ARABIYAT
Jurnal Arabiyat terbit 2 kali dalam satu tahun (Juni dan Desember) sebagai salah satu wadah pengembangan ilmu pendidikan bahasa Arab yang dinamis dan aktual. Jurnal ini menyajikan artikel berbahasa Arab, Indonesia, dan Inggris fokus pada perkembangan bahasa Arab di dunia pendidikan yang merupakan hasil penelitian atau kajian teoritis yang berkaitan dengan literatur kebahasaaraban, peradaban bahasa Arab, lembaga pendidikan bahasa Arab, kurikulum, dan metode pembelajaran dan lainnya merupakan tema-tema yang tersaji di jurnal ini. To apply these principles in the different educational stages, Arabic Language Engineering emerged at the forefront of other technologies due to the educational outputs obtained from learners, especially Arabic non-native speakers, and educational institutions. It could thus be a broad aspect to be learnt through this automated program, e.g., Arabic language machines and skills, characteristics and repertoire.]]>

<![CDATA[The success of students in the class depended on the expertise of teachers in teaching and learning strategies which were influential in boosting students’ learning interest and motivation. This research aimed to understand the weakness of the application of their strategy and analyze any constraints at the time of the application as well as the values the students suggested after the application of the strategy. The research was a classroom action research which covered planning, implementing, observing, and reflecting. After implementing the strategy, the researchers gained the values of students rose in every cycle.]]>

<![CDATA[This article described that textbooks used in higher education as a part of the standards of learning material. The learning material did not meet the national standards of higher education if universities did not have a learning material in the form of textbook. One important aspect in writing a textbook was its compliance with grammar. This article attempted to analyze the syntactic errors contained in the textbook, al-Mahir al-Istima fi Tatbiq wa al-Kalam, published by Center of Language Development at IAIN Surakarta. The forms of syntactic errors and the correction of the errors were the focuses of this research. This study used the error analysis. The research found that a syntactic error found in the reading passages were eight forms of errors in isim isyarah (the most one), na‘at-man‘ut, fa‘il, isim maushul, jawab syarat, khabar, ‘athaf-ma‘thuf, and na’ib al-fa‘il. Lastly, this textbook was therefore recommended to be revised.]]>

<![CDATA[This contemporary age faced large technical revolutions which have huge effects on all life areas. These technical revolutions cause dramatic changes in human natures particularly in terms of consumptions and communication. Therefore, the literature and its branches could not be separated from these technical age influences as the literature interacted with these evolutionary products and employed this age resources. Therefore, the focus of this study was the perception of poetical tweets on a Twitter account belonged to a poet namely Mohammed Almoqren. The steps of this study covered interjection, rerouting, written interaction, contradiction, visual shaping, dynamic shaping, summary and conclusion.]]>

<![CDATA[This research discussed the ideas of Amin al-Khuli in the teaching of Arabic literature or Balaghah. The name Amin al-Khuli is popular as the reformer of Balaghah. This research was a qualitative research. This research used two books of Amin al-Khuli, i.e., Manahij Tajdid and Fannul Qaul. The result of this research concluded that Amin al-Khuli emphasized two important goals of teaching Balaghah, i.e., the practical and artistic goals. He did not consider the importance of religious goals of Balaghah to understand the Qur’an. In terms of contents, he denied the classification of Balaghah into Ma’ani, Bayan, and Badi’; instead, he changed it into kalimat (words), jumal (sentences), fiqrah (paragraph), and shuwar ta’biriyyah (kinds of expressions). The research emphasized the importance of conducting further research to create a better textbook of Balaghah based on Amin Khuli’s ideas.]]>

<![CDATA[The article aimed to study the phenomenon of overlapping literary genres in the Arabic literary works by identifying the types of literary genres and providing examples of the premises of Budaiya and Hariri, to draw the distinction made by this artistic phenomenon, and to make the most of it. The research ended with several results. The most important one was that Badi'uz-Zaman al-Hamdani succeeded in inventing a new art in Arabic literature, the art of establishing. This achievement was undoubtedly great and recorded by the scholars. However, the completion of Budaiya did not stop at this limit. It had also succeeded in creating an artistic phenomenon which did not pay attention to the past scholars’ views — i.e., the phenomenon of overlapping literary genres. Moreover, his student, Hariri, developed it. The authors were able to employ it to achieve their artistic, linguistic and social goals.]]>

<![CDATA[This study aimed to identify the contents of listening and reading skills in the Arabic textbook “Durus al-Lughah al-Arabiyah.” This study was conducted qualitatively and employed a descriptive analysis technique. The population was the Arabic textbook which applied 2013 Curriculum for the tenth graders at the Islamic senior high schools. Data collection procedures involved making the checklist, analyzing the contents of the textbook, coding, tabulating data, and concluding. The research found both listening and reading skill materials in the textbook was sufficient according to Abd al-Rahman al-Fauzan. However, there were still some weaknesses. There were no introductory materials about the sound and the introduction of the long and short vowels. In addition, the CD/recording was unavailable for listening. Lastly, there was no picture in each title to help students’ comprehension. But, the content of listening and reading skills in the textbook were relevant to 2013 Curriculum for Arabic language subject.]]>

<![CDATA[This study attempted to prove the influence of the use of the word square in teaching vocabulary at MTsN I South Tangerang City, i.e., to prove students’ ability of two classes, before and after using the learning model of word square in teaching learning vocabulary. The research is descriptive-quantitative using the experimental method. The sample of this study was the students of VIII-8 and VIII-11 class in the academic year of 2016-2017. Data collection techniques were observation, interview, vocabulary test, and questionnaire for students of the experimental class. Based on the results of data analysis, the average score of the experimental class was 16,11 and the average score of the control class was 10,65. The score of to was 2,70 and the score of tt was 1,67; then, to was greater than tt. Thus, the use of learning model of word square in teaching vocabulary was significantly effective.]]>

<![CDATA[This study aimed to investigate the modern Arabic language used by Aljazeera online. It focused on the analysis of the development of meaning and language structure. The object of this research is Aljazeera online magazine in the form of lexical, grammatical and contextual meaning analysis, and syntactic research in the form of phrase, clause and verbal analysis. The theory of this research was al-Nazhariyyah al-Siyaqiyyah or contextual theory developed by J.R Firth. This research used a library research using two approaches, namely the sociolinguistic and lexicostatistic approaches. The primary source of this research was Aljazeera online magazine. This study revealed that the modern Arabic language used by Aljazeera magazine had undergone much development in meaning and structure and the development of science and technology had also a great influence on the development of its vocabulary in various fields such as politics, economy and science and technology.]]>

<![CDATA[This study attempted to investigate the strategies used by high school students in writing Arabic compositions, problems they confronted, and differences strategies used by the students with highest and lowest scores. The samples of this study were fifth-grade students of Darussalam Islamic Boarding School, i.e., three students with high achievements and three with low ones. Data collection techniques were used, namely thinking-aloud protocol, interview and observation. Specific processes and strategies were categorized using coding schemes adopted from Yap (1999). The result of this study revealed that the problems mostly faced by the students in writing an Arabic composition were understanding the topic and generating the idea to create a good sentence. Moreover, the study found that students were unable to select proper words, to figure out appropriate sentences and to construct simple sentences. The most commonly–used strategies were repeating words, making sentences, taking down notes and translating.]]>
