Abstract

This article tries to explain how the relationship between Islam and politics after the conflict between the Government of Indonesia and the Free Aceh Movement (GAM). After the peace agreement between the two parties with the signing of the Helsinki MoU, the Indonesian government interpreted the agreement in Law No. 11 of 2006 concerning the Government of Aceh (UUPA). The presence of the act makes the ulama a partner of the government in running the wheels of government by giving fatwa on issues of government, development, community development, and the economy. Furthermore, after peace, the role of the ulama was not only to give knowledge to the community, some ulama participated in practical politics. This was one of the effects of the UUPA, where Aceh was given the privilege of establishing local political parties. At present some ulama have occupied various positions in party management, and even participated in the regional head election (PILKADA), where religious values are used as a means of gaining power.

Abstract

Information seeking behavior is a micro-level search behavior, which is shown by a person when interacting with all types of information systems. This study examines information seeking behavior through electronic journals using the Ellis model which has 8 (eight) stages of information search, namely starting, chaining, browsing, differentiating, monitoring, extracting, verification, and ending. This study also examines the constraints faced by Library Science students in searching for information through electronic journals. This study uses quantitative methods using purposive sampling technique, with a total of 57 respondents. The results showed that there was a small proportion of Library Science students who did not start, namely collecting initial information through experts, lecturers, or friends. At the chaining stage, some students do not use bibliographies of books, journals, scientific papers and also do not specify keywords before searching. At the browsing stage, a small proportion of students did not limit their search so that the information displayed did not come out of the desired topic. While the obstacles they face in searching for electronic journals are networks that often have problems, difficulty in determining keywords, limited information displayed in electronic journals, limited foreign language skills, and also advertisements that appear in electronic journals.

Abstract

AbstractThe Abbasid dynasty had succeeded in placing the Islamic world at the pinnacle of world civilization. The achievements at that time were inseparable from the role of dakwah activities which were very comprehensive so that they were able to target all lines of community life. The synergy between the rulers and the people during the Abbasid government was proven to be able to give birth to many disciplines, not only religious knowledge, which in fact originated from the Al-Qur'an and hadith, but also gave birth to many general sciences such as medicine, philosophy, chemistry, economic and other science. The Khalifah as the holder of power supports a lot of preaching and scientific activities, this is evidenced by the construction of many supporting facilities and infrastructure such as mosques, madrasas, libraries and hospitals. In addition, the openness of Abbasid civilization also brought in people from various parts of the world, not only from Arab circles, people from Persians, Chinese, European, Indian and African who took part in filling in the diversity of scientific developments there. Then the economic condition of the community also has a very good record, such as in the field of Abbasid trade in its time as the center of world trade, as well as the agricultural sector, the Abbasid community is known to be prosperous, and has a very good life order. Therefore, the Abbasid dynasty could easily be applied in life in the current era, by building cooperation between the rulers and the community in developing da'wah because with the existence of a strong dakwah it was not lame in accordance with its essence and also followed the mission of da'wah so that it could be perfect, there needs to be good cooperation.
