Abstract

Information technology is employed to allow its users to manage information more quickly and effectively today. Advances in technology at the hospitality industry has evolved over the years. Strategic planning is one way that allows companies or organizations to increase competitive advantages and minimize disadvantages. The development of technology in the hospitality field has resulted in better business processes. This paper aims at producing IT strategic planning for the hospitality industry to support the hotel business processes. The method used in this research is the IT strategic planning framework introduced by John Ward. New applicationsportfolio such as Mobile Web Application, CRM, Knowledge Management System, Information Technology Balance Score Card (ITBSC) and Enterprise Architecture (EA) are proposedby the IT strategic planning at the hospitality industry. Keywords: IT strategic planning, tourism, portfolio application

Abstract

Toiletor water closet is ahome furnishingwhich sole purposeis a place for sewage, urine andfeces. Based onvalidity andreliability test,the use ofsquatting closetfor a long periodcan causeleg pain, cramps, tinglingpainin weaklegand knee pain. There are various products and designs of flush toilets which are not suitable for middle to low income people as the price is higher than the squatting closet. The research findings suggested that many people did not have flush toilets at home. It is therefore important to design a prototype to address the problem of squatting closet. The prototype design was in accordance with the respondents’ data based on ergonomics and anthropometric science. The design includes a 20cm high backrest, 37cm seat width, 42cm seat length, 41cm backrest width, and 43cm seat height.  Keywords: validity and realibility test, prototype,anthropometric, ergonomics

Abstract

Gas stations are public facilities crucial for motorists. Mobile applications installed in smartphones such as GPS and integrated internet connection can help motorists  find the nearest gas station in a fast and easy way. Mobile application used in this research is based on Android platform considering the android’s popularity. This application can be employed to locate the gas station  around its user’s location and to navigate them to the nearest one. Finding out the nearest location route can minimize the risk of running out of fuel. Users can also maximize the use of smartphone by using this application. A series of steps taken in this research include literature study, observation, flowchart design, Unified Modeling Language (UML), and interface and database design. Abstract

 Competition in this globalization era has led manufacturing enterprises improving their production andservices by enhancing the engine utility and accuracy in the production completion to meet the schedule set. PT. XYZ is a company engaged in the automotive industry, especially in the field of stamping parts or four-wheeled vehiclescomponents. The purpose of this study is to minimize the processing time (makespan) of the ISUZU stamping parts production process in the Line B of PT. XYZ. The proposed scheduling method consists of two: Campbell, Dudek, and Smith (CDS) and Nawaz, Enscore and Ham (NEH). CDS Methods combine machines sorted from the smallest to the largest based on the Johnsons rule. NEH heuristic sorted the job in two different sequences (J1-J2 and J2-J1), selected the smallest makespan and carried it on until the n jobs. The two methods applied resulted in different job sequences to be compared with the scheduling applied in the company. NEH method is a method with the best makespan time which is 4,858 minutes. Abstract

Transactions over the internet are uncontrolled both from the legal clarity and trade tax aspects. The increasing number of deception and fraud cases emphasizes the importance of a system or a governing body to manage online trade. This system or body should issue permits for or approve the legitimacy of commercial websites. The online transactions are expected to be better organized and legally existed. The government can also apply trade tax for online transactions. Abstract

PT Mulia Knitting Factory (PT KMF) is a textile industry that produces cloth rolls for the manufacture of clothing in addition to  underwear as its main product. There are two kinds of cloth rolls produced: plain cloth rolls and patterned cloth rolls. After the drying process, wet cloth rolls were still found. The operator’s lack of training, the old drying machine, the different absorption level of materials, and the inappropriate temperature were estimated to be the causes. PT MKF wanted to decrease the wet cloth rolls after the drying process by improving the machine performance so that potential losses can be minimized. The Taguchi method is therefore appliedto determine the process temperature to be used in the drying process. Taguchi method resulted in100oC internal temperature and 96oC external temperature for white yarn,103oC internal temperature and 98oC external temperature for light colored yarn, and 108oC internal temperature and 103oC external temperature for dark colored yarn. Using the obtained temperature settings had decreased the numbers of wet yarns. The white yarn decreased from 20.2 chees to 10.999 chees,  the light colored yarn decreased from 12 chees to 6.999 chees, and the dark colored yarn from 25chees to 10.833 chees. Keywords: improvement, Taguchi Method, process temperature, desain of experiment

Abstract

Multiple Intelligence considers nine aspects of intelligence. It descriptively sees how people use their intelligence to solve problems and produce something. Every child has a variety of intelligences, but one intelligence is the most dominant. Determining a child’s multiple intelligences can be done through  an expert system. This expert system presents a number of information and determinant test of a child’s multiple intelligence which is web based and can be accessed through a computer browser. Abstract

Stress has various effects on human’s body. People are frequently unaware that they are suffering from stress. Stress detection system can be useful to identify common stress symptoms and to avoid the stress level increase.  One indicator of stress is changes in blood pressure. This project aims at examining blood pressure to detect stress level and at detecting stress by using fuzzy logic with bio-signal inputs. Based on Pulse Wave Transit Time and Diastolic Time, blood pressure can be measured using photoplethysmograph attached to the finger and electrocardiogram attached to the body.  The study shows that the blood pressure increase is an indicator of stress although the increase varies for each individual. Abstract

This paper is aimed at answering the needs of SMAK Penabur Harapan Indah students to get information from the Student Service Center using Information Kiosk System concept. There is a tendency that students need up-to-date information to support their school work. This system will help improving the information service quality to meet the students’ need for more accurate information. The service will be an added value for SMAK Penabur Harapan Indah –Bekasi in competing with other schools in Bekasi area. SDLC used in this paper is the Water Fall type. Abstract

Change-Constrained Programming (CCP) is an optimization model developed to solve probabilistic problems. In real world, particularly  in the industry, constrained coefficients and right-hand side constants cannot be firmly determined. This paper explains how the CCP is used to optimize the company profits by making various products using various machines that have limited capacity and are probabilistic.
