Abstract

This study aims to determine and analyze: 1) The implementation of the Suroan Tradition of the Javanese Migrant Community in HessaPerlompongan Village, Dusun IV, 2) The Meaning of Suroan of the Javanese Migrants in HessaPerlompongan Village, Dusun IV. This study applied a qualitative method, where the research was carried out on the Javanese Migrant Community in HessaPerlompongan Village, Dusun IV, AirBatu District Asahan Regency. The data validity was guaranteed by detailed observation and data triangulation. The results show that: 1). The Javanese migrant community in hamlet IV HessaPerlompongan did not abandon the Javanese tradition that was brought by their ancestors 2). The implementation of the Suroan in Hamlet IV HessaPerlompongan usually coincides with the 1st of Suromonth, marked by two series of activities: Genduri and The Kuda Lumping Show (JarangKepang) 3). The Javanese migrants in hamlet IV interpret one Suro night or throughout the Suro month as well as: a month that is required to be eling (remember) and alert, interpreting the Suro month as a month full of calamities so that in this month the Javanese people are not allowed to build houses, hold for events such as weddings, circumcision parties, and others. Javanese people in hamlet IV interpret the Suro month as a form of respect for their previous ancestors' spirits and as a month full of fear and, like spirits, continue to appear. In this case, the Javanese Migrant Community in HessaPerlompongan Village, Dusun IV, Air Batu District, Asahan Regency should continue to preserve the customs, habits, and traditions of their ancestors and pass them on to future generations (children and grandchildren) so that these traditions do not become extinct and remain sustainable.Keyword: Community, Javanese Migrants, tradition, Suroan

Abstract

Mining in Mawar Hamlet, Kumbang Village, Pelangi District, Pasuruan Regency is a type of illegal mining, but mining activities have been carried out since 1984 until now. So this research aims to analyze the social capital of the owner of the excavation in maintaining the C quarry in the Rose Village with the established network. The method used is a qualitative research method to explore more complete data, and uses a case study approach because an incident in 2015 was marked with the issue of illegal mining permits that were evicted by the Civil Service Unit (Satpol PP of Pasuruan Regency). This study uses the theory proposed by Pierre Bourdie about social capital. Social capital can be related to economic capital, cultural capital, and symbolic capital. Thus, the emergence of the capital generated by the owner of the excavation originated from the habitus as a daily habit carried out by the agent, the network relationships formed were also strategies to strengthen the agent's position. Keywords: Social Capital, Galian C Mining, Illegal Mining

Abstract

Irregularities in spatial use that are not in accordance with regional planning resulting in reduced protected and buffer zone space in Pariaman City. The research objective was to analyze the causes of the deviation in spatial use from the point of view of the sustainability of the coastal area in Pariaman City. The research method is a combination of qualitative research methods with quantitative research methods using a spatial approach using geographic information systems (GIS). The results show that the harmonization analysis between Law 26 of 2007 article 5 and Law 1 of 2014 article 9 and RTRW are appropriate: Coastal areas are used as protected and buffer areas, but the use of existing land is not in accordance with the harmonization analysis of the two laws and regulations. By the existence of a built-up area in an area that should be a buffer zone. The participation of the community and city government in the management of the coastal area causes this deviation: Lack of knowledge of residents about the zoning of customary rights over are two contributing factors. The city government which prioritizes the economic development of coastal areas with tourism development threatens the ecology and coastal resources   Keyword: Environmental Management, Conservation, Coasta areas, Community participation, Zoning

Abstract

The issue of free sex is still a major problem in West Sumatra, especially among teenagers. One of the causes was the high level of exposure of sexual information from digital devices. Teenagers who did the free sex are suspected that they have low digital literacy. The measurement of teenagers' free sex digital literacy level would show a new consideration for the government or people in charge to increase the effectiveness of preventing the free sex behavior among teenagers. This study was conducted. It involved 38 free sex teenagers age 11-24. They consisted of 11 males and 27 females who live in Padang, Bukittingi, and Payakumbuh. By using the Steve Wheeler's digital literacy approach, it was found that the average level of free sex on teenagers in West Sumatra was 77.5 or on medium category. This finding at the same time refuted the initial hypothesis that stated the level of teenagers' free sex digital literacy was on low category. These differences could be a consideration because two expected elements of digital literacy to prevent the teenagers from negative effect could reach the lowest achievement if they are compared with other digital literacy elements. In addition, the huge pornography propaganda in internet has also become one of causes why the teenagers with medium digital literacy category still do free sex.
