Abstract

Leptospira was classified into three groups, namely pathogenic, intermediate, and saprophytic. Pathogenic Leptospira caused human and animal Leptospirosis, Leptospira intermediate recently found in human but not reproduce disease, meanwhile Leptopsira from the saprophytic group is an environmental species and considered not to caused disease. This study aims to do a systematic review of the diversity of Leptospira species from environmental samples in Asia. Based on this review, Leptospira from all groups were identified from environmental samples in Asia. Dominant pathogenic Leptopsira is L. kmetyi, Leptospira intermediate is L. wolffii Anda the dominant Leptospira from saprophytic group is L. meyeri. For further Leptospira, a detection study is recommended to classify Leptospira base on four subclades, namely P1, P2, S1 and S2. Knowing the classification of Leptospira from environmental samples will be able to provide information about where and how the transmission of Leptospirosis occurs.

Abstract

Noise is one of the factors that can affect worker productivity. High noise intensity in the workplace can affect blood pressure. Every workplace always contains various hazard factors that can affect the health of workers. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between noise levels and blood pressure in workers at PT. Pertamina RU II. This research is an analytic study using a study design. The population sampled in this study is 130 people. The results showed that the noise intensity in the refinery area exceeded the NAB by 87 dbA, and in the office by 30-40 dbA. The workers' systolic blood pressure increased by 75%, diastolic blood pressure increased by 70%, and pulse rate increased by 89%. . The results of blood pressure in the study in two groups, namely exposed and unexposed, there was no significant difference between systolic and diastolic pressure in the exposed and unexposed groups of noise, but there was a significant difference between the difference in pulse rates in the exposed and unexposed groups. noise in the refinery area of PT. Pertamina RU II Dumai

Abstract

The number of deaths due to diarrhea caused by climate change is approximately 0.2%, and 85% of deaths among them are children. This research purposed to determine the relationship of climate with the incidence of diarrhea cases based on topography areas in two districts of West Sumatra from 2010-2014. This research used the ecological study design based on the time. Population and sample in this research was the incidence of diarrhea monthly data were recorded at the District Health Department for the years 2010-2014 (total sampling). Data sources using secondary data from District Health Department and Meteorological and Geophysics Station. The result showed that the average incidence rate of diarrhea during 2010-2014 in Pesisir Selatan and Agam District is 2,53/1000 population and 2.30/1000 population, temperature 27,73ºC and 22,18ºC, rainfall 233.71 mm and 234.21 mm, humidity 74.17% and 86,14%, and wind velocity 3.64 knots and 0,99 knots. Results of climate analysis and the incidence of diarrhea showed an insignificant relationship, in Pesisir Selatan and Agam District, so preventive activities such as improving community-based total sanitation (STBM) were still the right efforts to be carried out by the Pesisir Selatan District and Agam District Health Offices.

Abstract

WHO declares COVID-19 as a global pandemic on March 11th, 2020. Indonesia has confirmed the first case for COVID-19 is on March 2nd, 2020. That case happens in Depok City. Then Jawa Timur Province already confirms for the COVID-19 case is on March 17th, 2020. In particular, there are six persons that have been confirmed to be Surabaya citizens. Infection of COVID-19 is caused by SARS-Cov-2 which has an ability for human-to-human transmission. The aim of this study is to capture the relation between air temperature with confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Surabaya City, 2020. The data provider for this study is the Board of Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics (BMKG) Perak I Surabaya, and the Surabaya Health Office. The research design of this study is an ecological study-time series analysis from March to November 2020. This study found that negative correlation between air temperature with confirmed cases of COVID-19. The strength of correlation was 0,305. The direction of that correlation is negative, which means the increasing air temperature so the case confirmation of COVID-19 is decreasing. Surabaya Health Office can do a massive briefing to Surabaya citizens to stand under the sun rays in the morning.

Abstract

Infection Soil Transmitted Helminths (STH) is an infection that is caused by a nematode gut that the transmission requires medium soil. Factors that support the transmission of soil-transmitted helminthes worm eggs in Indonesia are hygiene and poor living habits. This study aims to identify the presence or absence of intestinal parasitic infection which is caused by the egg Soil Transmitted Helminths (STH) and to determine the relationship existence of Soil Transmitted Helminths (STH) with PHBS in children who live around the area Points Disposal Final (TPA) Waste Sumompo. Type of research this is an analytic that is performed on 30 samples were determined by purposive sampling. The collection of data obtained from the results of filling the questionnaire and examination of samples in laboratory. Examination of the samples is done using the method of native (eosin 2%) and the concentration of flotation. Data analysis used the chi square test to see the relationship between helminth infections and PHBS, with a significance value of α= 0.05. Results of the study show the presence of infection Trichuris trichiura on children who live in the surrounding area Points Disposal Final Sumompo as many as three (10%). Results Analysis chi square to see the relationship of infection of worms with Behavioral Living Clean and Healthy (PHBS) showed no relationship that significant between infection of worms with the habit of playing on the ground without the use of footwear, custom cutting the nails, washing hands before eating, wash hands after Discard Air Besar, the habit of biting nails, and the availability of latrines at home.

Abstract

The action of heavy metals in inhibiting enzymes occurs due to interactions between proteins or enzymes that bind to sulfide groups such as disulfide (-S-S) and sulfhydryl (-SH) in enzymes. The sulfide group is able to bind heavy metals that enter the body and are bound in the blood, because heavy metals have a high affinity for sulfide groups. The bond becomes strong and stable, resulting in increased levels of chromium, cadmium and nickel in the body. This Literature Review study aims to determine the accumulation and dangers caused by exposure to heavy metals chromium (Cr), cadmium (Cd) and Nickel (Ni) in the human body. The literature review research method uses existing research journals in the Google Scholar and PubMed databases with PRISMA Flow guidelines, obtained 10 reference journals for information. The results of the review show that the dangers of exposure to heavy metals chromium (Cr), cadmium (Cd) and nickel (Ni) in the human body can cause toxic effects to the body including kidney failure, lung function, respiratory disorders, skin and cancer.

Abstract

A traditional market is a form of public activity that should concern to the health aspect of environmental sanitation. That is an important thing to be applied in public places, including the market. There are still many environmental sanitation problems found in the market, one of which is the problem of poor sanitation facilities. This study aims to analyze the Implementation of Environmental Hygiene and Sanitation at the Kemiri Muka Market in Depok City in accordance with the Minister of Health Regulation No. 17 of 2020 concerning Healthy Markets. The research is descriptive and qualitative with data collection techniques in the form of in-depth interviews, observations, and assessment sheets. Informants in this study amounted to 14 people who were determined using the purposive sampling technique. The results showed that the facilities infrastrucutre and environmental sanitation did not meet the requirements because they only got the yes category as many as 53 points. Moreover, repairing or adding facilities and infrastructure and environmental sanitation is needed for environmental health in order to improve the degree of human health. This research is expected to produce research products in the form of scientific articles that will be published in indexed journal
