Abstract

The aim of this study is to determine the effect of problem-based learning on student’s science attitudes related to food theme’s. The method used is quasi experiment with pretest-posttest design. Subjects in the study were the students of grade V elementary school in Sumedang, amounting to 44 people and 15 classroom teachers. The instruments used consist of attitude scales, questionnaires, and interviews provided before and after problem-based learning. The results showed that there was an increase in student’s science attitude after learning, which can be seen from the increase of the average score of student’s science attitude from 82.00 to 83.4.Keywords: student’s science attitude, food, problem-based learning.

Abstract

The literature-based learning model is used to create a 15 minute reading activity before learning becomes a fun, varied activity and to increase reading interest as well as the ability to respond to learners' books. This research uses a descriptive-qualitative approach. Which one of the aims is to reveal and describe the process stages of the literature based model applied to the school literacy movement program in reading activities 15 minutes before learning. This event lasted for ten times in class V Cikancung State Elementary School. The findings of of this study are: learners reading interest increased 97%, which 70% in the middle increase category, and 27% else in the lower one. The remaining, 3% learners has no increasing of reading interest.Keywords: literature-based learning, reading interest, school literacy movement program.

Abstract

This study aims to see the influence of open-ended and scientific approach to improving mathematical connection ability of elementary school students. This study is a quasi experimental research, with the design used is "pretest-posttest two treatman design". The population as well as the sample in this research is all the students of grade v of elementary school in SDN 016 Bangkinang Kota. The instrument used in data collection is a mathematical connection test of the description form. The result of the research shows that the learning of mathematics both open-ended and scientific approach have the same effect in improving mathematic connection ability of elementary school students. If reviewed under the category of student ability, high group connection capabilities with a scientific approach are as good as high-group connection capabilities in an open-ended approach. The ability of a moderate group connection with a scientific approach is better than group connection capability is in an open-ended approach. Also in low-group connection capabilities with a scientific approach as well as a low-group connection capability in an open-ended approach. Based on the results of this study, then the learning of mathematics with scientific and open-ended approach can be used as one of the learning that can be applied in an effort to improve the ability of students, especially the ability of mathematical connections of elementary school students.Keywords: open-ended, scientific, mathematical connection ability, elementary students.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to 1) describe in depth the megalithic relics of Sekala Brak sites; and 2) to describe the design of local history learning materials based on megaliths relic of Sekala Brak. This research method is descriptive qualitative. Techniques used in data collection are techniques of observation, documentation, and literature study. Analysis of the data presented descriptively, that is to articulate and describe the findings of the data according to the problems studied. The results showed that: 1) The archeological relic found in the megalithic sites of West Lampung consisting of Situs Batu Brak, Batu Jagur, Megalitik Telaga Mukmin, Megalitik Batu Kepapang, Batu Bertulis (Prasasti Hujung Langit), Batu Tameng, Batu Jaya, Batu Bertulis Belalau, Batu Spadu/Batu Putri, Batu Nakka/Batu Tegak, dan Situs Batu Raja; 2) Lampung local history materials that can be implemented in elementary school learning include: a) Customs, b) Traditional arts (dance, rupa / craft, music), c) Historic places, d) Habits and philosophy of life, e) The relationship of kinship, f) folklore, g) The system of government (Kingdom, sultanate, keratuan), h) Heroes and heroism, i) Language, j) of local historical events of the colonial era, k) local historical events independence era, l) local historical events post-independence era, m) local history of contemporary events, and n) Historiography Lampung in the media. Keywords: megalithic Site Sekal Brak, local history learning materials, elementary school.

Abstract

The result of observation in grade V students at SDN II Galanggang has a low understanding about the history of Islamic Kingdom in Indonesia. The reason among others, because the learning process that takes place more directed at the achievement of material targets, so that the impact on passive student activity and student learning outcomes have not shown minimal achievements that have been determined. Solution to overcome by applying mind-map model. The research method used is Classroom Action Research Method (PTK). The purpose of this research is to improve students' creativity and understanding. The results of this study showed an increase in student creativity in the cycle I 68.8%, 92.88% cycle II, and 95.6% III cycle. Likewise with students' understanding of the cycle I 77.7%, 84.4% II cycle, and 91.1% III cycle. Thus the application of mind map model can improve students' creativity and understanding on the history of Islamic kingdom in Indonesia. Keywords: mind map, creativity, comprehension.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to analyze the feasibility and practicality of an animated video media “Bang Dasi” Camtasia application-based. The experiment was conducted in SDN Sugihmanik 04, District Tanggungharjo, Grobogan. This research development (R D) used ADDIE design (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation), which involved five stages of research, those  are the analysis phase, design phase, development phase, implementation phase and evaluation phase. Based on the analysis, the average score obtained from the value of the material and results validation of the media that is 95.1% categorized as very feasible. Meanwhile, the score from media expert is 93.33% and from material expert is 96.86%. Animated video media “Bang Dasi” Camtasia application-based has effectiveness in fostering student interest and getting students’ responses (90.5%). This research conclude that animated video media “Bang Dasi” Camtasia application-based is worth using as learning media. Keywords: development, media, video animation, camtasia, two-dimentional figure.

Abstract

To solve the problem, student have to own creative thinking ability then student can deliver creative solutions. Open-ended approach with M-RTE strategy was one of right alternative which used to improving student creative thinking ability. The research method was using quasi experiment with  nonequivalent control group design. Population of the research were fifth grade elementary school student in North Sumedang subsdriction. Sample of the research were Bendungan 2 Elementary School as experiment class and Sukamulya Elementary School as control class. After learning during four times meeting, both at Bendungan 2 Elementary School and Sukamulya Elementary School that student creative thinking skill have improved. Proved that open-ended approach with M-RTE strategy and conventional approach gave positive effect to mathematical creative thinking ability. But, based on N-gain average value, there’s no difference between positive effect given by open-ended approach with M-RTE strategy and conventional approach.Keywords: open-ended, rte, creative thinking.
