Abstract

One of a competent resource that is needed by a company to survive and develop is leader. Bernard Bass stated that every leader need to have two kinds of leadership style, i.e. transformational and transactional leadership style. Based on the factual complaints that derived from PT HSL’s employees especially to the leader of production division, this study want to explain the leadership style of that leader. Quantitative-descriptive used in this study. A-120 employees of division production are participated by filling a psychological instrument named Multifactor Leadership Questionnaire (MLQ, α = 0,825). This study found that PT HSL’s leader of production division was rated under-average either transformational or transactional leadership style (Mtransformational = 50,69<54; Mtransactional = 32,33<33). Further, 42 employees (35%) perceived the PT HSL’s leader of production division poorly on both leadership styles. Keywords: leadership style, Multifactor Leadership Questionnaire, MLQ

Abstract

The massive competitions in bussiness era make organizations need to get more active to face the competitions atmosphere. PT CAB is one of the company in Jakarta that has core bussiness in clothing production and distribution. This company has been growing and want to start to go public in several years later. That purpose can be reached if organization has and know organization culture that suitable with company vision, because organization culture has a big role to reach the company vision. To know dominant type of organization culture in PT CAB, then it needed to observe using a tool Organization Culture Assessment Instrument (OCAI). Observation result showed that organization culture in PT CAB nowadays is clan culture, a culture with high tolerance characteristic, but situation that needed to exist sustainability is market culture, where as the main focus is reach the organization target. Keywords: Organizational culture, Organizational Culture Assessment Instrument (OCAI), Clan, Adhorarchy, Market, Hierarchy

Abstract

The aim of this study is to measure the relationship between job stres and job satisfaction using TARSQ (Teacher Attribution of Responsibility for Stres Questionnaire)  adapted from McCormick and TJSQ (Teacher Job Satisfaction Questionnaire) adapted from Lester. The participants were the teachers from private Junior High School Surakarta (SMP 3K Surakarta). There were 41 teachers involved in this study. The determinants of Job Stres that have been examined under this study include personal aspect, behavior aspect, cognitive aspect, physiology aspect, and organizational aspect. The aspect of Job satisfaction are challenging work, promotion and salary, working condition, colleagues, and leadership. Pearson Correlation analyses were used to investigate the hypothesized relationship. The result showed r = -0.392 with p = 0,011 < 0.05. There was a negative significant relationship between job stres and job satisfaction. Keywords: job stres, job satisfaction, TARSQ, TJSQ

Abstract

This study aims to describe about housemaid’s stressor and how they cope with those stressors in life. The variables in this research are work’s stress and coping style. The instrument used in this research was a questionnaire which made by researcher. Reliability test with Alpha Cronbach indicates reliable value of 0,884 for work’s stress scale and 0,873 for coping style scale. The data collected from 162 respondents and the analysis data used in this research was descriptive statistics. The result showed that 33.33 percent of the subjects had a high work stress tendency, and the coping style is most often used is emotional-focused coping (51.85 percent). Keywords: stress, coping, housemaid

Abstract

The aim of research was found out job stress and psychological tension as the predictor to job satisfaction people in company of Central Java. Subjects consisted of 93 people of companies in Central Java, Indonesia. A  job related tension index by Wolfe, Quinn, Snoek and Rosental (Mustapha, 1994) was used to assess job stress.  A psychological tension questionnaire by Caplan, Cobb, and French (Brief et al, 1981) used to assess psychological tension.Validity coefficient of job stress was 0,333 – 0,589 and reliabilility coefficient was 0,828; validity coefficient of psychological tension was 0,357 – 0,630 and reliability coefficient was 0,765; validity coefficient of job satisfaction was 0,302 – 0,602 and reliability coefficient was 0,808. The statistical methods used multiple regression. The result obtained R = 0.407 with F = 8,931 and p = 0,000 < 0,01; indicate that there are significant effects together of  job stress  and psychological tension as the predictor to job satisfaction.
