Abstract

One of the effort to prevent complications in diabetes mellitus patients is by improving the management of self management behavior for life, including self management related to health care. which influences and increases patients self management and patients self efficacy. The purpose this study is to determine the relationship between self efficacy and self management of patients with diabetes in the working area Puskesmas Harapan Pekanbaru. This research used descriptive correlation research design with a cross sectional approach. The research sample of 72 respondents were taken according to inclusion citeria by using purposive sampling technique. Measuring instruments in this study used a questionnaire. Analysis used is univariate analysis to determine the frequency distribution and bivariate analysis using Chi Square. The results of research on relationship of self efficacy and self management are of 39 respondents with high self efficacy 38 people (97,4%) with good self management and only I person with self management is sufficient. While the results for low self efficacy that have good self management there are only 22 people (66,7%) and with sufficient self management there are 11 people (33,3%). Based on the Chi Square result obtained p value = 0,000 < α (0,05) and it can be concluded that there is a relationship between self efficacy and self management in people with diabetes mellitus. Result of this study are recommended for people with diabetes mellitus to more attention to their health all components of self-management in a disclipned manner.Keywords: diabetes mellitus self efficacy, self management

Abstract

Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) is a serious illness in which one of the treatments is hemodialysis therapy. It requires good self-management since the patients are prone to experiencing psychosocial problems. The study aims to analyze articles on self-management and psychosocial aspects of CKD patients undergoing hemodialysis. A literature review is used as a method of the study. There are some tools used to find related articles such as google scholar, scient direct, and PubMed. The English keywords are self-management AND hemodialysis patients, and psychosocial AND hemodialysis patients. While Indonesian keywords are self-management DAN pasien hemodialisis and psikososial DAN pasien hemodialisis in the 2016-2020 period. 7 research articles are analyzed over 19,428 articles that have been screened. The literature review from 7 articles shows that the majority of respondents are aged ≥ 40 years (48.81%) and male (47.5%). Self-management’s assessment of 3 articles using different questionnaires shows that the majority of respondents have poor self-management. Besides, the results of the psychosocial aspects of 4 articles state that most respondents experience anxiety, stress, and depression while they are having good social support. It is recommended for workers in the hemodialysis unit to always encourage patients about the importance of self-management and families to provide support. It helps to reduce the psychosocial impact on patients.Keywords: Hemodialysis, psychosocial, self-management

Abstract

Stroke is a permanent neurological disease caused by disruption of blood flow to the brain, usually lasts 24 hours or more. Stroke can cause disability, both minor and severe. The impact of disability varies, from a decrease in the quality of life of an individual after a stroke due to disrupted activities, needing help from family / other people, to being completely dependent on other people, therefore, family support is needed in the care of stroke patients. This study aims to determine the relationship between family support and self-efficacy in stroke patients. This study uses a literature review method. Search for published articles using google scholar and the Garuda portal, keywords in English, namely family support AND self-efficacy AND stroke patient, and in Indonesian includes family support + self-efficacy and stroke patients in the 2016-2020 range. Of the 516 articles that were screened, 7 research articles were reviewed. The literature review shows that from 7 articles the majority of respondents' ages are ≥ 46 years (41.15%) and the majority are male (51.38%). The results of the description of family support from 4 articles, most of the respondents had quite good family support (54.6%). While the results of the self-efficacy description from 3 articles, most of the respondents experienced high self-efficacy (45.22%). Recommendations for health workers to explain the importance of providing family support to family members, especially stroke patients. Keywords: Family support, self efficacy, stroke

Abstract

Introduction: Stress can affect sleep quality. This study aims to look at the relationship between academic stress levels and online-based distance lecturing systems on the sleep quality of first-year students. Methods: The descriptive correlation study design used a cross-sectional approach. Sample 107 respondents, sampling simple random sampling. The analysis used univariate analysis to see the frequency distribution and bivariate using the Chi-Square test. Results: The majority of respondents from program A 2019 1 were 58 (55.1%). The majority of respondents aged 19 years were 65 (60.7%). The majority of the respondent's sex is female as much as 93 (86.9%). The majority of respondents' achievement index (IP) was 2.76-3.50 (very satisfying) as many as 84 (78.5%). The results showed that respondents with severe academic stress levels, 49 respondents (51.9%) experienced poor sleep quality, while 42 respondents (39.1%) had poor sleep quality. The statistical test results obtained p-value = 0.193> α (0.05), which means that Ho failed to be rejected, it can be concluded that there is no relationship between the level of academic stress and the online-based distance lecture system on the sleep quality of first-year students. Conclusion: The results of this study are expected to be an input for educational institutions as a source of information in efforts to prevent stress and poor sleep quality disorders in students.Keywords: Academic stress level, distance lecture system, sleep quality

Abstract

Introduction: New students in their tertiary institutions have to adapt to their new environmental situation as students both academically and non-academically, this is a trigger for anxiety and depression in early grade students. One of the efforts to overcome anxiety is how individual perceptions and assessments of the situation at hand, namely the aspect of confidence in self-efficacy called self-efficacy. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between anxiety and self-efficacy in new students of the Faculty of Nursing, University of Riau. This study used a descriptive correlation research design through a cross sectional approach. The number of samples in this study were 107 people who were taken using the simple random sampling technique. The measuring instrument used was a questionnaire that had previously been tested for validity and reliability. The analysis used is univariate and bivariate analysis with an alternative test, namely Fisher Exact. The results showed that there was a significant relationship between anxiety (p value 0.000 <0.05) and self-efficacy. Based on the results of this study, it is expected to be a source of information in the development of knowledge about the relationship between anxiety and self-efficacy in new students. Abstract

Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) is one of the most serious diseases in the world with increasing prevalence from year to year. Hemodialysis is one of therapy forms for people with CKD. The problem that often occurs in hemodialysis patients is the increase in body weight between dialysis times which can cause symptoms that disturb the patient, so it can affect patient's life quality. This study aims to analyze research articles on the correlation between IDWG and life quality of CKD patients undergoing hemodialysis. This study uses literature review method. Data sources of published article search are conducted on google scholar, science direct and pubmed. The results of the study were based on 6 articles, the majority of respondents' ages were ≥ 45 years old (85,5%), most respondents (52,86%) had average IDWG percentage (4-6%), and the results of life quality assessment showed that the articles using WHOQOL-BREF the majority of patients' life quality was moderate, whereas articles using SF-36 the majority of patients' life quality was poor. Abstract

Surgery is a potential and actual threat to a person's integrity, which can generate an anxiety response in the patient, the patient who is able to control his perception of the operation he is going to undergo, will be able to bring calm to himself, one's calm can be obtained from a spiritual level, one's distance from spiritual can cause a person to stress easily in dealing with problems in his life. The purpose of this literature study is to determine the effect of spiritual healing on the anxiety level of preoperative patients. The method used is literature review. The article search uses Google Scholar and PubMed with the keywords spirituality, anxiety, preoperative patients in the 2016-2020 period. Based on the 7 articles reviewed, it shows that there is an influence between spiritual healing on the level of anxiety in patients who are going for surgery. The high spirituality possessed by a patient can reduce the anxiety experienced by preoperative patients. This is because someone who has spiritual always surrenders to God so that he creates his own calm in facing the operation he will undergo. Spiritual healing interventions can improve emotional intelligence, be able to understand the condition, surrender and realize that everything is a blessing from Allah SWT so that it can increase coping which can reduce anxiety levels. Nurses can provide spiritual intervention in pre-operative patients to reduce anxiety levels. Keywords: Anxiety, preoperative patients, spirituality

Abstract

The majority of internet users in Indonesia are adolescents aged 15-19 years makes traditional bullying transforms into cyberbullying. This study aims to determine the cyberbullying behavior of adolescents in Senior High School 9 Pekanbaru with descriptive quantitative design. The sample consisted of 250 respondents who were selected using proportional stratified random sampling technique. The Cyber Victim and Bullying Scale (CVBS) questionnaire is used to collect the data. The univariate analysis is used in this research. The results obtained that 54,8% (137 respondents) and 58% of adolescents (145 respondents) showed level of tendency of being cyberbullying perpetrators and victims in medium category. Cyberbullying action that is often done by respondents is cyberstalking which was 26,8% of adolescents (67 respondents). 32% adolescents (80 respondents) who had done cyberbullying claimed the reason was because they wanted to entertain themselves. In this study, it was found that all respondents had been both perpetrators and victims of cyberbullying. Based on the results of this study, it can be concluded that someone who is a perpetrators also has the opportunity to become a victim of cyberbullying. The reason why adolescents had done cyberbullying was because they wanted to entertain themselves shows the decreased in adolescent moral quality. The results of this study recommend the school to limit the used of gadgets by students in the school environment.Keywords: adolescents, CVBS (the Cyber Victim and Bullying Scale), cyberbullying behavior

Abstract

Diabetes mellitus (DM) is a chronic disease that occurs when the body cannot produce enough insulin or when the body cannot effectively use insulin. Symptoms of DM are grouped into two types, namely type I DM and type II DM, type I DM is insulin dependent while type II DM is caused by a combination of insulin resistance in the body. DM complications can cause peripheral neuropathy, which is one of the microvascular complications of DM which can cause damage to autonomic, sensory and motor nerve function. This study aims to describe the characteristics of microvascular complications of peripheral neuropathy in DM patients in the Rejosari Public Health Center, Pekanbaru. The research design was descriptive with a cross sectional approach. The sample in this study were 30 respondents using purposive sampling technique. The measuring instrument used was the peripheral neuropathy microvascular observation sheet. The analysis used is descriptive. The results showed that the majority of respondents had moderate peripheral neuropathy damage as many as 26 respondents (86.7%). The majority of respondents experienced multiple autonomic damage as many as 30 respondents (100.0%) on the sensory nerve examination, it was found that the majority of respondents felt no sensation with 17 respondents (56.7%) and the results of motor nerve examination the majority of respondents experienced a decrease in muscle strength by 19 respondents (63.3%). This study suggests that screening and counseling at the health center regarding microvascular neuropathy complications and how to treat complications of peripheral neuropathy in type II DM patients is very important.Keywords: Diabetes mellitus, microvascular complications, neuropathy
