Abstract

This study aims to identify patterns of movement in Pringsewu District and analyzing the handling needs of the road network in the Pringsewu District in 2014, 2019, 2024 and 2039 based on VC ratio through 4 stages of transportation modeling using tranplan software. To support this analy- sis, also conducted research about level of service in Pringsewu District based on public percep- tion as road users. The primary data was obtained through a survey of LHR and road user per- ception survey conducted through questionnaires. Secondary obtained through relevant institu- tions. The result of analysis is a pattern of movement in 2014, 2019, 2024 and 2039 is almost the same. For 2024 year, road handling by building the North Ring Road considered to necessary be - cause VC Ratio of some streets ≥ 0.9. Road handling in 2039 by increased capacity through widening of the road. Based on the user's perception, level of road service in Pringsewu District is good enough. Level of road sservice in the Pringsewu District highly influenced by accessibility, mobility, safety and road conditions.

Abstract

Land use changing in Way Ketibung Irrigation Area from rice field cropping to rubber and palm oil planting were one of causes to decline rice field production at its irrigation area. The changing of land use were caused by lack of water availability . Therefore, it is necessary efforts to optimize irrigation area in order to increase rice production. Based on cropping schedule which used by Way Ketibung Irrigation Area the farmer had define cropping season, rainy cropping season (rendeng, MT I) and dry cropping season (gadu, MT II). The 1 st class of rainy cropping season was started on 1 st week of September and on 1 st week of Jan- uary to the 1 st class of dry cropping season. Whereas, the 2 nd class of rainy season began on 2 nd week of September and on 2 nd week of January to the 2 nd class of dry season. Cropping pattern which based on its cropping schedule that the farmers have done was not suitable, because only a few one could apply the schedule to crop rice field. It is due to the water availability could not serve the amount of water to its cropping pattern. Field observation and hydrologic analysis using suitable approach methods produced the opti- mized cropping pattern that approximated by reliable discharge has 80 % probability in occurs (Q 80 ) and Net Farm Requirement (NFR). The optimized cropping pattern of Way Ketibung Irriga- tion Area defines the cropping season. The 1 st class of rainy cropping season begins on 2 nd Decem- ber and 2 nd April to 1 st class of dry cropping season. Whereas, The 2 nd class of rainy cropping sea- son begins on 1 st January and 1 st May to 2 st class of dry cropping season. Water balance analysis describe surplus and deficit of water, therefore could be generated cropping pattern rotation as; The rainy cropping season (MT I) : 1 st class begin on 2 nd week of December with 821 hectares (100 %), 2 nd class begin on 1 st week of January with 612 hectares (100 %). The dry cropping season (MT II) : 1 st class begin on 2 nd week of April with 50 % of 821 hectares, 2 nd class begin on 1 st week of May with 50 % of 612 hectares.

Abstract

This research aim to identify and analyze the sectors that are the basis of each district for the de- velopment of the Subdistrict. Determining and describing the potential competitive sector of each sub has the greatest potential to contribute to the economic development of Newburn and condi- tions of the road network that will support the regional development of Fortuna. Of each District in Newburn shows the different basis, mainly due to the Subdistrict area devel - oped into the urban industrial sector emerged as the basis in some districts. The road network is not well with the condition and do not meet the standard of the existing road. With the develop- ment of the Subdistrict for Trade and Services are necessary to be an increase in the road, espe- cially the relationship between the center - a center of the preferred road network of collectors.

Abstract

Debris flow generally occurs in rivers in mountainous areas. This flows is a very dangerous and destructive. This happens because the debris flow has a high speed and carry a mixture of sediment and other materials. Of infrastructure is built on rivers area flow pattern makes the need for special handling to maintain the protected structure with a substantial investment. This study focuses on the modeling and observation influence debris flow on bridge piers with three (3) conditions: unprotected bridge piers, using gabion protection, and bored pile protection on the model. By using a discharge of 1.54 liters/sec on a scale model of the maximum scours depth is obtained that occurred on bridge piers unprotected condition, that is equal to 1.7 cm and the minimum scours occurs in conditions of safety piers the bored pile is equal to 1.48 cm. The maximum scours volume occurs in the downstream bridge using gabion protected, amounting to 400 cm 2 , while the minimum volume of sediment scours occurs by using a safety bored pile 257.5 cm 3 . By the using protected piers bored pile more effective to resist scours due to debris flows. This is due to the construction of bored pile does not impede the flows that occurs so that the effect scours will reach a point of equilibrium.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to stimulate the network trip assignment as the result of car free night by applying management and traffic engineering as the solution. The purpose is also to calculate the car free night impact over the road network level of service at Enggal Region Bandar Lam - pung, considered from the traffic flow and Degree of Saturation (V/C Ratio) value. From this re- search and analysis, found that car free night didn’t provide the significant impact to traffic per- formance at Enggal Region, this is shown by the calculation of all road network level of service in the study area which are all of the V/C Ratio values below 0,75. This calculation means the han - dling scenarios of management and traffic engineering become unnecessary. Whereas for 20% validation between traffic performance comparison during manual calculation (MKJI) and simu- lation (Tranplan) at Enggal Region, the result shows only performance of Jl. Majapahit had 240,40% difference in traffic flow. This is caused by the differences in perception between two condition which are intangible.

Abstract

To meet the demand for electricity in rural areas far from the power grid, the local energy poten- tial can be harnessed to generate electricity. Local energy source potential of which is hy - dropower which can be used for micro- hydro power plants (MHP). Technology of micro hydro power plant is the most mature technology to be developed in rural areas beyond the reach of the electricity grid. Source of electrical energy with micro hydro including clean and environmentally friendly. Diversity micro hydro technology enables integrated with the existing network and can be distributed to remote areas and can be used commercially on a small scale in order to encour- age development activities that can improve the lives of rural communities. From the analysis of regionalization method can be used to estimate the discharge Way Semaka and Batang Ireng, because of data limitations hydrology and hydraulics in both basins. This is ev- idenced by the amount of discharge is calculated by the method of regionalization is not much dif - ferent from the magnitude of the discharge measured in the field. Rational discharge calculation method can not be used because the resulting value is too large discharge, and far different from the discharge measured in the field. Similarly, the calculation of the discharge hydrograph method Measured Unit (HST), where phi index gained greater than the intensity of the rain, so this method can not be used. Discharge calculation method that can be used is the method of FDC (Flow Duration Curve), because the discharge calculation results using this method the measured value is approaching discharge in the field. Q80 % with FDC method (Flow Duration Curve) to Way Semaka River at 15.34 (m3/sec), while the measured discharge 21.75(m3/sec). For Batang River Ireng magnitude Q80 % with FDC method (Flow Duration Curve) of 0.069 (m3/sec), and the discharge measured at 0.063 (m3/sec). From the calculation of the electric power in Batang Ireng, obtained power with an efficiency of 60 % amounting to 3.246 kW, while the electric power with an efficiency of 80 % amounting to 4.328 kW. Therefore Batang Ireng River potential to be micro hydro power plants (MHP).

Abstract

The deformation of wave is the change of wave characteristics that occurs when a wave propa- gates shoreward. One form of the deformation of wave is diffracted wave. Wave diffraction occurs when a wave is blocked by a barrier which is a breakwater or an island. As a result, the wave will turn around the tip of the barrier and heading into a sheltered area behind it. In this event, the en - ergy transfer occurs in the perpendicular direction to the protected area. The phenomenon of wave diffraction is an important thing to consider in the harbor and breakwater design. To deter- mine the wave diffraction pattern caused by obstacles or coastal structures, wave propagation simulation has been carried out with mathematical or numerical models for several scenarios. In this study, two-dimensional wave simulation software using hyperbolic equations has been used to model wave propagation. The result obtained from this study is the diffraction coefficient whose value which is approximately equal to the ones suggested by the Shore Protection Manual (SPM, 1984). Changes in the pattern of the wave occur after the wave propagates through a single or double breakwater. This study also investigated the changes in the wave height and the amount of dominant wave period due to the influence of the breakwater. Both events indicate the occurence of phenomenon of diffraction.
