Abstract

Tsunami is one of the deadliest natural disaster that causing devastating property damage and loss of life. Therefore, this triggers many scientist to do researches in tsunami mitigation disaster, such as analyzing the potential risks caused by tsunami. The process of analyzing the potential risk caused by tsunami can be done by grouping the data of tsunami based on characteristics of the previous tsunami events. DBSCAN (Density-based Spatial Clustering of Application with Noise) is a popular clustering method and can be used to do the task. The algorithm do the clustering processes using density-based concept that able to detect outlier/noise and clusters irregular shapes. It was proved in this research where the evaluation method using Silhouette Coefficient on the DBSCAN clustering result gave highest value 0.96056649 for ε and minPts value of .1 and 0.1.

Abstract

Power management control using Zelio Logic Smart Relay is applied as a means to make automatic power transition from battery to generator and vice versa. The design of a hybrid system in a laboratory scale is described including the design of software part using Zelio Soft2 (ANONIM 3, 2014). The experiment results show that the values of voltage and power output of the solar cell will increase with the increasing intensity of the sun, while the current will be decreasing. The current sensor used in the system is able to detect the linear changes of current flowing into the load and to respond in a form of voltage to be inputted into Zelio. The automatic operation of genset can be performed properly and the SFC optimum value of the genset of 2.8 kW, 220 V, 50 Hz is 0.67 l/kWh under 72% loading of the generator capacity. Automatic switching of the hybrid system can be realized based on the sensing results of battery voltage and load voltage with the help of Zelio. Load is supplied through the battery inverter when the battery voltage exceeds its voltage, it is supplied directly from the genset and the relay is activated to charge the battery.

Abstract

Indonesia a potential market for business because of a large number of smartphone users, especially developers of mobile applications. Each application stores allow the user to provide a review of the application used. The review is not only beneficial for prospective users of the application but also beneficial for the application developer. Review of the applications that are influenced by emotion (sentiment) are grouped or classified to determine positive and negative polarization. Therefore, it is necessary to have an application that can perform sentiment analysis for the mobile app reviews using Neighbor-Weighted K-Nearest Neighbor (NWKNN) classification method with high accuracy results. NWKNN method is able to classify mobile application review documents on the balanced data with current value of k = 20 gives the best f-measure average value of 0.9 with ratio of training data and test data 80%: 20%. However, for the imbalanced data with value of k = 45 gives the best f-measure average value of 0.797 with a ratio of training data and test data 80%: 20%. Based on the results, the effect of imbalanced data to  the accuracy of the NWKNN methods by comparing NWKNN and KNN methods, it was found that the value of F-Measure NWKNN method is better than KNN method with gap of 0,27, due to the added weight on class minority overcome misclassification problem on minority class.

Abstract

This research discusses the principles of measuring the electrical impedance of a solution using parallel plate probe. The method used is by injecting an AC-current in the solution within the frequency range of 1Hz - 1MHz. The electrical impedance value plotted as a function of frequency. The results of the experiment showed that the electrical impedance of a solution could be measured correctly by using this method. The surface area of the probe, the distance between the probe, and the frequency of the injected AC-current, giving the measured impedance value changes significantly. This method also proved to be used to identify the value of the concentration of the sugar solution with relatively good accuracy. The experiment results demonstrate conformity with the existing theory

Abstract

Performance of six stroke single power combustion engine affected by venturi diameter of carburetor is presented. This study is to begin on development of six-stroke single power of combustion engine (CE). Developing of this six stroke CE is based on addition of duration on both mass- and thermal diffusion, and on mixing time before the combustion. Evaluation of the six-stroke CE performance is done via enlarge venturi diameter of carburetor. Selected venturi diameters are 18 (mm) and 20 (mm). Fuel of the CE is gasoline-based using research octane number (RON) of 92. Interval of each ascending rotation speed is 400 (rpm), and observation was done using a constant throttle aperture 30 (%). The observed performances of the 125 (cc) six-stroke CE is then compared using a convensional four-stroke 125 (cc), as well. It informs that diameter 20 (mm) can increase average of about 21(%) on torsion, 21 (%) on power, 16 (%) on specific fuel consumption (SFC), and 23 (%) on thermal efficiency to that of the diameter 18 (mm). If compared to four-stroke CE, the six-stroke CE has lower in SFC and thermal efficiency, however, it has higher in average value of torsion, power, and engine speed, respectively about 15 (%).

Abstract

One of the essential oil export commodities from Indonesia is patchouli oil. However, the price of patchouli todays is unstable caused by the low quality of the oils, which has high levels of acid and lower alcohol content. One part of patchouli that is widely used to obtain essential oils is the leaf. The better quality of leaves will produce oil with grade quality. The quality of the leaves can be identified by its physical characteristics. Leaves that have a good quality are small leaves, thick and slightly yellowish red color. This identification process can be done visually, but, it will be easier if it can be done automatically using computer applications. Therefore, this paper performs automatic identification of leaves utilizing image of patchouli leaves and artificial neural network algorithm Self Organizing Maps (SOM). Identification was done to distinguish the leaves with good quality and poor. From the test results using the initial learning rate 0.1, 0.3 deduction learning rate, the minimum rate learning 0.0001, 40 training data and testing the data 60 obtained an average accuracy of 82.82%.

Abstract

Both, biotic and abiotic factor is the most important problem for agriculture in Indonesia. Biotic factor such as plant disease could decrease yield till more than 50%, while abiotic factor such as soil contamination could decrease yield till more than 30%. One of choice to overcome this problem is using bio-phytoremediation method. This method  combine remediation using plant (phytoremediation) and remediation using microbe (bio remediation). This study was aimed to determine the effects of bio-phytotemediation method using Paraserianthes falcataria which infected by mycorrhizal fungi to overcome Phytophthora brassicae, the main clubroot disease on Brassica juncea, in Pb contaminated soil. We also aimed to know the influence of the method to absorb soil Pb using Paraserianthes falcataria. The research was conducted in the Mycology Faculty of Agriculture, University of Brawijaya from March to October 2015. The research used Completely Randomized Design with 6 treatments and 4 replications. Parameter observation in this research were: 1) Intensity of clubroot disease; 2) Growth of B. juncea; 3) Population of mycorrhizal spores in soil,  4) Mycorrhizal infection inside plant cell; and 4) Pb content of soil and plant tissues. The results was showed  that mycorrhizal has significantly effects to decrease clubroot disease intensity. But, mycorrhizal has no significantly effect to the plant growth, including stem length and leaves number. The number of mycorrhizal spores in the soil after 35 days application was increases, and the percentage of infection in the roots of B. juncea and P. falcataria was fluctuated. The application of mycorrhizal can decrease Pb content in the soil and increase Pb content in P. falcataria.
