Abstract

This article aims to analyze the role of a cold storage company, namely PT. Harta Samudra, which stands in Nusantara Village, Banda District, in creating job opportunities and improving the economy of the Banda Naira community. Given the current condition of the Bandanese people, they are still vulnerable to the problems of unemployment and scarcity of jobs. The main question of this research is whether the Harta Samudra cold storage has the potential to improve the welfare of the people of Banda Naira, considering the very high productivity of the results obtained by the small fishing industry in Maluku, which can also affect the high economic level of the residents of Banda Naira. This article is based on qualitative research, which takes the subject of corporate employees through observation and interview procedures, heuristic analysis, source criticism, and interpretation. The findings of this research indicate that the Coldstorage Company owned by PT. Samudra's property in Banda Naira has been able to play a role in empowering the people of Banda by opening new jobs and increasing the income of workers who are sufficient for the standard of living of the residents of Banda Naira. Articles can show the positive role of a storage company in Banda, but a case comparison is needed with other similar companies in Banda Naira so that it can become an input for various stakeholders in Maluku and Banda Naira in particular

Abstract

Inclusive education is an educational approach that has become a worldwide phenomenon. Accordingly, most of the studies conducted on teachers’ attitudes toward inclusive education are quantitative in nature. Hence, this study explored the attitudes of university faculty toward the inclusion of students with special needs. This qualitative study employed the phenomenological research design. The participants in the study who were identified through purposive sampling involved fourteen (14) university faculty. The inclusion criteria for the key informants considered those faculty without formal education and training background in special education but with experience in teaching college students with special needs. The data gathering was done through a semi-structured interview that lasted for an hour or more. This method of data-collection allowed the researchers to ask follow-up questions to saturate the information from the participants. The interview questions were guided through an aid memoire that was developed based on an a priori code. Audio recordings and field notes were used to help the researchers in the transcription of the data. A member check was conducted with the key informants after the transcription of their interviews to observe the correctness and novelty of the collected data. Through the cool and warm analyses of the data, three themes emerged, namely: a) being egalitarian, b) being sensitive, and c) being accountable. The themes that emerged from the analyses of the gathered data show that the university faculty have positive attitudes toward students with special needs.

Abstract

Remarking on the narrative of curriculum design, scarce research attention has been harnessed to understand the implication of curriculum design in the development of entrepreneurship intentions in Nigeria.  To address this gap, the study assesses how curriculum design can be used as a lever to propel robust entrepreneurship intentions among graduates in reaction to rising youth unemployment. A total of 19 respondents (graduates and educators) were interviewed to understand the role of curriculum design in the development of entrepreneurial intentions for employment and venture creation. Different themes and sub-themes were identified with the NVivo (12) qualitative software, and the Content Qualitative Analytical tool was thereafter used to make sense of these themes. Results revealed the concern of ambiguous and outdated course curricula incapacitated to explore and provoke appropriate entrepreneurial intentions. The right mix of entrepreneurial intentions, skills, traits, and competency is largely not infused in the existing higher education curriculum in Nigeria. Addressing graduates’ unemployment challenges is unconnected to having a robust and practical curriculum in tandem with global best practices. The study concludes with the need to revoke the existing Nigeria’s higher education curriculum through the infusion and application of entrepreneurial intentions skills and traits.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the impact of waste management managed by the Banda Naira Banda Naira Mandiri (BNM) in Kampung Baru Village, Banda District, Central Maluku Regency. This research focuses attention on changes in people's behavior in responding to the existence of waste banks for increasing economic welfare and internalizing ecological awareness in the lives of the Banda people. Research uses qualitative methods with data collection techniques through questionnaires, interviews, observation, and documentation. Data were analyzed using the processes of data collection, data reduction, data display, and drawing conclusions. The results showed that the pattern of waste bank management driven by BNM and carried out in schools and inter-island villages has increased awareness of the dangers of waste that is not properly processed. People are becoming more concerned with utilizing waste rather than disposing of it. Through the 3R principles, community empowerment efforts in the context of waste have been quite successful and have had a positive impact on ecological education, increased economic welfare, and creativity for the people of Banda Naira. However, it is realized that there is still limited knowledge, especially in the management of plastic waste, and several problems with the price of waste, which is claimed to be too cheap. This research recommends conducting further studies on exploratory research in order to obtain a formulation of a coastal community-based waste management model

Abstract

This class action research aims to improve the ability to write proposal text of XI Social 1 students at State Senior High School 4 Jember by using reflective learning model plus. Based on the results of observations and interviews in class XI Social 1 of State Senior High School 4 Jember, it was found that only 13 students (37%) out of 35 students scored above the Minimum Mastery Criteria in learning to write proposal text. To overcome these problems, learning improvement was carried out by applying the reflective learning plus model. This study used a qualitative approach and a type of classroom action research consisting of two cycles. Each cycle consists of four stages, namely: (1) planning, (2) action implementation, (3) observation, and (4) reflection. The methods used to obtain data were observation, tests, interviews, and documentation. The results showed that students' ability to write proposal text increased from cycle I to cycle II. The number of students who reached the Minimum Mastery Criteria in cycle I was 27 students (77%) out of 35 students, while in cycle II 35 students (100%). Based on the results obtained, it can be concluded that the application of reflective learning model plus can improve students' ability in writing proposal text.

Abstract

The scarcity of supplementary teaching materials that teachers and students can use in learning the literary of Cirebon Legend in the digital era gives rise to the urgency to develop digital-based supplementary teaching materials of fantasy texts following the Merdeka (Independence) Curriculum. This research aimed to create digital-based teaching materials of Cirebon Legend texts as an application that serves as supplementary teaching materials for seventh-grade students in Junior High Schools (SMP). This research used the Research and Development (R&D) model, according to Borg and Gall. The components of teaching materials include four aspects: content aspect, presentation aspect, language and readability aspect, and graphic (visual) aspect. These aspects were used in the validity test by expert lecturers and teachers and in students’ response questionnaires. This research found that the digital-based teaching materials of Cirebon Legend texts for seventh-grade students received positive responses and are eligible for further use as supplementary teaching materials.

Abstract

Research on authorship patterns identifies the direction of authorship trends in the field of knowledge. This research aims to determine the authorship patterns in four Indonesian library and information science journals with national accreditation SINTA 2 category from 2013 to 2020. The focus consists of publication, author and affiliate patterns, network, trend, and type of collaboration. To achieve this goal, this study uses a descriptive study with a quantitative approach through bibliometric techniques, especially co-authorship analysis. The study found that the increase and stability of publications were in line with the estasblishment of SINTA 2 accreditation. 66% of authors who published more than one article often wrote collaboratively. The authors who produce the highest articles have published different articles in the four Sinta 2 journals and high academic positions. The authors serve as a center for collaboration. 78% of institutions come from the library and information science. State Universities are the type of institution that produces the highest articles by 73%. Most of the articles in each journal are written by authors affiliated with the journal's managing institutions. Cumulatively, the authorship trend is a collaboration with a degree of 0.56. The trend has changed cumulatively from individual to collaboration since 2016. Most partnerships occur between authors from the same institution, with 73.17%.
