Abstract

The phytochemical test, brine shrimp lethality test and antioxidant activity test on secondary metabolits of terap (Artocarpus odoratissimus B.)leaves have been completed. The leaves samples are extracted by masseration method that is concentrated by using rotary evaporator. The total extract are fractioned with n-hexane and ethyl acetate. Based on secondary metabolits phytochemical test of terap (Artocarpus odoratissimus B.)leaves showed that total extract, n-hexane fraction extract andEthyl Acetat fraction extractcontains steroid and flavonoid. In brine shrimp lethality test, the increase larvae death data was recorded and processed using SAS Probit Analysis to determine the Lethal Concentration 50 % (LC 50 ) value. The results of this test showed that the most active extract is metanol extract with LC 50 value of 110,5176ppm. Based on the antioxidant activity by scavenging activity of DPPH used spectrophotometry was obtained that Inhibition Concentration 50% (IC 50 ) of total extract is 563,57 ppm, extract of n-hexane fraction is 631,87 ppm and extract of ethyl acetat fraction is 45,30 ppm.

Abstract

A research has been conducted with a title .The activity of extract and fractions of Sonneratia leaf (Sonneratia caseolaris L.) as an antioxidant. This research aims to know the activity of extract and fractions of Sonneratia leaves as an antioxidant against the free radical DPPH. The Sonneratia leaves powder was extracted using maceration tool with methanol solvent. The methanolic extract fractioned with n-hexane, ethyl acetate, and n-butanol solvents. Testing of antioxidant activity is performed with the DPPH method (1,1-Diphenyl-2-Picrylhydrazyl) by spectrophotometry. Absorbance measurement was conducted with spectrophotometry at the wave length 516 nm. Data was analyzed with linear regression to obtain values of IC50. The result of research showed that the extract and fractions of Sonneratia leaves have activity as an antioxidant with the IC50 value of methanolic extract was 21,62 ppm, n-hexane fraction was 82,36 ppm, ethyl acetate fraction was 13,41 ppm, and n-butanol fraction was 13,04 ppm. The test samples which provide the best antioxidant activity is the fraction of n-butanol.

Abstract

steroid (isolate 1) and flavonoid (isolate 2) types have been isolated from n-hexane and chloroform fractions of Terap (Artocarpus odoratissimus Blanco) leaves, respectively. The types of compounds were determined by phytochemical test. Basic on the result of toxicity test against Brine shrimp lethality test (BSLT) shown that isolate 1 exhib ited highest toxic act ivity among others with LC 50 48.39 ppm.

Abstract

The main object ive of this essay was to describe the minerals, nutrients and active compounds of rambutan (Nephelium lappaceum L.) fru its. Flesh fruit of rambutan is a source of minerals and ascorbic acid that are needed by human body. Its seed oil provides mineral and fatty acid. Its peel contains ellagic acid, corilagin and geraniin that have biological activit ies, such as antioxidant, anticancer, anti-inflammation, anti-hyperalgesic antiviral, anti-semicarbazide-sensitive amine o xidase (SSAO), and anti-hypertensive. Rambutan is not only consumed as fresh fruits, but also it can be used as sources of food and medicine products.

Abstract

Penelit ian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh inovasi yang dilakukan oleh guru untuk mencapai hasil belajar maksimum hanya dihubungkan dengan materi yang akan d isampaikan, kurang memperhatikan gaya belajar maupun gaya berfikir siswa padahal dalam setiap mengajar efekt ifitasnya bergantung pada gaya belajar dan gaya berfikir siswa d isamping sifat pribadi dan kesanggupan intelektualnya. Oleh karena itu mengetahui gaya belajar dan gaya berfikir siswa bagi seorang guru khususnya guru kimia, merupakan suatu usaha yang sangat penting dalam mewujudkan keberhasilan mengajar. Populasi dalam penelit ian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas XI IPA yang terdiri dari 3 kelas. Sampel yang diamb il dalam penelitian ini adalah kelas XI IPA 2 yang berjumlah 32 siswa. Pengumpulan data pada pen elitian ini melalui angket gaya belajar dan gaya berfikir serta ulangan harian berupa soal essay sebanyak 6 soal. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa gaya belajar do minan siswa adalah gaya belajar auditori dimana persentase gaya belajar auditori sebesar 45%, gaya belajar visual sebesar 24% dan gaya belajar kinestetik sebesar 31%. Gaya berfikir dominan siswa adalah gaya berfikir sekuensial konkrit (SK) dimana persentase gaya berfikir sekuensial konkrit sebesar 52%, gaya berfikir sekuensial abstrak sebesar 3% , gaya berfikir acak abstrak sebesar 35% dan gaya berfikir acak konkrit sebesar 10%.

Abstract

Performance of Indonesian Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) with occupational accidents and occupational diseases as the main indicators has not been satisfactory. The main factors causing occupational accidents and occupation disease are human factors and environmental factors. Without prejudice to the human factors, the purposes of the study are to determine the relationship of physical and chemical environmental factors against the performance of OHS and its contribution to the performance of OHS. Analytical survey with cross sectional approach to Plywood Companies in East Kalimantan. Obtained a significant relationship between the physical and chemical environment variables with OHS performance (p = 0.043) and contribute 38.2% of the OHS performance.

Abstract

Daun binahong [Anredera cordifolia (Ten.) Steenis] merupakan tumbuhan yang bermanfaat bagi masyarakat untuk mengobati berbagai penyakit antara lain diabetes, analgetik, pembengkakan sendi-sendi, diare dan memar (Shabella, 2012). Penelitian pendahuluan menyatakan bahwa terkandung senyawa aktif flavonoid didalam Binahong (Murdianto, 2012). Penelitian in i bertujuan untuk mengetahui potensi dan berapa besar daya analgetik ekstrak etanolik daun binahong pada hewan uji mencit putih (Mus musculus L.) jantan. Pada penelitian ini d ilakukan secara eksperimental dengan menggunakan metode acak lengkap pola searah. Digunakan mencitdengan 5 kelo mpok perlakuan (tiap kelo mpok 4 ekor mencit) yaitu kontrol positif (Celebrex®), kontrol negatif (Na- CM C 0,5%), ekstrak dosis I (1 g/KgBB), ekstrak dosis II (2 g/KgBB), dan ekstrak dosis III (4 g/KgBB) yang dilakukan selama 1 jam pada masing-masing kelo mpok perlakuan. Pembuatan sediaan uji ekstrak daun binahong dibuat dengan metode maserasi dengan menggunakan pelarut etanol 70%. Hasil penelitian dan perhitungan persen uji daya analgetik pada ekstrak etanolik daun binahong [Anredera cordifolia (Ten.) Steenis] yakni kontrol positif celebrex® (70,53%), ekstrak dosis I (48,06%), ekstrak dosis II (57,49%), dan ekstrak dosis III (69,33%). Hasil skrin ing fitokimia menunjukkan ekstrak mengandung Flavonoid. Flavonoid bekerja dengan menghambat enzim siklooksigenase yang dapat menurunkan sintesis prostaglandin sehingga mengurangi terjadinya vasodilatasi pembuluh darah dan aliran darah lokal sehingga migrasi sel radang pada area radang akan menurun.

Abstract

Kuersetin dan Hesperitin merupakan turunan dari senyawa Flavonoid yang berbeda kelas, Kuersetin kelas Alkohol, sedangkan Hesperetin kelas Alkanon. Docking Molekular, suatu ilmu penelitian secara in silico atau via perangkat lunak (program komputer) dan ditujukan untuk memprediksikan interaksi antara ligan (key) dengan reseptor (lock) dari ikatan hidrogen yang terbentuk. Autodock VINA adalah salah satu program Docking Molekular yang ada, diciptakan oleh Dr. Oleg Trott untuk meningkatkan efisiensi waktu pengerjaan dan akurasi dalam analisa. Dalam penelitian ini masing-masing dari senyawa Kuersetin dan Hesperitin akan di-Docking terhadap dua macam contoh reseptor, sel kanker otak (1S63) dengan ligan aslinya 778 dan sel kanker paru-paru (2ITO) dengan ligan aslinya IRESSA, terlebih dahulu dilakukan optimasi geometri, minimisasi energi juga validasi metode. Penelitian iniditujukan untuk menjelaskan perbandingan Kuersetin, Hesperitin dan ligan-ligan asli sebagai kandidat bahan obat anti kanker. Percobaan Docking, memberikan hasil Kuersetin dan Hesperitin membentuk ikatan hidrogen terhadap asam amino dari masing-masing reseptor. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa Kuersetin dan Hesperitin memiliki kemampuan sebagai inhibitor, terutama pada sel kanker paru-paru (2ITO), karena potensi keduanya lebih baik dari ligan IRESSA. Walaupun Kuersetin dan Hesperitin tak memiliki potensi lebih baik dari ligan 778 pada sel kanker paru-paru, keduanya masih dapat digunakan sebagai bahan obat alternatif dari anti kanker.

Abstract

Emulsification activity, drop collapsing as well as oil displacement test were used to determine biosurfactant producing bacteria consortium activity from palm oil mill effluent (POME). Samples were collected from waste water treatment in PTPN XIII Palm Oil Mill Factory, Paser Regency, EastKalimantan, Indonesia. Total of six samples were screened in order to find out which consortium was producing biosurfactant. All of the samples were showing activity in the drop collapsing method, but only sample #5 and #6 were showing Emulsification activity of 50 and 14%, respectively. Moreover,sample #5 and #6 were showing oil displacement activity which have 0.37 cm and 0.26 cm in diameter, respectively.
