Abstract

Flouting maxims was a kind of violation on cooperative principles which consist of four maxims. In this case, cooperative principles were cooperation between speaker and hearer to make successful communication. In doing conversation, it was suggested to make the contribution as informative as is required and do not make the contribution more informative than required, do not say what believed to be false, make the contribution relevant and avoid obscurity and ambiguity. These all must be obeyed in doing conversation in order to make a successful communication according to Grice. If it is violated by speaker, it is called by flouting the maxims. The speaker in this case has the intention to arise his implicature. It often used in classroom interaction when teacher and students doing conversation especially in speaking class. It was almost done by students in answering the teacher’s question, where the students was not male students only, but also female students are on that part. Theoretically, female identified as a talkative person more than man. It means that female has ability to show her emotion by producing too much word in conversation which was able to arise implicature. This part can effect to the cooperative principles to make successful communication. Thus, it was true that gender hold the important rule in pragmatic study.

Abstract

Native speaker will do a negotiation of language they have in order to make the foreigner understand more about what they are saying.I is one of the input to the foreigner or learner in absorbing the language. This way is called the Foreigner Talk, in which the native speaker tries to use the simplified variety of language and some check and confirmation to convince the language they utter so the foreigner can understand the language they convey easily. Some studies done by De Lima, Freed, Long, and Ulichny have investigated Foreigner Talk in non educational contexts to find out what the parameters of FT simplification are and how the adjusted input facilitates NS-NNS communication.

Abstract

Tulisan ini bermaksud untuk memaparkan kondisi riil tentang problematika kontekstual lokal dalam periodisasi ejaan bahasa Madura dari masa ke masa pada masyarakat pemakai bahasa Madura di pulau Madura. Secara akademis, periodisasi ejaan bahasa Madura sangat tepat direvitalisasi keberadaannya, sesuai dengan perkembangan zaman dan penuturnya. Namun di sisi lain, beberapa praktisi masih bersikukuh menerapkan ejaan lama yang notabane dianggap sebagai ejaan yang sempurna. Sementara, Balai bahasa Provinsi Jawa Timur sudah memberi fasilitas dan wadah sebagai landasan yuridis yang efektif untuk dijadikan pedoman dalam penulisan ejaan, yakni pedoman ejaan bahasa Madura yang disusun oleh perwakilan praktisi Madura dan akademisi yang ahli dalam bidangnya, kendati kesepakatan dan kesepemahaman masih belum tercapai antar berbagai pihak.

Abstract

Teaching writing is not only giving a topic, asking the students to write, and correcting the students’ tasks but it also means teaching students how to develop ideas and how to make improvements in the drafts in order to produce readable and understandable text for the readers. In other words, students’ writing ability is very much influenced by teacher’s role in class. Therefore, teachers should use purposeful and meaningful teaching strategy to help their students in developing their writing ability. This article describes the role of teacher and the use of various techniques in the process of students’writing.

Abstract

Teaching grammar with no resources to be great challenge for many teachers because it is so difficult to be conducted. But there are many ways can be done by the teacher to teach grammar although resources unavailable. This article would like to explain kinds of effective activities in the teaching grammar with no resources. It can help the teachers who will teach grammar by using no resources. Besides that, it also proposes the procedure and variations of theme. Each activity is completed by level, language context of grammar, and age of the learners.

Abstract

The objective of this written, actually, going to show that literature is a good way to deliver a language learning, in this case leaners could comprehend the language itself by literature as medias of teaching. In this case, of one the literature that could use as a technique to teach language, especially English is drama. Drama can foster skills such as reading, writing, speaking and listening by creating a suitable context. Drama is a powerfull language teaching tool that involves all of the students interactively all of the class period. Drama can also provide the means for connecting students’ emotions and cognition as it enables students to take risk with language and experience the connection between thought and action. Teaching English as a foreign language inevitably involves a balance between receptive and productive skills; here drama can effectively deal with this requirement. Through drama, a class will address, practice and integrate reading, writing, speaking and listening. Drama also fosters and maintains students’ motivation, by providing an atmosphere which is full of fun and entertainment. In so doing, it engages feelings and attention and enriches the learners' experience of the language.

Abstract

Cara untuk mengungkap kekuasaan (potensi untuk mengendalikan orang lain) seorang guru dalam kelas dilakukan dengan menganalisis percakapan guru dalam proses belajar mengajar. Model pendekatan yang bisa digunakan adalah dengan menerapkan pendekatan analisis wacana kritis, model kognisi social yang dikemukakan oleh van Dijk. Tulisan ini bertujuan untuk mendiskripsikan cara melakukan penelitian model kognisi social tersebut, untuk mengungkap kekuasaan yang terkandung dalam percakapan (wacana) guru di dalam kegiatan pembelajaran di kelas. Untuk menerapkan model ini peneliti menggunakan tiga demensi, yakni dimensi teks, dimensi kognisi sosial dan dimensi konteks sosial. Dalam dimensi teks terdapat tiga struktur teks yang analisis yaitu macrostructure (makna global teks atau topik), superstructure (kerangka teks) dan microstructure (makna local teks). Untuk kognisis sosial yang dianalis adalah kondisi mental dari pembuat teks tersebut. Analisis ini dilakukan dengan menganalisis pengetahuan, sikap dan ideology guru. Dalam konteks sosial yang dianalisis adalah kekuasan yang tercermin dalam jenis kekuasaan dan akses yang dimiliki oleh guru.

Abstract

Tulisan ini akan membahas tentang bagaimana model penelitian pengembangan dalam pembelajaran bahasa Arab. Selain membedakan penelitian dan penelitian pengembangan pendidikan, penulis juga menguraikan urgensi penerapan model penelitian ini dalam pembelajaran bahasa Arab. Dengan jenis produk yang berupa alat peraga, media pembelajaran elektronik, bahan ajar, model pembelajaran, instrumen assessment, dan produk pembelajaran berbasis komputer, ada usaha untuk membangkitkan minat para peneliti muda untuk melakukan model penelitian ini dan mengembangkan temuan atau produknya demi kemajuan pembelajaran bahasa Arab ke depan.

Abstract

Berbicara dalam Bahasa Arab pada semua tingkatan sekolah. Secara jelas diakui bahwa keterampilan menyimak ( الاستماع ) menempati urutan awal menurut prioritas, disusul oleh keterampilan berbicara ( , ( الكلام / المحادثة kemudianmembaca ( القراءة ) dan terakhir menulis ( الكتابة ). Makalah ini juga menginformasikan sistimatika psikologi pengajaran keterampilan berbicara dalam bahasa Arab yang diawali proses dari sebuah ketrampilan berbicara, jenis-jenis kegiatan pembelajaran keterampilan berbicara, hal penting yang harus diperhatikan dalam proses pembelajaran keterampilan berbicara. Kesalahan-kesalahan yang terjadi pada pembelajaran keterampilan berbicara serta cara menanggulangi beberapa kesalahan tersebut. Informasi pada makalah ini diharapkan dapat menjadi bahan perbandingan terhadap apa yang telah dilaksanakan atau sementara dilaksanakan pada pengajaran keterampilan berbicara dalam bahasa Arab.

Abstract

Teaching is a process of communication. It has to be created through the way of teaching and exchanging the message or information by every teacher and student. The message can be knowledge, skills, ideas, experiences, and many others. Through the process of communication, the people can receive the message or information. To avoid misunderstanding in the process of communication, media are needed in the process of teaching. Magazine can be other alternative as reading material in the classroom. Magazine as reading material has appeal for the students. To make the students get information from magazine, the teacher can ask the students to observe table of content and giving the students training to use it. Like, what is done on text book. Distinguishing informative reading material with fictive reading, important to know students in reading magazine. Like analyzing advertisements to detect propaganda.
