Abstract

Tegal Randu Village, Klakah District has high potency of natural resources in the form of Ranu Klakah, where in this place there are Keramba Jaring Apung (KJA) to have business of conducting nile tilapia fish ± 300 slots. One of the obstaclesin this business is conducting nile tilapia fish seed supply which sus-pends from other area, in limited number and there is no guarantee of this quality. In Tegal Randu and its surrounding areas there is no business of nile tilapia fish hatchery. Furthermore, water irrigation of Ranu Klakah contains high rate of sulfur so its quite vulnerable to business of fish hatchery. The purposes of this program were a) to give an education, train about nila fish hatchery b) education, train in the field of biofilter technique to be able to repair and improve the water quality for the nila fish hatchery. c) management of ecofriendly fishery conducting and d) to create new employment. Method which is used in this program is Counselling, Training, Discussion and demonstration of filter in the form of vegetative biofilter with trickling filter. The Result  of this activity are a) Biofilter Vegetative System and Biodrum Filter Trickling b) the increasing of society enthusiasm to business of fish conducting and nile tilapia fish hatchery by the construction of some pool. This activity drives society enthusiasm so it needs to be continued with further development activities.

Abstract

ABSTRACT The objective of this activity is to implement the washing machine for rhizome and hydraulic press machine to improve the performance and efficiency of jamu production process. There are several activities such as: (1) surveying at small medium entrerprises of traditional medicine in Batu, “Ragil” and “Bu Roes” and doing preliminary evaluation, (2) designing and assembling washing machine and hydraulic press machine, (3) training, (4) implementing machine in SMEs partner, then (5) monitoring and evaluation.  The result of this activity showed that washing machine performance had average input capacity of 5 kg/process/5 minutes with 95% efficiency. Hydraulic press had average input capacity of 10 kg/process/ 5 minutes. The benefits of both machines implementation were time and power saving, and increasing production hygiene and efficiency. Keywords: Traditional medicine, washing machine, hydraulic press machine

Abstract

ABSTRACT Black cincau (Mesona palustris BL) or black grass jelly is traditional beverage ingredient that is believed has efficacious for health, but the black cincau gel in the market known asunhygienic food and has shortshelf life. Liang tea of black cincau is a kind of processed product development of black cincau. Liang tea or herbal tea made from of black cincau extracts with the addition of other herbs such as ginger, cinnamon or pandan leaves. "Sumber Murni " home industry is theproducerof blackcincaugelinBatucitywhich isinterested inproducingliang tea of black cincau in a plastic cup packaging as well as product diversification for enterprise development. Therefore, Liang tea of black cincau technology package should be a well proven technology where the technology is practical, easy to introduce. Technology which applied are: 1 ) Formulation of Liang Tea is black cincau extract : water = 60 : 40 and ginger extract added = 10 % , 2 ) The process is suitable with the flow diagram, 3 ) Engineering equipment such as semi-automatic cup sealer with tank and cookers tank for blending materials with automatic stirrer .Keywords: cookers tank with automatic stirrer,liang tea of black cincau,  semi-automatic cup sealer

Abstract

ABSTRACTOne of the potential should be developed in the village Bakung are a variety of processing chips. Methods of activity in the introduction of this tech-nology package includes counseling, demonstration and practice. Extension activities or lectures intended to introduce a variety of matters related to the introduced equipment, process steps and various factors that must be considered in order to obtain quality treatment process-es in accordance with desired product. Demonstration activities conducted on the process of making chips in full by utilizing packet processing technology. In this demonstration activities presented in chronological order processing, process conditions that need to be considered and how to cope in every stage of the process when there are obstacles or problems with accompanying examples of product or process conditions with props. In the next activity, participants practice so as to operate the equipment are integrated in the production process.Implementation of science and technology activities has been well demonstrated by a whole series of programs that have been dlakukan. Some of the benefits of this activity is the increased understanding of the partici-pants in the activities of production and increasing the performance of its chips.Keywords: chipsprocessing, technology application

Abstract

ABSTRACT Women Farmer Group "Sri Rejeki" was formed with the objectives to  empo-wer farmer communities Ngaglik Village, Batu.  They produce Aloe vera based products such as jelly candies, instant powder, jam, and syrup. The problem faced by this group is low production efficiency that impact on low quality and quantity of Aloe vera based products, that makes less competitiveness to gain larger market share.  This group  needs tech-nology transfer and innovation in order to produce higher quality products through LLM (Low Technology, Low Investment, and Marketable). By this program, the activities included dissemination of good manufacturing practices, standard ope-rating production (SOP) as well as the facilitation of production machines and equipment such as blender, mixer mechanical and oven for processed aloe vera based products. These equipments have been used and increase  production efficiency indicating by shorter production time, higher production capacity and higher product quality.Keywords: aloe vera, capacity, efficiency, production, technology transfer

Abstract

Kondang Merak laid on South of Malang facing of Indian Ocean. This area had small fisheries village which inhibited by 30 families. 12 fisheries worked as compressor diver who collect lobster and abalone surrounding of reef in Kondang Merak. Those commodity usually hand collected by fishermen using compressor dive. During dive fishermen ignored depth, bottom time or tools that they used. We are introduced self contained underwater breathing apparatus (SCUBA) training for fishermen. Aims of this training were to give: knowledge about diving and physical and environment aspect influence dive activity; technical use of SCUBA and caring for diving apparatus. Good skill and technic will obviate fishermen from decompression sickness disease (DCS) and nitrogen narcosis which have dangerous impact for health of fisherman in Kondang Merak. Keywords: Kondang Merak, compresor diver, SCUBA, DCS, compressor

Abstract

ABSTRACT The aim of this community service was to introduce new technology of milk fish to improve its economic value. The activity was conducted by extension and demonstrating to the small scale industry (milkfish gel/otak-otak and smoked milkfish) in Sidoarjo Regency. The success of activities was evaluated by qualitative and quantitative analysis. The results showed that the community was interested to try and implement this new technology (smoking cash fish, meat mincer, and grinder machine). However, there were some problems for the small scale industry to apply this method, such as inadequate equipment. Therefore, such technology was only conducted by home industry that still cannot extend its market share, is the only industry who implemented such technology. As the result, selling activities was cannot operates well. The suggestions from this activity was important to make business partnership between government, entrepreneur and the other institution that has related with this activity to  increase society incomes. Keywords: economic value, milk fish,  smoking cash fish, meat mincer, grinder machine

Abstract

ABSTRACT Batu City is wellknown as apple icon as apple and aplle based products producer. " Small Medium Enterprses (SMEs) "Arum Sari" has developed innovative apple carang mas which has high demand and grows market, but this SME can not fill the market share. The main problems faced by SMEs is the improvement of production building and outlet for diplaying "Arum Sari" products with hygienic standards. Partially implementation of GMP for food production, as well as the limitations of technology transfer for production of carang mas, impact on quality and production quantity. Based on these reaosons, the strengthening of technology to improve efficiency and productivity of the Arum Sari is required. The results of this activity include a technology transfer and renovation of production and display rooms.  Mechanical shredder machine and spinner, have been used for carang mas production. Socialization of GMP, SOP and quality control in the production process have been carried out to the workers and owners of SMEs "Arum Sari" so that the product is more higyine and safe for consumption. Abstract

ABSTRACTBaganis one type of fishing gear that uses light to collect fish. The lights are expected to stimulate the fish to come and stay around the light and than arrested with net. The use of light for fishing is growing rapidly, almost all fishing gear use light as a tool for collecting fish. Application of this technology aims to increase fish catch fishermen in District Lekok through the application of technology underwater lamp with LED. Underwater lamp applied to the bagantancapwith a certain intensity and color to find the intensity of light and color that give the best catches.Best catches in the light of 450 lux is capable of delivering the highest total catch of 254 kg, it is supported by the values of illumination of 1.5 lux at a distance of 5 m. Abstract

ABSTRACTGinger chips is a kind of snack that made from ginger, shredded coconut, sesame seeds, and sugar. This product is similar to candy, but this product is produced inefficiently due to anual and traditional process. The purpose of this activity is to increase the production capacity of ginger chips at UKM Sona Jaya in Batu by applied the mechanical processing  machines to fulfill the market demand. This acivity  successfully introduced the washing machine for ginger tuber with the capacity of 5 kg ginger/process/5 minutes, shredding machine with the capacity of 1 piece coconut/minute, and roasting machine with the capacity 12 piece coconut/process/4 hours. It is also applied digital scales and continuous sealer. By this processing machines, it showed the increasing of efficiency and average production capacity as high as 25%. Keywords: digital scale, ginger chips, rhizome, roasting machine,  shredder, washing machine
