and integrated surveillance monitoring supported. Establishment of natural leader from the communities is the effective’s way to optimizing the participation communities program.   Keywords : perception, waste management, community’s participation

Abstract

Being a transvestites  is assumed  as deviate behaviour by our society. It is severed with negative stigmatization  as bad    image, dirty, criminal, and having  deviate  sexual orientation, cause this group of people have more risky toward psychological and sexual impact in transmision of STD    and HIV/AIDS. Sosialization proces is needed by transvestitesgeting acceptance in social environment, because transvestites  could not separate from social context. This study aims to analyze the stigmatization  and sosialization process toward transvestites and its impact for the increasing of transmission risk from   STD and HIV/AIDS.It was a qualitative study involved informants aged 25-54  with purposive sampling  in Semarang city. Data  was collected by indepht interview and they’re analyzed by thematic content analysis. The result of this study showed that stigmatization to transvestites was derived from public  society and religius community.  This  rejection  impacts at sosialization    process in family, work place  and society.  Because  our society  assume transvestites identical with deviate behaviour from the norm, and having tranvestites as the family member means ignominy. Consequently they choose as a urbant people.  It cause the increasing of transmission risk on STD and HIV/AIDS.  There are no obstacle in sosialization process with other transvestites  in cebongan. Cebongan is the place they can express themself without rejection from   others. So they can be received as normal individual.  Society is expected accepting  them as a part of their live, with involved them include transvestites with HIV/AIDS in society activity.Key words : Transvestites, stigmatization, sosialization process, STD and HIV/AIDS
