ELEMENTARY Journal (Print ISSN: 2355-0155; Online ISSN: 2503-0256) is an Islamic teacher journal published by Islamic Elementary School Teacher Education Study Program (PGMI), Islamic Education (Tarbiyah) Department, State College on Islamic Studies (STAIN) Kudus. Elementary is published twice a year (every six months, i.e. January and July) as scientific communication means of academic people in the study of Islamic Elementary School Teacher Education. Editorial Board receives the articles from the educators, observers, researchers on Islamic Elementary School Teacher Education to be published after having tight selection, peer review, and serious editting.

Abstract

Character education is an important issue in the world of late-adult education. This is related to the phenomenon of moral decadence that occurs in the midst of society as well as in an increasingly diverse government environment. Among others include crime, injustice, corruption, violence in children, to the violation of human rights. This proves that there is indeed a crisis of identity and characteristics of the Indonesian nation. The existence of character education becomes an appropriate answer to the various problems that have been mentioned previously. It is known that character education is defined as education which develops character values in children so that they have values and character as their character, apply those values in their life, as members of society and religious, nationalist, productive and creative citizens. School as a place of education providers is expected to be a place capable of realizing the mission of character education.

Abstract

This research aims to describe and to analyze about: 1) how to improve professional competence of mismatch teachers in Islamic religious education (PAI) in Islamic ElementarySchool of Pecangaan, 2) the effects on teachers' pedagogic competence, 3) how far the efforts of the mismatch teachers in solving the problem.This research is a descriptive qualitaive research. Based on the object of this research, it is included in a field of research. The methods used in this research are observation, interview and documentation. The result of this research shows: 1) there are efforts reconstructed in Islamic ElementarySchool of Pecangaan used to improve the professional competence of the mismatch teacher, such as: a) involved in a training, b) supervising, c) additional book, d) MGMP; 2) professional competence of the mismatch teachers influence their pedagogic competence, 3) the mismatch teachers condition relates to pedagogic competence create some problems, however the teachers solve them in some steps, they are: a) self adaptation and exercising, b) self study, c) checking references from books and internet, d) self exercising on using electronic media.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the steps of developing teaching materials in the form of brochures and know the feasibility of teaching brochure materials in learning Islamic Religious Education in primary schools. The method used Research and Development (R & D) with reference to that developed by Borg & Gall. Development steps are product analysis to be developed (needs analysis), initial product development, validation and revision, small-scale field trials and revisions, large-scale field trials and final product acquisition. Data were collected using interview guides, validation sheets, questionnaires, observation sheets, and tests (pre-test and post-test). The subjects of the study were the fourth grade students of SD Muhammadiyah SD Muhammadiyah Trini Gamping Sleman. The result of the research shows that the development of teaching materials for brochures is feasible to be used for Islamic education learning. By using teaching materials brochure can integrate the spiritual values in the learning process of Islamic religious education to learners in elementary school.

Abstract

This paper aims to analyze Islamic education model with multiple intelligences approach developed by munif chatib perspective. This study analyzes the relevant literature. Data collection was done by analyzing the books of Munif Chatib, interviews, journals and collect data from other relevant sources. As a result: Firstly, the design concept of Multiple Intelligences by Munif Chatib, globally covering three important stages, namely: input, process and output. At the input stage, using the Multiple Intelligences Research in the acceptance of new students. The second stage is the learning process, style teaching teachers equal to the force student learning. In the output stage, the assessment of multiple intelligences based learning is using authentic assessment. Second, multiple intelligence based education relevant applied in Islamic education both micro and macro.

Abstract

This research is a qualitative research aimed to describe management process in guiding teacher soft skill through halaqoh activity for PPA succession in SD al-Irsyad al-Islamiyyah Purwokerto. The results showed four findings. First, the planning of teacher's soft skill development through halaqoh activities is done by formulating halaqoh objectives, formulating teacher standardization, preparing halaqoh agenda, halaqoh officer schedule and halaqoh SOP. Second, the organizing of teacher's soft skill activities through halaqoh activities is done by assigning tasks to principals, musyrif and mu'allim. Third, the benefits gained from the implementation of this guidance activity is the quality and quantity of worship and the recitation of controlled teacher's Quran. It makes teacher soft skill renewable and has implications for the success of the Program of Morals Education for students. Fourth, controlling activities are carried out by the principal and mu'allim. The principal controls the presence of the teacher on halaqoh activities, while the mu'allim controls tahsin and tahfidz activities as well as the daily worship of the teacher.

Abstract

This article explains the problem of soft skills in elementary school. So far, the orientation of education focused on hard skills while soft skills play a lot on social environment after graduating from school almost untouched at all. This research use descriptive qualitative method with qualitative analysis technique of content (content analysis). The result show that the problem of soft skills in basic education is the competence of the professional profession although it is rich in the concept of general education and Islamic education. But when it is not balanced with the competence of the profession the teacher will have implications on the readiness to deal with the social environment during adulthood.

Abstract

Bagus (good), ngaji (reciting the Qur’an) dan dagang (trading) formely known as gusjigang. The term has deeply-rooted in the life of peoples in Kudus district Central Java province Indonesia. Gusjigang are Kudus peoples represented on good appearance, good attitude, entrepreneurial spirit, and life-long learning passion. This article aims to know the relevance of soft skill and gusjigang values as a local wisdom. “Gus” value from gusjigang is relevance with communication skill and team works. “Ji” values from gusjigang are relevant with lifelong learning soft skill. “Gang” values are relevant with entrepreneurship soft skill. The integration of gusjigang in teaching and learning can be done by determining a role model, material development, and the development of teaching methods.

Abstract

 Personal figure of character was not only smartphone born inward, but also has the power to execute something is right. Efforts need to implementation of character education. Character education has higher meaning than the moral education and has electrostatic formation of morals. Preschool-age children can be already given the character education by enabling the empathy toward children who already exists, which is part of conscience. In relation to the education characters need to be delicately six character value contains about the following materials: (1) teach the love of God and all His creation, (2) independence, (3) honest, (4) responsibility, (5) tolerance, (6) cooperating, etc. and that they are all the elements in the good character (akhlaqul karimah).

Abstract

Professional teachers are required to always evolve according to the demands of dynamic change. In the perspective of Islamic education, teachers get high appreciation of the position one level below from the position of the Prophet. The Islamic appreciation of the learned men is illustrated in the hadith as quoted by Ahmad Tafsir (in Hasbullah, 1999: 193), namely: "Ulama's ink is more precious than the blood of the martyrs". The development of soft skill to improve the professional competence of teachers can be done through coaching programs such as upgrading, training/workshops, seminars or scientific meetings, e-learning, or formal activities in accordance with the needs of teachers. The development and fostering of professional competence of the teacher needs to be done continuously and comprehensively, so that will give birth to a comprehensive professional teacher as well.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to know the strategy of improving the quality of Islamic Religious Education teacher candidate in STAIN Kudus. The research method used is qualitative research method. This research used observation, interview and documentation for the data collection tools and analyzed by using interactive analysis. The result of the research shows that the strategy of improving the quality of Islamic Religious Education teachers in STAIN is divided into several strengthenings, namely strengthening of Islam, strengthening the field of PAI study, as well as the strengthening of foreign languages (English and Arabic), both through intra-curricular or co-curricular. Changes in the world of work in educational institutions should be prepared by universities preparing educators and other education personnel so that a student must be trained and trained to have the competencies described in three levels; perform, manage, and evaluate the process.
