Abstract

Strawberry and tamarillo are antioxidant rich fruits that suitable for health functional drinks.  Tamarillo is rich in anthocyanin and carotenoids, meanwhile straxberry has high anthocianin content.  Two small medium entreprises (SMEs) in Batu City that produces strawberry and tamarillo drinks are SME Natural and SME Ridha Nabilla, separately. Both products have high marketing prospect because Batu in one of tour destinations.  However, both SMEs have difficulty to grow their business due to small capacity and inefficiency of both antioxidant rich drinks. This program is aimed to solve the problems in low capacity and inefficiency of strawberry drink production, i.e. extraction, filtration, and packaging, as well as the problem in production of strabwerry jam from strawberry cake. Meanwhile the problem of tamarillo drink production is limited capacity of extraction, filtration, and packaging. Method of this program was technology transfer of mechanical processing by using industrial boiling stainles pan, acceleration of sedimentation by using sentrifuge, increasing packaging capacity and efficiency by semi automatic cup sealer, and increasing strawberry cake crushing by using industrial blender.   Also, the implementation of Good Manufacturing Practices was conducted step by step through accompaniment. The results showed that both antioxidant rich drink SMEs can increase their production capacity and efficiency in extraction, filtration, and packaging.  Capacity of extraction increase 4-5 times compared to capacity before the program.  Filtration efficiency increases by reduction time of filtration from 1 day to 15 min.  Semi automatic cup sealer can increase packaging capacity from 300 to 1500 cups/day.  Strawberry cake crushing also increases by using industrial blender with capacity 30 kg/batch.  Both SMEs gradually implement the GMP to produce safe and qualified products.

Abstract

Coffee bean dryer is one of the solutions to solve the problems in the village of Andungbiru, Tiris, Probolinggo. The drier can be used to minimize the power loss in micro hydro power plant and increase the production of coffee without depending on the weather and sunshine. This coffee dryer was designed to have a compact and mobile. It consisted of 20 vertical drying rack arranged to save the energy. Using the drier, time and human energy used for drying coffee became shorter and more efficient. The cost was five times more cheaply compared to drying in a conventional manner. Besides, the application of coffee dryer was also be used for drying grain because it was equipped with temperature control to regulate the temperature inside the oven. The use of this coffee dryer had other benefits for management micro-hydro power plant. Electrical energy from micro hydro plant which usually discarded during the day, could be used for the processing of coffee

Abstract

Ecotourism is a form of tourism management by promoting the unique tourist attraction such as natural destination, conservation, education and local wisdom. Banyuwangi is a region that makes ecotourism as an important pillar of the economy in coastal areas. Communities in the coastal village of Bangsring District, Banyuwangi, generally have a chance to earn more revenue from ecotourism sector. The existence of coral reefs and beautiful islands are natural potential that can be developed into high-value marine ecotourism, especially with the increase in ecotourism trend. It is also in line with the direction of Government policy in Banyuwangi to advance marine ecotourism sector. Based on information obtained from the chairman of Pokwasmas Samudera Bhakti and KNIH Bangsring, the problem faced by partners related to the development of ecotourism was that Bangsring ecotourism requires more promotions. Information about ecotourism so far has not fully use information technology, whereas characteristics of ecotourism fans who belong to a niche market requires their websites and other social media as an effective media campaign. "Bunder" (Underwater Bangsring) is one of the marketing strategies and promotion of village tourism potential in Bangsring using mobile application based on android. By using information technology (IT), “Bunder” is able to generate informations based on android platform that can be accesed from anywhere and by everyone. A downloadable application named "Bunder" is regarding the potential of tourism and natural resources in Bangsring and its surrounding. This application is expected to support effective promotion towards sustainable management of marine ecotourism in Bangsring, Banyuwangi.

Abstract

Internet is a great tool to be introduced to SMME (Small Micro Medium Enterprises) as an alternative to promote their products. This program is done to introduce and create an opportunity for several choosen SMMEs to advertise their products through the internet. There are three SMMEs that are selected based on HWPRI reccomendation to be utilized with e-commerce. They are Niwa Crafting, Gazatri Art, and Preman Super. E-commerce and pheripherals to access internet are provided for them. In the end of the program, after receiving software and hardware, the three SMMEs are enthusiasm to receive the programs. However, further investigation is needed to understand the nature of the SMME in using the internet.

Abstract

Alih teknologi mekanis produksi olahan labu kuning dan stik labu kuning telah dilakukan dan berhasil meningkatan kapasitas produksi dan efisiensi proses dari 1 resep/30 menit menjadi 20 resep/30 menit.  Alat mekanis yang diberikan berupa alat mixer, pemipih adonan (noodle maker), kompor industri, dan oven pemanggang kapasitas lima rak. Alat lain yang diberikan berupa freezer untuk penyimpanan beku bahan berupa pasta labu.  Alih teknologi mekanis produksi tidak hanya dapat digunakan  untuk produk nastar dan stik labu kuning tersebut tetapi juga dapat digunakan untuk pengembangan produk lain yang diproduksi mitra seperti mie sehat aneka sayuran, samiler, dan kerupuk. Mitra KWT Sridedono VI telah berusaha mengimplementasikan GMP walaupun banyak kendala yang dihadapi dalam implementasi tersebut.

Abstract

Implemented Mocaf flour processing on SMEs still has a weakness in the process of drying cassava chips.The drying process is using natural sun drying. In hot conditions in full sun drying takes 2 to 3 days while in the rainy season between November and April the SMEs unproductive because of the delay time of drying, the chip mocaf grow mushrooms with the consequences of the whole production must be discarded. Thus most of the cluster chose not to produce in the rainy season.Application of forced convectionmechanical dryer is an alternative of drying technology in the fermented cassava chips drying process due have a good quality and a longer storability. Forced convectionmechanical dryer is designed with indirect heating system consisting of a heat exchanger unit, the drying chamber, shelves, blower and frames. Cassava chips drying machine capacity is 40-80 kg/batch is divided into 80 shelves. Fuel is LPG. The results of machine performance test showed an effective drying cassava chips is 3.5 hours by the end of the temperature distribution between 31.9 to 47.6 ° C and a water content of 12.1 to 12.9%, with the desired optimum water content of the cassava chips for further processing into flour mocaf is 12-13%.

Abstract

The objective of this study was to disseminate the technology of Artificial Insemiation (AI) and Food Processing. This activity expected to help the Merino sheeppartner group  forovercoming their problems which subsequently it can improve their income. The methods used inthis study was to give insight knowledge and simple technology to the selected Merino sheep partner group. Basedon the discussion with Merino sheep partner group, several activities were carried out, i.e.: (1) facilitating somegood quality of Merino sheep lifestoocks, (2) providing technology of alternative food production with cooper, (3) training of productionand financial management, (4) demo-reproduction management and (5) monitoring and evaluation. The result of this studyshowed that theMerino sheep partner group could master the technique of the technique of selecting superior sires ,parent management, fertilizer production engineering, manufacture and management of alternative feed production and reproduction as well as the financial well.

Abstract

Sate tuna is the main menu Kondang Merak Beach area. The product is only sold in limited area, Merak Kondang, due to constrained by geography and food safety (hygiene). The aim of this activity was to improve the quality of sate tuna with processing hygiene and good packaging technology. It is an effort being made to improve the distribution of product marketing tuna satay. Community as producer of sate tuna has been given the knowledge fish handling, choosing tuna meat, sate processing and vacuum packaging technology. From these activity was resulted product of red and white sate, pepes tuna (grilled tuna meat) with good and hygienic packaging. We also gave motivation and business development skill to the community in Kondang Merak.

Abstract

The community extension service aim to upgrade farmers' knowledge about organic fertilizer; (2) introduce the Crotalaria juncea cultivation as a source of organic fertilizer in situ; (3) demonstrate the potential of Crotalaria juncea as an organic fertilizer for crops on dry land. This activity was conducted at village of Sukadana and Gumantar, Regency of North Lombok  for eight months. The method used was participatory approach with stages of  the activity  as follows: (1)  socialization of the  activity plan to the cooperator farmers; (2) extension services to farmers in respect of organic matter role in   increasing soil fertility; (3) demonstrate to farmers about the  Crotalaria cultivation  and its utilization as organic fertilizer by making experimental plots; (4) evaluation of the achievement of the activity objectives. Results of the activity shown that (1)  farmers' knowledge about organic fertilizer and its role for soil fertility increased;  (2) farmers interested  to cultivate Crotalaria juncea  to be used as a source of organic fertilizer at dry land; (3) farmers responded positively to this program and confirmed that it provides economic benefits in agriculture

Abstract

Catfish (Clarias gariepinus) is one of the most cultured fish in Indonesia. The main problem in catfish culture is low productivity and high feed conversion ratio (FCR). The purpose of this activity was to evaluate the application of probiotic in catfish culture. For nursery, catfish juveniles with size of 2-3 cm was cultured for 40 days while fish with size of 7-9 cm was cultivated for 85 days in grow-out tank. All tanks were treated by probiotic during one culture cycle. Probiotic was directly given to the water and administered by feed. The results showed that survival rates of nursery and grow-out tanks were 90 and 92%, respectively. The FCR value in the grow-out was 0.8. It can concluded that probiotic application was able to improve the survival rate and the feed conversion ratio in catfish culture.
