Abstract

The purpose of this research was to study the influence of various concentrations of IAA and BAP on early growth budding of guava (Psidium guajava L.) Var. Kristal in side grafting propagation method. The experiment used completely randomized factorial design. The first factor was various concentrations of IAA (0, 100, and 200 ppm) and the second factor was various concentrations of BAP (0, 100, and 200 ppm). Each treatment was repeated three times. Parameters observed were the time of bud break, time of shoot emergence, and shoot length. The data were analyzed by variance and continued analyzed by Duncan Multiple Range Test. The results showed that the level of IAA concentration gave effect (P<0,05) to time of shoot emergence and shoot length. Level of BAP concentrations gave significant effect (P<0,05) to the time of bud break, time of shoot emergence, and shoot length. The interaction between the concentration level of IAA and BAP had significant effect (P<0,05) on the time of bud break, time of shoot emergence and shoot length. Abstract

 The purpose of the research was to study the concentration of NaOCl and drying method during the extraction process for germination and growth of tomato seedlings. This study used Completely Randomized Design with two factors with three replicates. The first factor was soaking the seeds with NaOCl concentrations: NaOCl 0% (control), NaOCl 6%, NaOCl 9% and NaOCl 13%. The second factor was the drying methods: without drying (control), natural drying and drying using oven. The parameters observed were germination, seed growth rate, maximum growth potential, leaf size, leaf area, plant height, plant growth rate and relative plant growth rate. The data were analyzed using variance analysis and continued by Duncan Multiple Range Test (DMRT) of 5%. The result of variance analysis showed that immersion treatment using NaOCl and drying method had not given interaction during seed germination and seedling growth. Soaking with 9% NaOCl showed the best result of germination process and seedling growth whereas the best drying method was naturally because it did not cause impermeability of seeds. Abstract

The research aimed to study the effect of combination fertilizer by bio-slurryand urea on the growth and yield of soybean. The experiment was assigned in monofactor randomized complete block design with treatment P0 (Control, without fertilizer), P1 (Bio-slurry10 t/ha + Urea 25 kg/ha), P2 (Bio-slurry10 t/ha + Urea 50 kg/ha), P3 (Bio-slurry10 t/ha + Urea 75 kg/ha), P4 (Bio-slurry10 t/ha + Urea 100 kg/ha), P5 (Bio-slurry10 t/ha). Each treatment was replicated five times. Parameters measured were plant height, leaf number, plant dry matter, 100 seeds weight, and nitrogen total of soybean’s stover. Data were subjected to anova and followed by DMRT. The result showed that combination by bioslurry with urea has incrased growth and yield of soybean significantly (P<0,05). Bio-slurry + urea 50 kg/ha has increased high plant (28.10 cm) and leave number (8.48 leaves) higher compared to another treatments. Bio-slurry + urea 25 kg/ha non-significantly different with bio-slurry + urea 50 kg/ha on dry matter and 100 seeds weight, although higher than another treatments. Nitrogen total of stover of 62.88 g/plant has resulted by bio-slurry + urea 25 kg/ha which was higher than other treatments, but non-significantly different with bio-slurry + urea 50 kg/ha (50.63 g/plant). Abstract

This research has an aim to observe the production of lettuce (Lactuca sativa L.) on hydroponic technology of floating system with red and blue LED (Light Emitting Diode) at night. This research was conducted inside the Screenhouse in which located on the top of Griya Kads House building, Bulusan Village, Tembalang Sub-district from May to June 2017. The research was conducted by 3x3 factorial experiments in Nested Design with 3 replications. The first factor was 0, 1.5 and 3 hours irradiation of red and blue LED lights at night. The second factor was 3, 5 and 7 ml/liter of AB mix nutrient concentration which was nested in the first factor. The data collected were fresh weight, dry weight and root canopy ratio. The results of the study showed that the treatment of AB mix nutrient concentration had no significant effect on all parameters. The production of lettuce with level of 5 ml concentration of AB mix was quite good, yet 3 ml and 7 ml levels didn’t improve lettuce production. The duration of red and blue LED irradiation only resulted in an increase in the production of canopy fresh weight. This research can be concluded that 3 hours was sufficient to give the good results to improve the results of lettuce plants production. Abstract

ABSTRACT The purpose of the research was to obtain the morphological variability of M1 sunflower ornamental plant and information of lethal doses (LD50) effect of mutation by gamma ray irradiation. The research was arranged in monofactor experimental with Completely Randomized Design (RAL) with 5 treatments and 5 replication, each replication consisted of 5 sunflower seeds was irradiated by gamma ray of 0, 5, 25, 45, and 65 Gy. The data observed were analyzed by anova and followed with BNT of 5% level. Parameters observed included germination, plant height, stem diameter, tube flower diameter, tape flower diameter, initiation time, perfect bloom age, chlorophyll, ribbon flower number, seed number, total seed weight, weight of 100 seeds, LD50, Flower color and heritability. The result showed that irradiation significant effected to plant height, stem diameter, tube flower diameter, ribbon flower diameter, initiation time, seeds number, seed weight, weight of 100 seeds. Lethal doses of sunflower is 74,19 Gy. Heritability value range from 23,47 to 73,81%.Keywords : Helianthus annus L., irradiation, LD50, heritability

Abstract

The objective of this research was to study the hardiness of several soybean varieties to different levels of salinity water and to find out  the effect of salinity on soybean growth and production. This research was conducted in Greenhouse and Laboratory of Ecology and Plant Production at Faculty of Animal and Agricultural Sciences, Diponegoro University from February to May 2017. The research was arranged using completely randomized factorial design with the first factor was soybean varieties (Dering 1, Demas 2, and Devon 3) and the second factor was water salinity level (0 dS/m, 3 dS/m, 6 dS/m and  9 dS/m). The result showed that the treatment of 3 dS/m water salinity level did not affect at plant height and number of leaves until 4th week. However salinity of 6 and 9 dS/m decreased the height and number of leaves from all varieties. Salinity level of 3, 6 and 9 dS/m decreased the number of pod, weight of pod and 100 seeds weight from all verieties. Dering 1 yielded 100 seeds weight heavier than Demas 1 and Devon 1.Keywords : growth, production, salinity, soybean.

Abstract

The aimed of the research was to analyze the effect the organic fertilizer to increase growth and production of lettuce (Lactuca sativa L.). The Research was conducted on April - July 2017 at Taburmas Garden, Mpu Tantular street, No. 10-12 Bandungan, Semarang. The research design was Completely Randomized Design with 7 treatmentsand 3 replications so that there were 21 units of experiment. The research used organic fertilizer 100 kg N/ha. The treatment were; T0: no organic fertilizer, T1: cow manure (1.15 kg/plot), T2: goat manure (1.16 kg/plot), T3: litter compost (1.5 kg/plot), T4: fertilizer guano (0.226 kg/plot), T5: chicken manure (1,176 kg/plot), T6: rabbit manure (0.763 kg/plot). Data were subjected to Analysis of variance(ANOVA) and continued byDuncan’s Multiple Range Test (DMRT) at α=5%. The results of this study showed that the use of organic fertilizer increased the growth and production of lettuce. Guano ferlitizer and chicken manure fertilizersresulted the highest growth and production in lettuce plants. Keywords : lettuce, organic fertilizer.

Abstract

Beauveria bassiana is one of the pathogens that can be used as an environmentally friendly bio pesticide, as it does not produce harmful residues and does not cause pest resistance. This research was conducted in the village of Campursari village, District of Bulu, Temanggung Regency. The purpose of this research was assess the effectiveness of Beauveria bassiana application in order to suppress the population of brown planthopper and adult rice bug in rice plants and to find out rice plants production. The research used factorial randomized design which consists of two treatments. The first treatment was the application of Beauveria bassiana with controlled doses by 0, 100, 150 and 200 g/14 l. The second treatment was the application interval between 7, 10, and 14 days. The parameters observed were brown planthopper populations, adult rice bug population, plant height, number of tillers and grain production. The results showed that application with doses of 200 g/14 l and 7 day interval application was effective to suppress population of brown planthopper and adult rice bug and also saved grain production by 1,20 kg to 7,02 kg/m2 depending on application dosage. Keywords : planthopper, adult rice bug, Beauveria, doses, application interval

Abstract

The aims of research was to determine the effect of gamma ray on the flower colour of Daisies. The research design was completely randomized design with five replicates. The irradiation treatment of gamma ray were 0 Gy, 5 Gy, 10 Gy, 15 Gy, 20 Gy. Parameters observed were stalk length, time of flowering, number of flowers, flower diameter, and flower colour. The collected data were analyzed by analysis of variance (ANOVA) and continued by Least Significance Different (LSD) of 5% level. The result showed that irradiation of gamma ray did not affected stalk length, number of flowers, and time of flowering. The gamma ray irradiation had a significant effect on flower diameter. Gamma ray irradiation significantly decreased the diameter of flower. The flower colour at doses 0 Gy (control) was purple. Colour flower was varied from dark purple to pink at irradiation 10 Gy and 15 Gy. Keywords: Callistephus chinensis, mutation, irradiation, colour of flower.

Abstract

ABSTRACTThe aim of the research was to determine the physiological characters, heritability estimation, and information of lethal doses (LD50) of M1 onion plant induced by gamma ray irradiation. The research was arranged in monofactor experimental with Complete Randomized Design (CRD) with 6 treatments and 5 replication, each replication consisted of 5 onion bulbs was irradiated by gamma ray of 0, 3, 6, 9, 12, 15 Gy. Parameters observed: the percentage of germination, chlorophyl content, nitrate reductase activity, heritability estimation and LD50. The data were analyzed by anova and followed by BNT 5% level. The result showed that irradiation significant affected to chlorophyl content and nitrate reductase activity. LD50 of onion is 7,64 Gy.
