Abstract

This research aims to study dry starter manufacture of isolates Lactic acid bacteria (LAB), Acetic acid bacteria (BAA) and mixture of LAB and AAB isolates for Aceh cocoa fermentation. This research is an exploratory laboratory with 3 stages: the rejuvenation of bacteria, bacterial isolates characterization and manufacture of dry starter. The analysis carried out by analysis of moisture content, cell viability and descriptive organoleptics (flavor, color and texture). The results reveal that the five of isolates BAL and BAAL. sake, L. carnis, L. coryniformis, Gluconobacter sp dan Acetobacter sp) can be rejuvenated well. L. coryniformis and Gluconobacter sp is selected bacteria (potential) that has the ability to degrade protein and pectin. The resulting dried starter had an average water content 9.77% and cell viability 1,3 x 105CFU/g. Organoleptic characteristics of dried starter as a whole has a sour flavor, bright color and smooth texture. The best treatment was obtained by the treatment using selected LAB isolate (L. coryniformis) with the highest cell viability was 1,9 x 107 CFU/g.

Abstract

Tomatoes are a type of horticultural plant that has an important role for national food. Tomato commodities are used as food ingredients and can be made various processed food industry products. Local cherry tomatoes are neglected and not yet widely used plants, but have the potential to be developed as a genetic resource in breeding programs in order to increase food diversification based on local resources because it is supported by huge market needs and low commodity availability of cherry tomatoes that is. An effective and efficient cultivation system is also an important factor in supporting the availability and quality of the products. The research aimed to knowing the local tomato cerry response Subang to the differentdoses of nutritional application administered through drip irrigation to affect the character of growth and results. The research method of the study uses the complete random plan (RAL) byusing 7 times with a 5-fold test and a follow-up test by using 5% Duncan assay. The results showed thattwo treatments (P2 and P3) application of nutrient doses were able to give a different response to all growth parameters while the parameters of the effect of nutrient application on local cherry tomatoes Subang has increased only in fruit diameter and thickness of fruit.

Abstract

Increasing carbohydrate consumption increased as well as increasing population, it essential to increases in the production of through increased productivity by using varieties superior and the widening project of planting. The purpose of this researchis to look at the adaptation of 15 varieties maize hybrid more adaptive Musi Rawas. Using Completely Randomized Block Design with 15 genotypes used was CT16, CT17, CT21, CT22, CT23, CT27, CT29, CT30, CT34, CT37, CT38, CT42, CT46, CT47, CT51. Treatment genotype have significant interaction witht all plants, leaf number, cob long, number of cob seeds, weight of 100 seeds. The appearance of the best hybrid based on growth vegetative are CT17, CT21, CT47.Based on variables cob long, number of cob seeds, and weight of 100 seeds hybrids CT21, CT23, CT51 indicating more adaptive Musi Rawas on land.

Abstract

Today business eggplant still give a pretty good market opportunities, especially to meet the demand of the domestic market. Hydroponics is a way of cultivating plants without using soil, but the use of media such as rice husk, sawdust, fine sand, bricks, coco, and more. The research objective, to get the best medium composition hydroponic cultivation of eggplant Duck Bucked system. Research conducted at the Laboratory of Urban Agriculture Faculty of Agriculture, University of Muhammadiyah Jember, December 2018 to April 2019, indesigned randomized block design factorial arranged secaranon repeated 3 times. that is A (Charcoal chaff), S (Sawdust), B (Bricks), AS ( Charcoal and Sawdust Husk) with 3: 1, AB (Charcoal Husk and Bricks) with 3: 1, BA (Bricks and Charcoal husks with 3:1, BS (Bricks and Sawdust) with 3:1, SA (Sawdust and Charcoal husks) with 3:1, SB (Sawdust and bricks) with 3:1), ASB (Charcoal Sawdust Husk and Bricks) with 1:1:1. The result showed treatment of growing media composition of the substrate affects the vegetative growth of plant height at 45 and 60 days after planting, biomass wet weight, dry weight biomass, root fresh weight and root dry weight, the best substrate media broken bricks. While composition of the substrate growing media influence on the amount of fruit harvest and to all III-V substrate media best media substrate broken bricks. Conclusions broken bricks media substrate is a substrate of the best media for eggplant plants in the hydroponic system Duck Bucked.

Abstract

Provide cavendish banana seedling massively can be solved with Provide cavendish banana seedling massively can be solved with tissue culture. One of the critical period in tissue culture is acclimatization. Acclimatization problem came from external factor, i.e. planting media. It causes cavendish banana plantlet got growth shambles and caused die. Planting media functions as growing media and nutrition source or fertilizer plant needed and hold the water within a certain time limit. Aside from, media necessity equilibration between micro and macro pore to keep stability between water, air and nutrition. Aimthis research was to understand the kind of the optimal media compositions in cavendish banana plantlet acclimatization. This research using Complete Randomized Design. Kind of compositions media used i.e. M1 = cocopeat : husk charhcoal : soil (1:1:2); M2 = cocopeat : husk charchcoal : compost (1:1:2); M3 = cocopeat : husk charchcoal : sand = (1:1:2). Observation variables were average of seedling growth precentage, plant height, addition of leaves, and growth of seedling phenotypes. Observation done on 15 daa (day after acclimatization) until 30 daa with interval 15 daa. The results showed that the all three treatments composition of planting media effected on seedling growth precentage, plant height andaddition of leaves. Observation in 30daa showed that planting media of cocopeat + husk charchcoal + sand having the best response treatment in parameter of seedling growth precentage, plant height andaddition of leaves.
