Abstract

Abstract: The goal of this research is to analyze the fundamental variables in which influinfluence price earning ratio of automotive and allied companies which are listed in Indonesia Stock Exchange. These variables are return on equity, debt equity ratio, earning per share, dividend payout ratio, price to book value and earning growth. The data collection is using sampling technique, there is saturated sampling or sample census. The result shows that there are six companies along 2007 to 2011. The analysis technique uses multiple linear regression in order to check the influence of independent variable on dependent variable. The result shows that the variable of return on equity is giving negative sign significant to the price earning ratio. Next, price to book value variable influences positively and signifisignificant to the price earning ratio. Coefficient determinant which is achieved is 0,536, which means that the prediction power of regression model is 53,6%. Keywords: return on equity, debt equity ratio, earning per share, dividend payout ratio, price to book value, earning growth, price earning ratio

Abstract

Abstract: The Development of the agricultural sector in the South Tangerang City faces severe challenges related to the lack of resources, especially land. Urban agriculture has an important role in addressing various problems in which faced by the city. This research aimed to formulate alternative strategies of urban agricultural development in South Tangerang City. The vision and mission are formulated based on content analysis of stakeholder expectations and industry foresight, while the strategy formulation using IE matrix and use the balanced scorecard framework. Expected condition of urban agriculture development is the increased revenue of the city welfare (economic perspective). South Tangerang city government positions in developing urban agriculture located on the cell V. The best strategy is to continue to run a variety of programs and activities that have been imple mented. Abstract

Abstract: This research views that marketing activity level of Small Business Enterprise (SMEs) in Bengkulu. SMEs plays an important role in the development of the economy due to small businesses are provide of employment and create new jobs. The researcher tries to analyze marketing activity by examining the level of marketing from Carson’s model. Based on this model, it will be answering the impact of business size and length of activity in small Medium Enterprise (SMEs). By using Carson’s model will show the identification of activity and marketing level in SMEs. The activity consist of market knowledge, competitors, customers, marketing informations, significant events, competitive advantage prices, promotion, significant event prices, after sales services, product, distributions, positioning, and specific competitors. Due to the time and cost obstacle, this research only examines twenty SMEs of Batik Besurek in Bengkulu-Bengkulu Province. Abstract

Abstract: This study uses quantitative approach in which focus on explanatory survey method. The population is chiefs of Sulawesi Utara Province and UPTD, they are top manager, middle manager, and top manager as persons who have responsibility and finance manager. The sample is taken using multistage sampling. Based on the consideration, therefore the sample includes 273 chiefs, in which the sample is taken from random sampling. The data collection is using questionnaire and using Likert model scale. The analysis technique that is used in order to analyze the relationship between each factor is the analysis of statistic inferential, in which focus on the econometric equation model with multiple regression. The result of the study shows that: 1) Finance information system has directly influence but does not have significance toward region finance performance. (2) The participation in making a budget plan has directly influence and significant toward region finance performance. ThereTherefore, the participation in making a budget plan gives a directly significant role towards region finance performance on SKPD at Sulawesi Utara Province. (3) Apparatus’s attitude and behavior has negative influence on region finance performance, even though it does not have significance towards region finance performance. The conclusion is that finance inforinformation system in region does not give directly and strongly role towards region finance performance on SKPD at Sulawesi Utara Province.Keywords: financial information system, budget participation, attitudes and behavior appaapparatus, regional financial performance

Abstract

Abstract: The aims of this study are to examine the theoretical basis and provide a complete picture on the profitability of the Bank through Economic Value Added (EVA). The method used in this study was the study of literature or theoretical studies. The results of this study concluded that (1) Economic Value Added is a measure of financial performance that are relevant due to the measurement based on value added, EVA is a measure of economic value added that is generated by the company as a result of management activities. (2) With the EVA, the owner of the bank is only going to give a reward (reward) on activities that add value and discard the activities in which destroy or reduce the overall value of a bank. (3) Value-added activities that can be separated from non-value added activities are based on the value added assessment. (4) EVA helps the management to set goals in terms of the internal (internal goal setting) so that the destination of bank is based on the long-term implications, not just short term. (5) In the case of EVA investment, it provides a guidance for a project acceptance decision (capital budgeting decision), and in terms of evaluating routine performance (performance assessment) management, EVA helps to achieve value added activities. (6) EVA helps to provide investigation system or provide right incentives (incentive compensation), where the management are encouraged to act as an owner. Keywords: management, profitability, economic value added, and bank

Abstract

Abstract: The purpose of this study is to know the effect of ISO 9001:2008 implementation in Higher Education performance that is measured by Balanced Scorecard. The primary data were obtained by distributing questionnaires to the respondents who are lecturers and staffs in UB. The independent variable in this study is the implementation of ISO 9001:2008 principles while the dependent variable is the performance of the University from a financial perspective, customer perspective, internal business, and learning and growth perspective. In order to determine the effect of independent variable and dependent variable, path analysis method is used. The results of data processing show a positive influence on the application of ISO QMS university performance based on a financial perspective, customer perspective, internal business, and learning and growth perspective. From these results, the author suggests that other agencies apply the principles of ISO 9001:2008 in their organization in order to improve the performance. Keywords: the principles of ISO 9001:2008 QMS, balanced scorecard, path analysis

Abstract

Abstract: The problems of this research are, (1) Do human resource, organization resource and strategy have significance influence towards restaurant performance in Malang? (2) Does human resource have dominant influence to performance? (3) Do age and size have a relationship with human resource, human resource performance and organization resource which is different due to age category as well as size (employee quantity) to restaurant in Malang city? Thus, the aims this research are divided into 4, there are (1) testing and analyzing the influence of human resource, organization resource and strategy to the restaurant performance in Malang, (2) testing and analyzing how much organization resource and strategic has influence towards restaurants in Malang? (3) testing and analyzing the relationship between age and the size of restaurants with human resource, organization resource and restaurant performance in Malang, (4) testing and analyzing the difference of organization performance based on age and the size of restaurants in Malang. The sample of the Research is restaurants in Malang. Survey result is gained from interview and questionnaire on 35 restaurants in Malang. The data analysis that was used in order to answer the research problem is multiple regression and MANOVA. The results of the research are, first, human resource, organization resource and strategy have influence toward restaurant performance in Malang. Second, human resource is the most dominant variable that have influence on performance. Third, the category of age and size has a relationship between human resource, organization resource and restaurant performance in Malang. Abstract

Abstract: The aims of this study are identifying and assessing the company resources and the capabilities of the company in which potential to produce a sustainable competitive advantage through resources based view analysis. Besides, it produces the alternative strategies in order to exploiting the resources and capabilities to create a competitive advantage for the company. This research is using qualitative case study method in order to explore and capture the phenomenon on the unit of analysis. The result shows that the company has 22 types of resources and 24 types of capabilities on the value chain activities of companies that have potential as a competitive advantage. The analysis uses the VRIO framework and it gives the results that the company only has a few resources and capabilities that can produces a temporary competitive advantage. Companies can achieve a sustainable competitive advantage by creating the formulation strategy through utilizing and exploiting the resources and capabilities of the companies. Keywords: resources based view, value chain, VRIO framework, formulation strategy

Abstract

Abstract: This study aimed to analyze the market segmentation of goat milk in the region of Bogor, as well as examine consumer characteristics and beneficial aspects that affecting consumer’s interest in consuming goat milk in order to make as the basis data in formulating the marketing strategies of goat’s milk. This study started to conduct in December 2009 and ends in March 2010 in Bogor and its surrounding areas. The subjects of this study are dairy goat breeders, agents and retailers of goat’s milk, and individuals goat milk consumers. Data analysis was performed by descriptive analysis, Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) and cluster analysis. The results of this study shows that consumers’purchasing interest is directly affected by the social and psychological factors of consumer, and does not influenced by personal factors and consumer subculture. Consumer factually purchasing is directly affected by the personal factors (education level and occupation) and consumer purchase interest; indirectly affected by social and psychological factors, but does not influenced by subcultural factors of the consumer. Consumer market segmentation based on the terms of the benefits of goat milk products expected, are consumers who care about the health, productive consumer which age of 21 to 60 years, relatively high educated and working as private employees, state employees and civil servants as well as derived from the Javanese and Sundanese. Goat milk consumers in the area of Bogor are not dominated by Arabs and Chinese ethnic groups, but mainly from the Sundanese and Javanese. The improvement of the image of goat’s milk as a health drink can be done by promoting throughadvertising, distribution, and improving customer service. Keywords: consumer behavior, relationships between factors, goat milk purchasing behavior

Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to determine the effect of hospital service quality on satisfaction and trust of the patients. Data were collected using questionnaires. Questionnaires were given to patients in the hospitalization unit of RSBK. The sample of this study is 121 people. Data were analyzed by Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) with SPSS AMOS software. The study shows that service quality has a direct and indirect effect on patients’ trust. Service quality has indirect effects on patient’s trust through patient satisfaction as interviening variable. There is a significant direct effect of service quality on patients’ satisfaction, but there is no significant indirect effect of service quality on patients’satisfaction through patients’ trust. Keywords: trust, satisfaction, quality of service
