Abstract

Prophet Tradition (hadith) is the second main source in Islam. Unlike Koran that has completely validated as revelation, while hadith must be examined its validation of transmission and matan. Therefore, problematic hadith appeared, in transmission or matan. Especially, the problematic hadith in wich its matan contradicted, that called ‘musykil al-hadits’ or ‘mukhtalaf al-hadits’. Mukhtalaf al-Hadith, appearly, its matan contradicted with Koran, other equal hadith, axioma or reality. So, Mukhtalaf al-Hadits is more debatable. Mu’tazila who representativeof Rasionalist, rejected existence of mukhtalaf al-hadits as source of religion. Menwhile, Tradisionist (Ahl Hadits) accepted it as source of religion, by condition when its transmission comfirmed/validated. To realease contradiction of mukhtalaf hadits matan, Ibnu Qutayba, one of Muhaddits used rational method; Hermeneutic (Takwil). This research used content analysis method with some approaches; Jurisprudence, Logic, Ushul Fiqh, Theology.

Abstract

This paper analyzes the K.H. Mas Mansur’s nationalism and moderation ideas in the Interpretation of Langkah Moehammadijah 1939. As a product of culture and thought, the Qur’anic interpretation always reflects the ideological reasoning of the author. This study will examine the role of the Kyai Mas Mansur in bringing up Indonesianist ideas ahead of independence. The question answered in this paper is the extent of K.H. Mas Mansur’s nationality and moderation ideas in Interpretation of Langkah Moehammadijah? How can these ideas appear in the interpretation? This article shows that in 12 steps Muhammadiyah was initiated by K.H. Mas Mansur, seven of them sought spiritual strengthening and national unity. The seven things are deepening the entry of faith, expanding religious ideology, producing character, guiding the practice of the core of theqad, strengthening unity, upholding justice, and carrying out wisdom. Meanwhile, the next five steps are specifically intended for Persyarikatan Muhammadiyah as a da'wah organization that is encouraged to maintain unity, which is to strengthen the Tanwir Majlis, hold part conferences, deliberate decisions, oversee internal movements, and connect outside movements. These ideas appear to be nothing but related to power relations especially in the capacity of K.H. Mas Mansur as chairman of the Muhammadiyah, a reformer figure, and an Indonesian freedom fighter.

Abstract

The Wali played a dynamic role in spreading Islam so that the religion can easily be accepted by the Indonesian people. The spread of Islam in the archipelago used several approaches or ways, including trade, marriage, sufism, educational, art and political. While at that time Indonesia was in the cultural vacuum of civilization due to the influence of two great kingdoms, the Hindu kingdom and Buddhist kingdom. Islam brought social and cultural changes which are refining and developing Indonesian culture. Adjustments between adat and sharia in various regions in Indonesia always occur, although sometimes, they face conflicts in local societies. Nevertheless, the process of Islamization in various places in Indonesia is carried out in a way that is acceptable to the local people. Thus, the religious life of the people, in general, shows a mix of elements of Islam and previous beliefs. This was done by Islamic disseminators because there had long been religions (Hindu-Buddhist) and animistic beliefs in Indonesia

Abstract

This study discusses the characteristics of the Qur'an interpretations in Indonesia which appeared in the last ten years (2000-2010). The focus of the study is to reveal and analyze the diversity and uniqueness of the Qur'an interpretations in Indonesia within 2000-2010 in terms of interpretation methods/ approach, interpretation style, and typology of thought interpretation. In spite of tracking the new trends that occur, this study also analyzes the contribution of Indonesian interpretation in the development of contemporary Qur'an tafseer thinking. This study employed a historical-sociological-critical approach and a contemporary Qur’an hermeneutic approach. The analysis conducted to 26 interpretations shows the diversity and uniqueness as follows: first, analysis of 26 interpretations has derived a new trend in the interpretation that the author called as Nusantara Tafseer Paradigm. Nusantara Tafseer Paradigm is an interpretation of verses of the Qur'an that has a nuance of Indonesian typical interpretation. Nusantara Tafseer Paradigm produces a product of interpretation which is relevant with the spirit of Indonesia in terms of culture (culture), customs, habits, language, climate, social, political, economic, and geographical of Indonesia. Second, the 26 analyzed interpretations produce 5 tafseer styles, namely: linguistic style, social-community style, fiqih style, theological style, and the scientific style. Third, the 26 analyzed interpretations produces four typologies of interpretive thinking: traditionalistic objectivist typology, objective revivalist typology, subjectivist typology and modernist objectivist typology. Fourth, the emergence of new trends in terms of paradigm, style and typology of thought interpretation in Indonesia has indicated a shift of interpretation paradigm that has not occurred in the previous periods. These new trends have a great contribution to the development of contemporary interpretation thought especially in Indonesia.

Abstract

This paper focuses on the dynamic portrait of politics among moslem elits and Jawara in Indonesia, especially in the western tip of Java Island (Banten Province). Using a critical analysis in its document research, this study enriched by socio-political methods and socio-anthropological approaches. The study issued that the collapsed of the New Order (orde baru) regime and the start of a decentralized system of regional autonomy caused the increasing of local moslem elites commonly called Jawara as an informal leader in Banten due to the malfunctions of the state itself. It was clearly enough can be seen from the political and economic system in Banten controlled by the elites moslem local (Jawara) showing the portrait of local oligarchy in Banten; in which the institutional government leads only by the elites moslem local and certain family clan. All those things cause the economic policies and government affairs taken over by the elites (Jawara). The political constellation in Banten become more interesting when the moslem elites local itself are still giving a huge influence in determining the political orientation for Banten society.
