Abstract

The aim of this study were determine the susceptibility status of Aedes sp. to malathion insecticide, the elevated to non-specific esterase enzyme activity of Aedes sp, the differences susceptibility status in the Port Health Office working area of Sam Ratulangi Airports Manado. The sample of Aedes sp. eggs was collected from four village in the Port Health Office Working Area of Sam Ratulangi Airport Manado. The research method used was biochemical assay for elevated non-specific esterase enzyme activity and susceptibility testing using the impregnated paper (malathion 0.8%) WHO standard.The results showed the elevated of non-specific esterase enzyme that hydrolyzes the substrate α-naphthyl acetate Aedes sp. in four village In the Port Health Office Working Area of Sam Ratulangi Airport Manado. The percentage of Ae. aegypti resistant to each village is Mapanget Barat 96.7%; Wusa 83.3%; Winetin 73.3%; Lapangan 63.3%. The percentage of Ae.albopictus resistant to each village is Wusa 100%; Mapanget Barat 93.4%; Lapangan 73.3%, Winetin 66.7%. Susceptibility test with WHO standard to Ae.aegypti showing are resistance to malathion with the percentage of death each village 0% (resistant 100%). There are significant differences susceptibility status from the resulting of biochemical test of Aedes sp. in the fourth village.

Abstract

Danger posed by the use of Lead (Pb) is the most frequent cause poisoning caused by environmental pollutan or air, especially in big cities. The purpose of this study is desktiptive is to provide an overview of the content of Lead (Pb) contained in urine hawkers. The data was collected by direct observation in the field by using a questionnaire that is then followed by laboratory examination. The population of hawkers is around Jumbo Supermarket Manado, sampling as many as 15 samples taken by purposive sampling. Threshold values for the content Lead (Pb) in urine of 150 μg/ml creatinine. The result contain Lead (Pb) in urine hawkers around Jumbo Supermarket Manado still under the Treshold Value is <10 μg/L creatinine, when compared objective criteria of 150 μg/ml creatinine. Can be concluded that the result are still below the specified Treshold Value. Suggest for relevant agencies such as the Environment Agency to condact surveillance on a regular basis with efforts to redunce the amount of air pollution, especially of Lead (Pb).

Abstract

Hospital waste water is one source of potential environmental pollutant because it is necessary the management of waste water before it is disposed in to public channels. This study is a descriptive analytic study, in which the writer wanted to describe how the quality of liquid waste in the RSU Liun Kendage Tahuna, in particular the parameters BOD, COD, TSS and pH through laboratory tests. The results of this study indicate that the average BOD eligible (28.6 mg /l) is smaller than the raw waste water quality for hospital activities that have been assigned to 30 mg / l, the average COD is not eligible (83.8 mg /l) exceeding effluent quality standard of 80 mg / l, mean TSS is not eligible (31.3 mg /l) exceeds the effluent quality standard of 30 mg /l and pH of the eligible 6.6 to 7.8 with a value the average pH = 7.1. The qualit of waste water effluent discharged IPLC on the urban public channel after processing qualify with levels of BOD value = 7 mg / l, COD = 25 mg / l, TSS = 11 mg / l and pH = 6.8. To further improve the quality of effluent RSU Liun Kendage Tahuna, the need for repair of damaged pipelines, periodic monitoring and better management of IPLC.

Abstract

Tableware hygiene is poor have an important role in the growth of the spread of germs and poisoning. For that food equipment must be kept clean, in order to avoid contamination of pathogenic bacteria Escherichia coli is one of them as well as other contaminants. The purpose of this study was to determine the number of bacteria and Escherichia coli in the tableware used by Jombang Restorant Tikala Manado. The method used in this research is descriptive by laboratory analysis to determine the numbers and Escherichia coli bacteria on utensils used by Jombang Restorant Tikala Manado. The results showed that the results of laboratory examination of samples of tableware used by Jombang Restorant Tikala Manado, do not meet health requirements in accordance with RI Permenkes No.1098/Menkes/SK/VII/2003 on Hygiene Sanitation Requirements Restaurant. Of the 16 samples examined laboratory utensils all Not Eligible. Based on these results in the seller's expected to further improve food hygiene / sanitation, food hygiene, especially in the washing process of tableware and cutlery storage small so the likelihood of contamination in foods.

Abstract

Sanitation ship is all the effort devoted to environmental factors within the vessel to break the disease transmission chain in order to enhance the degree of health. This type of research that is included in the descriptive study with the aim to describe the condition of Motor Vessel Sanitation Facilities of KM Maria Express. Methods of data collection using forms with direct observation and examination of the results of laboratory tests. Laboratory findings show that processed foods in jasaboga no E. coli bacteria, but food prepared in KM. Queen Mary E. Coli are bacteria, and samples of tap water main and storage tank on the ship contained Coliform bacteria. Port Health Office Manado need to improve routine surveillance of the vessel sanitation.

Abstract

One method of controlling the Aedes sp without insecticides is the use of egg traps (Ovitrap). The purpose of this study to determine the effectiveness of the use of water soaking the dried leaves and egg yolk to the number of trapped mosquitoes Aedes sp. This type of research uses quasi-experiment. The subjects in this research that all the eggs of mosquitoes are found in this study ovitrap while the unit is a group of houses / buildings that occupy a certain area. Research sites is Perkamil District of Tikala Manado City as much as 8 houses, with replicates performed on each treatment was 3 times the replications. While the number of treatments is 3. So the number of objects that do research are 8 houses with 24 and 24 treatments in the treatment outside the home. Based on the results of the study the number of eggs of Aedes sp, amounting to 3216 grain 2289 grain yield of dried leaves (71%), water containing egg yolk amounted to 820 grains (26%), aquades 107 grains (3%). Based on the location of installation, which is placed outside the home ovitrap 2296 grain yield (71%), in the house of 920 points (29%). It can be concluded that the leaves dry more effectively with the number of eggs of Aedes sp trapped more than water that contains egg yolks and aquades. As a suggestion of water soaking the dried leaves can be disseminated to the public to always pay attention to the environment around the home of the bin of water, especially water that submerged the leaves dry.

Abstract

Water is a chemical compound that is essential for the life of mankind and other living being sand their function as life will not be replaced by other compounds. Filtration is a process of water treatment by means of raw water flowing through a filter with media from granular materials with a certain grain diameter and arranged with a certain thickness. This type of research is experimental, with the aim to determine whether there is decreased levels of Febyrice huskcharcoal filtration at the water wells drilled in Environmental Health Dormitory Manado. Filtration arrangement made with gravel, palm fiber and rice huskcharcoal. Data obtained from the research results processed by using statistical test student "t" test. The conclusion that the pilot rice husk charcoal as media filtration to reduce levels of iron in well water drill that most effectively reduce levels of Fe as follows : 0.0085 mg/l (first sample) and 0, 0001mg/l (second sample). Filtration mediausing rice huskcharcoal presumably to the public to be reducing levels of Fe.

Abstract

This study aims to determine how much the state entomologist in this case the density of vectors of dengue (Aedes sp. larvae) Perkamil In the village of Manado City. This type of research is observational (survey). Data were collected in January 2011 by using a single method in each larva 15 houses located at the site of dengue fever cases in Perkamil Village in 2010. Each location in the buffer DBD with a radius of 100 meters from the homes of cases and selected 15 homes to be sampled.Implementation of the survey using the larval form of detention entomology equipment, pipettes, flashlight and GPS. From each sample point coordinates taken home and then checked kebrdaan larvae in each container that contains water inside and outside the home. On each container that was found larval tail of larvae taken by detention or using a pipette using mouth if the container is small, after the larvae entered into the bottle labeledand check the type of species by using light microscopy. Research shows the magnitude of House Index (HI) 48.61%, larva-free rate (ABJ) 51.39), Container Index (CI) 23.33% and Breteau Index (BI) 107.8. From the number of positive containers larvae, bath / WC is the type most often found in larvae of container from 29.64%.

Abstract

Karbon Monoksida (CO) adalah suatu gas yang tak berwarna, tidak berbau dan juga tidak berasa,diproduksi dari pembakaran bahan bakar fosil yang tidak sempurna, seperti bensin, minyak dan kayu bakar juga terbentuk secara alamiah berasal letusan gunung berapi, proses biologi dan lain-lain. Alat transportasi berupa kendaraan bermotor , 60 persen polutannya terdiri karbon monoksida, 15 persen hidrokarbon dan sisanya pembakaran, proses industri dan pembuangan limbah, sehingga suatu kota yang padat lalu lintasnya akan banyak menghasilkan gas CO. Kadar pencemaran dipengaruhi antara lain tofografi, kependudukan, iklim, cuaca, kecepatan angin serta tingkat perkembangan sosio ekonomi.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kandungan Karbon Monoksida di sekitar Tugu Zero Point Kota Manado, bersifat deskriptif, diukur pada 3(tiga) titik :- pusat Zero Point,- Radius 50m ,- Radius 100 meter. Pengukuran dilakukan selama 3 hari (pagi, siang, dan malam) dengan menggunakan alat multi gas monitor “Odalog 7000 “Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa konsentrasi CO tertinggi di titik radius 50 m sebesar 16.737 μg/Nm3 per jam, masih dibawah standar Baku Mutu Udara Ambient Nasional Peraturan Pemerintah RI No 41 Tahun 1999 yaitu 30.000 μg/Nm3 per jam.Pemerintah Kota Manado diharapkan melakukan pengawasan dan pengendalian polutan CO di Sekitar Tugu Zero Point Kota Manado.

Abstract

Sumaru Endo pool is a pool located in the Village District Remboken Minahasa regency. The purpose of this study is to determine the pHysical, chemical, and microbiological water swimming pool in the village of Sumaru Endo Remboken Minahasa District. This research is a descriptive study, in which researchers want to describe their pHysical, chemical and microbiological condition of the pool water at the pool in the village Remboken Sumaru Endo. Research variables, namely the pHysical condition of water, chemical and microbiological water pool Sumaru Endo, which focused on turbidity, acidity (pH), residual chlorine, Total coliform bacteria and Figures. The population is the pool water Sumaru Endo and a sample of the water pool is determined by purposive sampling. There are two categories of research instrument research instrument is an instrument of research in the field and laboratory research instruments. The results on several parameters, namely the pHysical conditions (turbidity), chemical conditions (Chlor), microbiological conditions (Total coliform) and the rate of water germs swimming pool Sumaru Endo ineligible, chemical parameters (pH) of thewater pool Sumaru Endo suitably qualified in accordance with the requirements stated in the Permenkes RI No. 416/1990. Presumably the manager of the attraction Sumaru Endo can find information about the management and pool equipment in order to improve the quality of the pool water so that it meets the requirements for use as well as pay attention to the factors that affect water quality such as quality pool cleaning pools, pool water disinfectant dose right , protect water sources from a variety of pond pollution.
