Abstract

Since 2015 the Government of Indonesia has targeted ​​12.7 hectares land reform through the social forestry program (SFP).This paper traces village SFP beneficiaries and compares them to villages that have forests that did not receive SFP on the three islands of Sumatra, Kalimantan and Sulawesi in Indonesia. The empirical analysis used the Instrumental variable method and in-depth interviews. The findings of this study indicate that the existence of SFPs has not had a significant impact on the growth in the number of businesses and deforestation in both protected and production forests zone. The reason due to limited land due to restrictions on post-determination of social forests, the entrepreneurial capacity of forest managers, not yet integrated SFP with village programs, and low capital and utilization of forest product processing technology. Meanwhile, SFPhas not yet had an impact on deforestation because of the low quality of forest management planning and policy interventions related to forest planting in critical land that hasn’tbeen optimal yet.

Abstract

This study aims to: 1) To determine and analyze the social and economic characteristics of coffee farmers in Kuala Betara District, Tanjung Jabung Barat Regency. 2) To determine and analyze the effect of land area, capital and labor on coffee production, Kuala Betara District, Tanjung Jabung Barat Regency by using multiple linear regression analysis tools. Based on the social and economic characteristics of Coffee Farmers in Kuala Betara District, Tanjung Jabung Barat Regency, it can be concluded that the average age of the Coffee Farmers is 39 years, the average number of dependents of Coffee Farmers is 2 dependents, the average working hours of Coffee Farmers is 3 hours, The average coffee production produced by coffee farmers is 57 kg, the average area of land owned by coffee farmers is 1.46 hectares, the average capital of coffee farmers is Rp. 187,400, the average workforce of Coffee Farmers is only 1 person and the average income of the respondents is Rp. 1,710,000 per month. Based on the results of multiple linear regression, it can be concluded that partially only the variables of land area and labor have a significant effect on coffee production in Kuala Betara District, Tanjung Jabung Barat Regency.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to examine and explain how the role of human resource management in the career development of employees at PT. Atlas Resources Tbk South Jakarta. The research method used is to use a qualitative design with data collection techniques in the form of observation, interviews and documentation. This research is a field research where the problem posed in this study is determined by the current problem, so for this research is a qualitative research with a phenomenological approach. This study uses a phenomenological approach where the author will see a reality related to the role of human resource management in the career development of employees at PT Atlas Resources Tbk, South Jakarta. To determine the role of human resource management in employee career development indicators are used, the indicators used include fair treatment in a career, concern for direct superiors, information about various promotion opportunities, interest in being promoted, and level of satisfaction. Role can be defined as a distinctive behavior that characterizes each person in a work group or social context that has a large influence on an event, while career development is a formal effort to improve and add abilities that are expected to have an impact on the development and expansion of knowledge, thereby opening up the opportunity to get a position or title that satisfies the life of an employee. From the research results it is known that the role of human resource management in employee career development at PT. Atlas Resources Tbk is in accordance with their respective functions, that each line, each department has its own role and function in accordance with the existing organizational structure in the company. Therefore, employees must be managed properly, namely by helping employees plan their future careers in the company so that employees and the company can develop themselves to the maximum so that they can assist the organization in achieving predetermined organizational goals.

Abstract

Unemployment of educated workers is a problem in the workforce, especially in Jambi City. This study aims to: 1) analyze the characteristics of educated workforce in obtaining a job in Jambi City, 2) analyze the factors that affect the length of time to seek work for educated workers in obtaining a job in Jambi City. This research uses multiple linear regression formulation.The results showed that the characteristics of the educated workforce who became respondents according to the average age of educated workers, namely 28 years, the dominant gender of the respondents was male. According to the latest level of education of educated workers, the average is 15 years, the average work experience of educated workers is never worked, the income of parents of educated workers is Rp. 2,513,043 on average, and the average length of time looking for work for workers is Rp. educated workforce is 1 year. Based on the results of the study, it shows that education, parents' income, and work experience affect the length of time looking for work for educated workers in Jambi City.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine partially the effect of the work environment on the performance of employees of the Trenggalek City Community and Village Empowerment Service (DPMD). To find out partially the effect of motivation on the performance of employees of the Trenggalek City Community and Village Empowerment Service (DPMD), and to know simultaneously the effect of the Work Environment and Motivation together on the performance of the employees of the Trenggalek City Community and Village Empowerment Service (DPMD). This research method uses a descriptive type with a quantitative approach. The analytical methods used in this research are validity test, reliability test, normality test, multicollinearity test, autocorrelation test, heteroscedasticity test, correlation test, multiple linear regression test, determination test and significant test (t test and f test). The results showed that partially the work environment has a positive effect on employee performance, this can be seen from the t-test with a t-value of 6.616 > 1.665 with a significance level of 0.000 this value is smaller than 0.5 (0.000 < 0.5). Partially, work motivation has a positive effect on employee performance, this can be seen from the t test with a t-value of 5.642 > 1.665 with a significance level of 0.000 this value is greater than 0.5 (0.000 < 0.5). And Simultaneously the work environment and work motivation have a positive and significant effect on employee performance, this can be seen from the results of the F test with Fcount 29.416 and Ftable 3.10 (29.416 > 3.10). Thus it can be interpreted that the work environment and work motivation simultaneously have a significant influence on employee performance.

Abstract

This study aims to 1) analyze the impact of illegal gold mining (IGM) on social, economic, and environmental conditions as well as the problems faced by families in the IGM area; 2) Formulate strategies for handling the impact of IGM on family welfare. The research was conducted in Pangkalan Jambu District, Merangin Regency, Jambi Province. The type of data used is primary data sourced from family respondents and informants in the area around mining. Data were collected through questionnaires, in-depth interviews, and Focus Group Discussions (FGD). The results of the analysis found that IGM activities in general have been able to grow new job opportunities and increase people's income. However, from social and environmental aspects, there are various negative impacts of IGM on family welfare. Therefore, in dealing with the impact of IGM on family welfare, three policy strategies are recommended, namely: 1) increasing family capacity; 2) strengthening the values ​​of local wisdom and social capital in society; 3) People's Mining Area and Small-Scale Mining programs.
